Isaiah 45

1 Thus says Yahweh to his anointed one, to Cyrus whom, he says, I have grasped by his right hand, tomake the nations bow before him and to disarm kings, to open gateways before him so that their gates be closedno more:	1 Queste cose dice il Signore a Ciro mio unto, cui io ho preso per mano, per soggettare a lui le nazioni, e porre in fuga i re, e aprire davanti a lui le porte, e le porte non saran chiuse.
2 I myself shal go before you, I shall level the heights, I shal shatter the bronze gateways, I shall smashthe iron bars.	2 Io anderò innanzi a te, ed umilierò i grandi della terra: spezzerò le porte di bronzo, e romperò i catenacci di ferro.
3 I shal give you secret treasures and hidden hoards of wealth, so that you will know that I am Yahweh,who cal you by your name, the God of Israel.	3 E darò a te i tesori nascosti, e le ricchezze sepolte; affinchè tu sappi, che son io il Signore, che ti chiamo per nome, il Dio d'Israele.
4 It is for the sake of my servant Jacob and of Israel my chosen one, that I have cal ed you by your name,have given you a title though you do not know me.	4 Per amor del mio servo Giacobbe, e d'Israele eletto mio, ti ho chiamato pel tuo nome, ti ho dato un cognome, e tu non mi hai conosciuto.
5 I am Yahweh, and there is no other, there is no other God except me. Though you do not know me, Ihave armed you	5 Io il Signore, e altri non v'ha; non è Dio fuori di me: io ti ho cinta la spada al fianco, e tu non mi hai conosciuto:
6 so that it may be known from east to west that there is no one except me. I am Yahweh, and there is noother,	6 Affinchè sappian tutti dove il sol nasce, e dov' egli tramonta, che nissuno è fuori di me. Io il Signore, e non havvene un altro.
7 I form the light and I create the darkness, I make well-being, and I create disaster, I, Yahweh, do althese things.	7 Io, che formo la luce, e creo le tenebre, io che io la pace, e creo le sciagure. Io il Signore, che fo tutte queste cose.
8 Rain down, you heavens, from above, and let the clouds pour down saving justice, let the earth openup and blossom with salvation, and let justice sprout with it; I, Yahweh, have created it!	8 Mandate o cieli di sopra la vostra rugiada, e le nubi piovano il giusto: si apra la terra, e germini il Salvatore, e nasca insieme la giustizia. Io il Signore lo ho creato.
9 Woe to anyone who argues with his Maker, one earthenware pot among many! Does the clay say to itspotter, 'What are you doing? Your work has no hands!'	9 Guai a colui, che contraddice a lui, che lo formò, vaso di terra di Samos. La pasta di terra dice ella forse al vasaio; Che fai tu? Il tuo lavoro non è opra di mano.
10 Woe to anyone who asks a father, 'Why are you begetting?' and a woman, 'Why are you giving birth?'	10 Guai a colui, che dice al padre: Perchè mi generavi tu? E alla madre: Perchè mi concepivi tu?
11 Thus says Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel and his Maker: I am asked for signs regarding my sons, Iam given orders about the work I do.	11 Queste cose dice il Signore, il Santo d'Israele, cui egli formo: Interrogatemi sopra le cose future? sopra i miei figliuoli, e sopra le opere delle mie mani datemi i vostri ordini.
12 It was I who made the earth and I created human beings on it, mine were the hands that spread outthe heavens and I have given the orders to all their array.	12 Io feci la terra; e in essa creai l'uomo: le mani mie disteser i cieli, e alla loro milizia io feci comandamento.
13 I myself have raised him in saving justice and I shall make all paths level for him. He will rebuild mycity and bring my exiles home without ransom or indemnity, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	13 Io lo ho suscitato per la giustizia,e reggerò tutti i suoi passi: egli edificherà la mia città, e a' miei schiavi darà libertà, non a prezzo, né per donativi, dice il Signore Dio degli eserciti.
14 Thus says Yahweh: The produce of Egypt, the commerce of Cush and the men of Seba, tall ofstature, wil come over to you and belong to you. They will fol ow you, walking in chains, they wil bow beforeyou, they wil pray to you, 'With you alone is God, and there is no other! The gods do not exist.'	14 Queste cose dice il Signore: Le fatiche dell'Egitto, e il mercimonio dell'Etiopia, e i Sabei uomini di grande statura passeranno dalla tua parte, e saran tuoi: cammineran dietro a te colle mani legate; e te adoreranno, e a te porgeranno preghiere. Teco solamente e Dio, fuori del quale altro Dio non è.
15 Truly, you are a God who conceals himself, God of Israel, Saviour!	15 Veramente un Dio ascoso se' tu, Dio d'Israele Salvatore.
16 They are shamed and humbled, every one of them, humiliated they go, the makers of idols.	16 Son confusi, e svergognati tutti: sono caduti insieme nell'obbrobrio i fabbricatori degli errori.
17 Israel wil be saved by Yahweh, saved everlastingly. You will never be ashamed or humiliated for everand ever.	17 Israele dal Signore è stato salvato con salute eterna: non sarete confusi, né arrossirete per tutti i secoli.
18 For thus says Yahweh, the Creator of the heavens -- he is God, who shaped the earth and made it,who set it firm; he did not create it to be chaos, he formed it to be lived in: I am Yahweh, and there is no other.	18 Perocché queste cose dice il Signore, che crea i cieli; lo stesso Dio, che forma, e produce la terra; egli è il suo faccitore: non invano la ha creata: la formò, perchè fosse abitata: Io il Signore, ed altro non v'ha.
19 I have not spoken in secret, in some dark corner of the underworld. I did not say, 'Offspring of Jacob,search for me in chaos!' I am Yahweh: I proclaim saving justice, I say what is true.	19 Non di nascosto ho parlato, in qualche tenebroso luogo della terra: non ho detto alla stirpe di Giacobbe: Cercatemi inutilmente. Io Signore, che insegno la giustizia, e predico la rettitudine.
20 Assemble, come, al of you gather round, survivors of the nations. They have no knowledge, thosewho parade their wooden idols and pray to a god that cannot save.	20 Raunatevi, e venite, e appressatevi voi tutti, che siete usciti salvi di mezzo alle nazioni: sono senza intelletto coloro, che alzano statua di legno scolpita da loro, e fan preghiere a un dio, che non salva.
21 Speak up, present your case, let them put their heads together! Who foretold this in the past, whorevealed it long ago? Was it not I, Yahweh? There is no other god except me, no saving God, no Saviour exceptme!	21 Parlate, e venite, e fate consiglio insieme: chi fu, che fin da principio annunziò cosa tale, chi fin d'allora la predisse? Non son io quello, io il Signore, e altro Dio non è fuori di me? Dio giusto, e che salvi, non è altri che io.
22 Turn to me and you wil be saved, al you ends of the earth, for I am God, and there is no other.	22 Convertitevi a me da tutte le estremità della terra, e avrete salute; perocché io son Dio, e altri non v'ha.
23 By my own self I swear it; what comes from my mouth is saving justice, it is an irrevocable word: Alshall bend the knee to me, by me every tongue shall swear,	23 Per me stesso ho giurato; parola di giustizia è uscita dalla mia bocca, e non sarà rivocata:
24 saying, 'In Yahweh alone are saving justice and strength,' until al those who used to rage at him cometo him in shame.	24 A me piegherassi ogni ginocchio, e per me farà giuramento ogni lingua.
25 In Yahweh the whole race of Israel finds justice and glory.	25 Diranno adunque nel Signore, che a me appartiene la giustizia, e l'impero: a lui verranno, e saranno confusi tutti quelli, che se gli oppongono.
	26 Dal Signore sarà giustificata, e glorificata tutta la posterità d'Israele.
