1 Proclamation about Egypt: Look! Yahweh, riding a swift cloud, is coming to Egypt. The false gods ofEgypt totter before him and Egypt's heart quails within her.	1 Vaticinio a carico dell'Egitto. Ecco che il Signore, montato sopra leggera nuvoletta, entrerà in Egitto: dinanzi a lui crolleranno gli idoli d'Egitto, e il cuore dell'Egitto si struggerà nel suo petto.
2 I shal stir up Egypt against Egypt, they wil fight one another, brother against brother, friend againstfriend, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.	2 Ed io scaglierò gli Egiziani contro gli Egiziani, e combatteranno, fratello contro fratello, amico contro amico, città contro città, regno contro regno.
3 Egypt's spirit wil fail within her and I shal confound her deliberations. They will consult false gods andwizards, ghosts and sorcerers.	3 E l'Egitto resterà senza spirito nelle sue viscere, ed io distruggerò il suo consiglio. Essi interrogheranno i loro idoli, i loro indovini, i pitoni, i maghi;
4 And I shal hand Egypt over to the clutches of a cruel master, a ruthless king wil rule them -- declaresYahweh Sabaoth.	4 ma io darò l'Egitto in mano di crudeli padroni, e un re potente li dominerà, — dice il Signore Dio degli eserciti. —
5 The waters wil ebb from the sea, the river will dry up and run low,	5 Verranno meno le acque del mare e il fiume resterà senz'acqua, seccato,
6 the streams wil become foul, the rivers of Egypt sink and dry up. Rush and reed wil turn black,	6 e i fiumi verranno meno, caleranno e seccheranno i canali arginati, le canne e i giunchi andranno a male.
7 the Nile-plants on the banks of the Nile; all the vegetation of the Nile, will wither, blow away and be nomore.	7 Il letto del canale resterà asciutto fin dal suo principio, ed ogni semenza da innaffiarsi seccherà, diventerà arida, perirà.
8 The fishermen wil groan, it will be mourning for al who cast hook in the Nile; those who spread nets onthe waters wil lose heart.	8 E gemeranno i pescatori, piangeranno tutti quelli che gettano l'amo nel fiume, e quelli che stendono le reti sopra le acque saran desolati.
9 The workers of carded flax and the weavers of white cloth wil be confounded,	9 Saran confusi i lavoratori del lino, gli scardassatori e i tessitori di panni fini.

16 That day Egypt will be like women, trembling and terrified at the threatening hand of Yahweh Sabaoth,when he raises it against her.	16 In quel giorno l'Egitto sarà come le donne, stupiranno, si spaventeranno al muoversi della mano del Signore degli eserciti, che Egli stesso stenderà contro di loro.
17 The land of Judah will become Egypt's shame; whenever she is reminded of it, she wil be terrified,because of the plan which Yahweh Sabaoth has laid against her.	17 E la terra di Giuda sarà di terrore all'Egitto, tutti quelli che si ricorderanno di lei tremeranno per il decreto del Signore degli eserciti, che Egli stesso ha stabilito contro di loro.
18 That day in Egypt there wil be five towns speaking the language of Canaan and pledging themselvesto Yahweh Sabaoth; one of them will be cal ed City of the Sun.	18 In quel giorno vi saranno cinque città nella terra d'Egitto che parleranno la lingua di Canaan, e giureranno pel Signore degli eserciti: una sarà chiamata città del sole.
19 That day there wil be an altar dedicated to Yahweh in the centre of Egypt and, close to the frontier, apil ar dedicated to Yahweh,	19 In quel giorno vi sarà l'altare del Signore nel mezzo della terra d'Egitto. E il monumento del Signore ai suoi confini
20 and this will be a sign and a witness to Yahweh Sabaoth in Egypt. When they cry to Yahweh for helpbecause of oppressors, he wil send them a Saviour and leader to deliver them.	20 sarà segno e testimonianza pel Signore degli eserciti nella terra d'Egitto; alzeranno la voce al Signore contro l'oppressore, ed Egli manderà loro un salvatore, un difensore a liberarli.
21 Yahweh will reveal himself to Egypt, and the Egyptians wil acknowledge Yahweh that day and wiloffer sacrifices and cereal offerings, and wil make vows to Yahweh and perform them.	21 E il Signore sarà conosciuto dall'Egitto, e gli Egiziani in quel giorno conosceranno il Signore, e l'onoreranno con sacrifizi e offerte, faran dei voti al Signore e li adempiranno,
22 And if Yahweh strikes Egypt, having struck he wil heal, and they wil turn to Yahweh who wil heartheir prayers and heal them.	22 e il Signore percuoterà l'Egitto, farà la piaga e la risanerà. E torneranno al Signore, il quale si placherà e li sanerà.
23 That day there wil be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. Assyria will have access to Egypt and Egypthave access to Assyria. Egypt wil serve with Assyria.	23 In quel giorno vi sarà una via tra l'Egitto e l'Assiria: l'Assiro andrà in Egitto, l'Egiziano andrà in Assiria, e serviranno (il Signore) gli Egiziani e gli Assiri.
24 That day Israel will make a third with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing at the centre of the world,	24 In quel giorno Israele s'unirà, terzo, all'Egitto e all'Assiria, come benedizione in mezzo alla terra
25 and Yahweh Sabaoth wil bless them in the words, 'Blessed be my people Egypt, Assyria my creation,and Israel my heritage.'	25 alla quale il Signore ha data la benedizione dicendo: « Benedetto sia il mio popolo d'Egitto, e l'Assiro, opera delle mie mani, e Israele, mia eredità ».
