Isaiah 19

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Proclamation about Egypt: Look! Yahweh, riding a swift cloud, is coming to Egypt. The false gods ofEgypt totter before him and Egypt's heart quails within her.	1 Oráculo contra o Egito. Eis que o Senhor, montado numa nuvem rápida, vem ao Egito. Os ídolos do Egito tremem diante dele e o Egito sente desfalecer sua coragem.
2 I shal stir up Egypt against Egypt, they wil fight one another, brother against brother, friend againstfriend, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.	2 Excitarei os egípcios, uns contra os outros, e eles se baterão irmão contra irmão, amigo contra amigo, cidade contra cidade, reino contra reino.
3 Egypt's spirit wil fail within her and I shal confound her deliberations. They will consult false gods andwizards, ghosts and sorcerers.	3 O Egito perderá a cabeça, e eu abolirei sua prudência. Consultarão os ídolos e os feiticeiros, os evocadores de mortos e os adivinhos.
4 And I shal hand Egypt over to the clutches of a cruel master, a ruthless king wil rule them -- declaresYahweh Sabaoth.	4 Entregarei esta terra nas mãos de um soberano cruel, um rei implacável a dominará. Oráculo do Senhor dos exércitos.
5 The waters wil ebb from the sea, the river will dry up and run low,	5 As águas do mar se estancarão, e o rio se tornará seco e árido.
6 the streams wil become foul, the rivers of Egypt sink and dry up. Rush and reed wil turn black,	6 A água estagnará nos canais, os rios do Egito diminuirão e secarão. Juncos e caniços murcharão
7 the Nile-plants on the banks of the Nile; all the vegetation of the Nile, will wither, blow away and be nomore.	7 nas campinas à margem do Nilo; tudo o que cresce ao longo do rio secará, cairá e desaparecerá;
8 The fishermen wil groan, it will be mourning for al who cast hook in the Nile; those who spread nets onthe waters wil lose heart.	8 os pescadores ficarão desolados, os que lançam o anzol no rio se lamentarão, e os que lançam suas redes às águas ficarão consternados.
9 The workers of carded flax and the weavers of white cloth wil be confounded,	9 Os que trabalham o linho ficarão decepcionados, os cardadores e os tecelães serão confundidos,
10 the weavers dismayed, al the workmen dejected.	10 os tecedores ficarão à míngua, e todos os trabalhadores em desolação.
11 Yes, the princes of Zoan are fools, Pharaoh's wisest councillors make up a stupid council. How dare you say to Pharaoh, 'I am descended from sages, I am descended from bygone kings'?	11 Os príncipes de Soã enlouquecerão, os sábios conselheiros do faraó formarão um conselho insensato. Como ousais dizer ao faraó: Eu sou filho de sábios, filho dos antigos reis?
12 Where are these sages of yours? Let them tel you, so that all may know, the plans Yahweh Sabaothhas made against Egypt!	12 Onde estão agora os teus sábios? Que eles te anunciem e te façam saber os desígnios do Senhor dos exércitos contra o Egito!
13 The princes of Zoan are fools, the princes of Noph, self-deceivers, the top men of her provinces haveled Egypt astray.	13 Os príncipes de Soã perdem a razão, os príncipes de Nof são iludidos; e os chefes das tribos desencaminham o Egito.
14 Yahweh has infused them with a giddy spirit; they have led Egypt astray in al she undertakes like adrunkard straying about as he vomits.	14 O Senhor difundiu entre eles um espírito de vertigem, e eles vagueiam por todo o Egito sem desígnio certo, como um bêbado que cambaleia em seu vômito.

16 That day Egypt will be like women, trembling and terrified at the threatening hand of Yahweh Sabaoth,when he raises it against her.	16 Naquele tempo, os egípcios serão como mulheres, tremerão de medo sob a ameaça da mão do Senhor levantada sobre eles.
17 The land of Judah will become Egypt's shame; whenever she is reminded of it, she wil be terrified,because of the plan which Yahweh Sabaoth has laid against her.	17 Então a terra de Judá será o terror do Egito; logo que se fale nela, ele se encherá de pavor, por causa dos desígnios que o Senhor dos exércitos formou contra ele.
18 That day in Egypt there wil be five towns speaking the language of Canaan and pledging themselvesto Yahweh Sabaoth; one of them will be cal ed City of the Sun.	18 Naquele tempo, haverá no Egito cinco cidades que falarão a língua de Canaã e jurarão pelo Senhor dos exércitos. Uma delas será chamada a Cidade do Sol.
19 That day there wil be an altar dedicated to Yahweh in the centre of Egypt and, close to the frontier, apil ar dedicated to Yahweh,	19 Naquele tempo, haverá um altar erguido ao Senhor, em pleno Egito, e, em suas fronteiras, um obelisco dedicado ao Senhor.
20 and this will be a sign and a witness to Yahweh Sabaoth in Egypt. When they cry to Yahweh for helpbecause of oppressors, he wil send them a Saviour and leader to deliver them.	20 E eles servirão de monumento ao Senhor na terra do Egito. Quando maltratados pelos opressores, invocarão o Senhor, e ele lhes enviará um salvador, um defensor que os libertará.
21 Yahweh will reveal himself to Egypt, and the Egyptians wil acknowledge Yahweh that day and wiloffer sacrifices and cereal offerings, and wil make vows to Yahweh and perform them.	21 O Senhor se dará a conhecer ao Egito, os egípcios conhecerão o Senhor naquele tempo, e lhe oferecerão sacrifícios e oblações; farão votos ao Senhor e os cumprirão.
22 And if Yahweh strikes Egypt, having struck he wil heal, and they wil turn to Yahweh who wil heartheir prayers and heal them.	22 Quando o Senhor ferir os egípcios, será para curá-los; eles se voltarão para o Senhor, que se deixará aplacar e os curará.
23 That day there wil be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. Assyria will have access to Egypt and Egypthave access to Assyria. Egypt wil serve with Assyria.	23 Naquele tempo, haverá um caminho do Egito para a Assíria; os assírios irão ao Egito, e os egípcios, à Assíria. O Egito e a Assíria renderão culto ao Senhor.
24 That day Israel will make a third with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing at the centre of the world,	24 Naquele tempo, Israel será, como terceiro, aliado ao Egito e à Assíria, objeto da bênção no meio da terra
25 and Yahweh Sabaoth wil bless them in the words, 'Blessed be my people Egypt, Assyria my creation,and Israel my heritage.'	25 Que o Senhor dos exércitos abençoará nestes termos: Bendito seja meu povo do Egito, a Assíria, obra de minhas mãos, e Israel, minha herança!
