1 Proclamation about Egypt: Look! Yahweh, riding a swift cloud, is coming to Egypt. The false gods ofEgypt totter before him and Egypt's heart quails within her.	1 - Vaticinio sull'Egitto. Ecco che il Signore monterà sopra una nube leggera, ed entrerà in Egitto; e al suo apparire si commoveranno i simulacri di Egitto e gli egiziani si sentiranno mancare in petto il cuore.
2 I shal stir up Egypt against Egypt, they wil fight one another, brother against brother, friend againstfriend, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.	2 E farò correre [all'armi] egiziani contro egiziani, e il fratello combatterà contro il fratello, e l'amico contro l'amico: città con città e regno con regno.
3 Egypt's spirit wil fail within her and I shal confound her deliberations. They will consult false gods andwizards, ghosts and sorcerers.	3 E lo spirito degli Egiziani sarà schiantato dentro alle loro viscere, e manderò a precipizio i loro consigli; e consulteranno i loro simulacri e gli indovini, gli stregoni e i maghi.
4 And I shal hand Egypt over to the clutches of a cruel master, a ruthless king wil rule them -- declaresYahweh Sabaoth.	4 E consegnerò gli Egiziani in mano di padroni crudeli, e un re forte li dominerà, dice il Signore degli eserciti.
5 The waters wil ebb from the sea, the river will dry up and run low,	5 E si asciugherà l'acqua del mare, e il fiume sarà nella desolazione e si seccherà.
6 the streams wil become foul, the rivers of Egypt sink and dry up. Rush and reed wil turn black,	6 E i fiumi ristagneranno, e caleranno e seccheranno i canali arginati.
7 the Nile-plants on the banks of the Nile; all the vegetation of the Nile, will wither, blow away and be nomore.	7 I canneti e le giuncaie appassiranno: l'alveo del fiume resterà scoperto fino alla sorgente, e tutti i seminati delle terre irrigate seccheranno, inaridiranno e non faranno nulla.
8 The fishermen wil groan, it will be mourning for al who cast hook in the Nile; those who spread nets onthe waters wil lose heart.	8 E i pescatori saranno afflitti, piangeranno tutti quelli che gettano l'amo nel fiume; e i tenditori di rete sulla superficie delle acque, languiranno.
9 The workers of carded flax and the weavers of white cloth wil be confounded,	9 Quelli che lavoravano il lino, pettinandolo e tessendolo in finissime tele, resteranno confusi,
10 the weavers dismayed, al the workmen dejected.	10 e languiranno i prati irrigui d'Egitto, e tutti quelli che facevano le chiuse per pigliar pesci.
11 Yes, the princes of Zoan are fools, Pharaoh's wisest councillors make up a stupid council. How dare you say to Pharaoh, 'I am descended from sages, I am descended from bygone kings'?	11 I principi di Tanis sono stolti, i sapienti che fanno da consiglieri al Faraone hanno dato un consiglio insipiente. Come dite al Faraone: «Io sono figlio di sapienti, sono prole di antichi re?».
12 Where are these sages of yours? Let them tel you, so that all may know, the plans Yahweh Sabaothhas made against Egypt!	12 Dove sono dunque i tuoi sapienti? ti annunzino e ti indichino essi il consiglio che il Signore degli eserciti ha pensato contro all'Egitto.
13 The princes of Zoan are fools, the princes of Noph, self-deceivers, the top men of her provinces haveled Egypt astray.	13 I principi di Tanis sono diventati stolti, i principi di Memfi sono insaniti, hanno ingannato l'Egitto, la pietra angolare delle sue genti.
14 Yahweh has infused them with a giddy spirit; they have led Egypt astray in al she undertakes like adrunkard straying about as he vomits.	14 Il Signore ha diffuso in mezzo a loro uno spirito di stordimento, ed essi hanno fatto errare l'Egitto in tutto quello che ha fatto, come un ubriaco che va barcollando, in mezzo al suo vomito.

16 That day Egypt will be like women, trembling and terrified at the threatening hand of Yahweh Sabaoth,when he raises it against her.	16 E in quel giorno gli Egiziani diverranno come donne, e saranno nello sbalordimento e nel terrore dinanzi alla mano minacciosa del Signore degli eserciti, che vedranno scuotere sopra di essi.
17 The land of Judah will become Egypt's shame; whenever she is reminded of it, she wil be terrified,because of the plan which Yahweh Sabaoth has laid against her.	17 E la terra di Giuda sarà causa di spavento per l'Egitto: al solo ricordarla ognuno tremerà dinanzi al consiglio che il Signore degli eserciti ha preso sopra di essa.
18 That day in Egypt there wil be five towns speaking the language of Canaan and pledging themselvesto Yahweh Sabaoth; one of them will be cal ed City of the Sun.	18 In quel giorno vi saranno nella terra di Egitto cinque città, che parleranno la lingua di Canaan e giureranno nel Signore degli eserciti, una si chiamerà Città del sole.
19 That day there wil be an altar dedicated to Yahweh in the centre of Egypt and, close to the frontier, apil ar dedicated to Yahweh,	19 In quel giorno nel mezzo del paese d'Egitto, vi sarà un altare del Signore, e presso alla sua frontiera, un monumento al Signore
20 and this will be a sign and a witness to Yahweh Sabaoth in Egypt. When they cry to Yahweh for helpbecause of oppressors, he wil send them a Saviour and leader to deliver them.	20 sarà un segno e un testimonio del Signore degli eserciti nella terra di Egitto. Perchè così grideranno verso il Signore di fronte all'oppressore, e manderà loro un salvatore e un difensore che li libererà.
21 Yahweh will reveal himself to Egypt, and the Egyptians wil acknowledge Yahweh that day and wiloffer sacrifices and cereal offerings, and wil make vows to Yahweh and perform them.	21 E il Signore sarà conosciuto dall'Egitto, e verrà giorno che gli Egiziani lo conosceranno e gli presteranno culto con sacrifici e offerte e faranno voti al Signore e li adempiranno.
22 And if Yahweh strikes Egypt, having struck he wil heal, and they wil turn to Yahweh who wil heartheir prayers and heal them.	22 E il Signore percuoterà con piaghe l'Egitto, e poi lo sanerà e si convertiranno al Signore; e si placherà con essi e li sanerà.
23 That day there wil be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. Assyria will have access to Egypt and Egypthave access to Assyria. Egypt wil serve with Assyria.	23 In quel giorno vi sarà la via aperta dall'Egitto all'Assiria; e l'Assiro entrerà in Egitto e l'Egiziano nell'Assiria, ed Egiziani ed Assiri serviranno [il Signore].
24 That day Israel will make a third with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing at the centre of the world,	24 In quel giorno Israele sarà terzo coll'Egizio e l'Assiro: benedizione in mezzo alla terra,
25 and Yahweh Sabaoth wil bless them in the words, 'Blessed be my people Egypt, Assyria my creation,and Israel my heritage.'	25 a cui benedirà il Signore dicendo: «Benedetto il popolo mio dell'Egitto, e l'Assiro che è opera delle mie mani, e Israele mia eredità».
