Isaiah 19

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 Proclamation about Egypt: Look! Yahweh, riding a swift cloud, is coming to Egypt. The false gods ofEgypt totter before him and Egypt's heart quails within her.	1 Oracle sur l'Egypte. Voici que Yahvé, monté sur un nuage léger, vient en Egypte. Les faux dieuxd'Egypte chancellent devant lui et le coeur de l'Egypte défaille en elle.
2 I shal stir up Egypt against Egypt, they wil fight one another, brother against brother, friend againstfriend, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.	2 J'exciterai l'Egypte contre l'Egypte, ils se battront, chacun contre son frère, chacun contre sonprochain, ville contre ville, royaume contre royaume.
3 Egypt's spirit wil fail within her and I shal confound her deliberations. They will consult false gods andwizards, ghosts and sorcerers.	3 L'esprit de l'Egypte s'évanouira en elle, et je confondrai son conseil. On consultera les faux dieux etles enchanteurs, les spectres et les devins.
4 And I shal hand Egypt over to the clutches of a cruel master, a ruthless king wil rule them -- declaresYahweh Sabaoth.	4 Je livrerai l'Egypte aux mains d'un maître impitoyable, un roi cruel les dominera. Oracle du SeigneurYahvé Sabaot.
5 The waters wil ebb from the sea, the river will dry up and run low,	5 Les eaux disparaîtront de la mer, le fleuve tarira et se desséchera;
6 the streams wil become foul, the rivers of Egypt sink and dry up. Rush and reed wil turn black,	6 les rivières deviendront infectes, les fleuves d'Egypte baisseront et tariront, le roseau et le joncnoirciront.
7 the Nile-plants on the banks of the Nile; all the vegetation of the Nile, will wither, blow away and be nomore.	7 Les herbes du Nil sur les bords du Nil, toute la verdure du Nil, sera desséchée, dispersée, anéantie.
8 The fishermen wil groan, it will be mourning for al who cast hook in the Nile; those who spread nets onthe waters wil lose heart.	8 Les pêcheurs gémiront, ce sera le deuil pour tous ceux qui lancent l'hameçon dans le Nil, ceux quijettent le filet sur les eaux seront désolés.
9 The workers of carded flax and the weavers of white cloth wil be confounded,	9 Ils seront déçus, ceux qui travaillent le lin cardé et ceux qui tissent des étoffes blanches;
10 the weavers dismayed, al the workmen dejected.	10 ses tisserands seront consternés, tous les salariés seront attristés.
11 Yes, the princes of Zoan are fools, Pharaoh's wisest councillors make up a stupid council. How dare you say to Pharaoh, 'I am descended from sages, I am descended from bygone kings'?	11 Oui, insensés sont les princes de Coân, les plus sages conseillers du Pharaon forment un conseilstupide. 13 The princes of Zoan are fools, the princes of Noph, self-deceivers, the top men of her provinces haveled Egypt astray.	13 Ils déraisonnent, les princes de Coân, ils s'abusent, les princes de Noph, et l'élite de ses nomes a faitdivaguer l'Egypte.

16 That day Egypt will be like women, trembling and terrified at the threatening hand of Yahweh Sabaoth,when he raises it against her.	16 Ce jour-là, l'Egypte sera comme les femmes, tremblante et terrorisée devant la menace de la main deYahvé Sabaot, lorsqu'il la lèvera contre elle.
17 The land of Judah will become Egypt's shame; whenever she is reminded of it, she wil be terrified,because of the plan which Yahweh Sabaoth has laid against her.	17 Le territoire de Juda deviendra la honte de l'Egypte: chaque fois qu'on le lui rappellera, elle seraterrorisée à cause du dessein que Yahvé Sabaot a formé contre elle.
18 That day in Egypt there wil be five towns speaking the language of Canaan and pledging themselvesto Yahweh Sabaoth; one of them will be cal ed City of the Sun.	18 Ce jour-là, il y aura cinq villes au pays d'Egypte qui parleront la langue de Canaan et prêterontserment à Yahvé Sabaot; l'une d'elles sera dite "ville du soleil."
19 That day there wil be an altar dedicated to Yahweh in the centre of Egypt and, close to the frontier, apil ar dedicated to Yahweh,	19 Ce jour-là, il y aura un autel dédié à Yahvé au milieu du pays d'Egypte, et près de la frontière unestèle dédiée à Yahvé.
20 and this will be a sign and a witness to Yahweh Sabaoth in Egypt. When they cry to Yahweh for helpbecause of oppressors, he wil send them a Saviour and leader to deliver them.	20 Ce sera un signe et un témoin de Yahvé Sabaot au pays d'Egypte. Quand ils crieront vers Yahvé parcrainte des oppresseurs, il leur enverra un sauveur et un défenseur qui les délivrera.
21 Yahweh will reveal himself to Egypt, and the Egyptians wil acknowledge Yahweh that day and wiloffer sacrifices and cereal offerings, and wil make vows to Yahweh and perform them.	21 Yahvé se fera connaître des Egyptiens, et les Egyptiens connaîtront Yahvé, en ce jour-là. Ilsoffriront sacrifices et oblations, ils feront des voeux à Yahvé et les accompliront.
22 And if Yahweh strikes Egypt, having struck he wil heal, and they wil turn to Yahweh who wil heartheir prayers and heal them.	22 Et si Yahvé frappe les Egyptiens, il frappera et guérira, ils se convertiront à Yahvé qui accueilleraleurs demandes et les guérira.
23 That day there wil be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. Assyria will have access to Egypt and Egypthave access to Assyria. Egypt wil serve with Assyria.	23 Ce jour-là, il y aura un chemin allant d'Egypte à Assur. Assur viendra en Egypte et l'Egypte enAssur. L'Egypte servira avec Assur.
24 That day Israel will make a third with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing at the centre of the world,	24 Ce jour-là, Israël viendra en troisième avec l'Egypte et Assur, bénédiction au milieu de la terre,
25 and Yahweh Sabaoth wil bless them in the words, 'Blessed be my people Egypt, Assyria my creation,and Israel my heritage.'	25 bénédiction que prononcera Yahvé Sabaot: "Béni mon peuple l'Egypte, et Assur l'oeuvre de mesmains, et Israël mon héritage."
