1 Proclamation about Egypt: Look! Yahweh, riding a swift cloud, is coming to Egypt. The false gods ofEgypt totter before him and Egypt's heart quails within her.	1 Une sentence contre l’Égypte: Yahvé est monté sur un nuage léger; voici qu’il arrive en Égypte et l’Égypte sent son cœur défaillir, les idoles d’Égypte tremblent devant lui.
2 I shal stir up Egypt against Egypt, they wil fight one another, brother against brother, friend againstfriend, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.	2 Je vais dresser l’Égypte contre l’Égypte, on se battra entre frères, voisin contre voisin, ville contre ville, royaume contre royaume.
3 Egypt's spirit wil fail within her and I shal confound her deliberations. They will consult false gods andwizards, ghosts and sorcerers.	3 Voici que l’Égypte ne sait plus que faire, j’ai brouillé sa clairvoyance. Ils s’en vont consulter les idoles, les magiciens, les sorciers et les devins.
4 And I shal hand Egypt over to the clutches of a cruel master, a ruthless king wil rule them -- declaresYahweh Sabaoth.	4 Je vais livrer l’Égypte à un maître cruel, un tyran régnera sur eux - parole du Seigneur, Yahvé Sabaot.
5 The waters wil ebb from the sea, the river will dry up and run low,	5 Les eaux de la mer se perdent, le fleuve se tarit et se dessèche,
6 the streams wil become foul, the rivers of Egypt sink and dry up. Rush and reed wil turn black,	6 les rivières deviennent infectes, les fleuves d’Égypte baissent et se dessèchent, les roseaux et les joncs se flétrissent.
7 the Nile-plants on the banks of the Nile; all the vegetation of the Nile, will wither, blow away and be nomore.	7 Toute l’herbe des bords du Nil, toutes les plantes semées au bord du Nil, se dessèchent, sont emportés, disparaissent.
8 The fishermen wil groan, it will be mourning for al who cast hook in the Nile; those who spread nets onthe waters wil lose heart.	8 Les pécheurs se lamentent, ceux qui jettent l’hameçon dans le Nil sont en deuil, ceux qui jettent leurs filets sur les eaux sont désespérés.
9 The workers of carded flax and the weavers of white cloth wil be confounded,	9 Déception pour ceux qui travaillent le lin! Ceux qui travaillent la toile blanche,
10 the weavers dismayed, al the workmen dejected.	10 comme ceux qui la tissent, sont découragés; les ouvriers sont démoralisés.
11 Yes, the princes of Zoan are fools, Pharaoh's wisest councillors make up a stupid council. How dare you say to Pharaoh, 'I am descended from sages, I am descended from bygone kings'?	11 Qu’ils sont bêtes les chefs de Soan, quel conseil stupide que ces sages conseillers du Pharaon! 13 The princes of Zoan are fools, the princes of Noph, self-deceivers, the top men of her provinces haveled Egypt astray.	13 Les princes de Soan ont perdu le sens, les princes de Nof se trompent, les chefs de ses tribus égarent l’Égypte.
14 Yahweh has infused them with a giddy spirit; they have led Egypt astray in al she undertakes like adrunkard straying about as he vomits.	14 Yahvé a fait passer dans ce pays un esprit d’égarement; et voilà l’Égypte qui fait tout de travers, comme un homme ivre, tout hébété quand il vomit.
15 Nowadays no one does for Egypt what top and tail, palm and reed used to do.	15 Rien ne profite plus à l’Égypte, que cela vienne de la tête ou de la queue, de la palme ou du jonc.
16 That day Egypt will be like women, trembling and terrified at the threatening hand of Yahweh Sabaoth,when he raises it against her.	16 En ce jour-là l’Égypte sera comme une femme, tremblante, effrayée rien qu’à voir la main menaçante de Yahvé Sabaot.
17 The land of Judah will become Egypt's shame; whenever she is reminded of it, she wil be terrified,because of the plan which Yahweh Sabaoth has laid against her.	17 Le pays de Juda fera peur à l’Égypte. Chaque fois qu’on parlera de lui elle tremblera en pensant aux menaces de Yahvé Sabaot.
18 That day in Egypt there wil be five towns speaking the language of Canaan and pledging themselvesto Yahweh Sabaoth; one of them will be cal ed City of the Sun.	18 En ce jour-là, cinq villes au pays d’Égypte parleront la langue de Canaan: on aura recours au nom de Yahvé Sabaot pour y prêter serment. L’une d’elle sera appelée ville du Soleil.
19 That day there wil be an altar dedicated to Yahweh in the centre of Egypt and, close to the frontier, apil ar dedicated to Yahweh,	19 Ce jour-là il y aura en pleine terre d’Égypte un autel consacré à Yahvé et, près de la frontière, un monument dédié à Yahvé.
20 and this will be a sign and a witness to Yahweh Sabaoth in Egypt. When they cry to Yahweh for helpbecause of oppressors, he wil send them a Saviour and leader to deliver them.	20 Il sera un signe et un témoin de Yahvé Sabaot dans le pays d’Égypte. Quand ils crieront vers lui au temps de l’oppression, il leur enverra un sauveur, un défenseur qui les délivrera.
21 Yahweh will reveal himself to Egypt, and the Egyptians wil acknowledge Yahweh that day and wiloffer sacrifices and cereal offerings, and wil make vows to Yahweh and perform them.	21 Yahvé se fera connaître aux Égyptiens et les Égyptiens connaîtront Yahvé. Ils présenteront des sacrifices et des offrandes en l’honneur de Yahvé, ils feront des vœux et les accompliront.
22 And if Yahweh strikes Egypt, having struck he wil heal, and they wil turn to Yahweh who wil heartheir prayers and heal them.	22 Car Yahvé frappera l’Égypte, mais après l’avoir frappée il la guérira; ils reviendront à Yahvé, il entendra leurs prières et les guérira.
23 That day there wil be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. Assyria will have access to Egypt and Egypthave access to Assyria. Egypt wil serve with Assyria.	23 Ce jour-là une route mènera d’Égypte en Assyrie, l’Assyrie aura des relations avec l’Égypte et l’Égypte avec l’Assyrie, et l’Égypte, comme l’Assyrie, servira Yahvé.
24 That day Israel will make a third with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing at the centre of the world,	24 En ce jour-là Israël se joindra comme un tiers à l’Égypte et à l’Assyrie, et ce sera une bénédiction dans le monde.
25 and Yahweh Sabaoth wil bless them in the words, 'Blessed be my people Egypt, Assyria my creation,and Israel my heritage.'	25 Yahvé Sabaot les bénira, il dira: “Bénie soit l’Égypte, mon peuple, et l’Assyrie, œuvre de mes mains, et Israël, mon héritage!”
