Isaiah 19

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Proclamation about Egypt: Look! Yahweh, riding a swift cloud, is coming to Egypt. The false gods ofEgypt totter before him and Egypt's heart quails within her.	1 Oráculo sobre Egipto. ¡Miren al Señor que entra en Egipto, montado sobre una nube ligera! Ante él vacilan los ídolos de Egipto, y el corazón de Egipto se disuelve en su interior.
2 I shal stir up Egypt against Egypt, they wil fight one another, brother against brother, friend againstfriend, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.	2 Yo incitaré a egipcios contra egipcios y combatirán hermano contra hermano, amigo contra amigo, ciudad contra ciudad, reino contra reino.
3 Egypt's spirit wil fail within her and I shal confound her deliberations. They will consult false gods andwizards, ghosts and sorcerers.	3 El espíritu de Egipto se desvanecerá en su interior, yo confundiré sus designios, y ellos consultarán a ídolos y encantadores, a nigromantes y adivinos.
4 And I shal hand Egypt over to the clutches of a cruel master, a ruthless king wil rule them -- declaresYahweh Sabaoth.	4 Entregaré a los egipcios en manos de un amo implacable, y un rey cruel los dominará –oráculo del Señor de los ejércitos–.
5 The waters wil ebb from the sea, the river will dry up and run low,	5 Las aguas del mar se secarán y el Río quedará árido y reseco;
6 the streams wil become foul, the rivers of Egypt sink and dry up. Rush and reed wil turn black,	6 los canales apestarán, los Nilos de Egipto bajarán hasta secarse, las cañas y los juncos se marchitarán.
7 the Nile-plants on the banks of the Nile; all the vegetation of the Nile, will wither, blow away and be nomore.	7 Toda la vegetación de los bordes del Nilo y todas las plantas sembradas junto a él se secarán: serán arrasadas y desaparecerán.
8 The fishermen wil groan, it will be mourning for al who cast hook in the Nile; those who spread nets onthe waters wil lose heart.	8 Gemirán los pescadores, los que arrojan al anzuelo en el Nilo estarán de duelo, y desfallecerán los que echan la red sobre las aguas.
9 The workers of carded flax and the weavers of white cloth wil be confounded,	9 Los que trabajan el lino quedarán defraudados, las cardadoras y los tejedores se pondrán lívidos,
10 the weavers dismayed, al the workmen dejected.	10 sus tejedores se sentirán acongojados y todos los asalariados, afligidos.
11 Yes, the princes of Zoan are fools, Pharaoh's wisest councillors make up a stupid council. How dare you say to Pharaoh, 'I am descended from sages, I am descended from bygone kings'?	11 ¡Qué necios son los príncipes de Soán! ¡Los más sabios consejeros del Faraón forman un consejo de estúpidos! ¿Como pueden ustedes decir al Faraón: «Yo soy hijo de sabios, hijo de antiguos reyes»?
12 Where are these sages of yours? Let them tel you, so that all may know, the plans Yahweh Sabaothhas made against Egypt!	12 ¿Dónde están tus sabios? ¡Vamos, que te anuncien y te den a conocer lo que el Señor de los ejércitos han proyectado contra Egipto!
13 The princes of Zoan are fools, the princes of Noph, self-deceivers, the top men of her provinces haveled Egypt astray.	13 ¡Se han enloquecido los príncipes de Soán, se ilusionan los príncipes de Nof, las piedras angulares de sus tribus han extraviado a Egipto!
14 Yahweh has infused them with a giddy spirit; they have led Egypt astray in al she undertakes like adrunkard straying about as he vomits.	14 El Señor ha derramado en medio de ellos un espíritu de vértigo, y ellos extravían a Egipto en todo lo que emprende, como pierde pie el borracho cuando vomita.
15 Nowadays no one does for Egypt what top and tail, palm and reed used to do.	15 Y no será para provecho de Egipto nada de lo que hagan la cabeza y la cola, la palmera y el junco.
16 That day Egypt will be like women, trembling and terrified at the threatening hand of Yahweh Sabaoth,when he raises it against her.	16 Aquel día, los egipcios serán como mujeres; temblarán y estarán aterrorizados ante la mano amenazadora del Señor de los ejércitos, que él agitará contra ellos.
17 The land of Judah will become Egypt's shame; whenever she is reminded of it, she wil be terrified,because of the plan which Yahweh Sabaoth has laid against her.	17 La tierra de Judá será el espanto de Egipto: cada vez que se la mencione, Egipto temblará a causa del designio que el Señor ha proyectado contra él.
18 That day in Egypt there wil be five towns speaking the language of Canaan and pledging themselvesto Yahweh Sabaoth; one of them will be cal ed City of the Sun.	18 Aquel día, habrá en la tierra de Egipto cinco ciudades que hablarán la lengua de Canaán y jurarán por el Señor de los ejércitos; una de ellas se llamará Ciudad del Sol.
19 That day there wil be an altar dedicated to Yahweh in the centre of Egypt and, close to the frontier, apil ar dedicated to Yahweh,	19 Aquel día, habrá un altar para el Señor en medio del país de Egipto, y una estela para el Señor junto a la frontera.
20 and this will be a sign and a witness to Yahweh Sabaoth in Egypt. When they cry to Yahweh for helpbecause of oppressors, he wil send them a Saviour and leader to deliver them.	20 Esto servirá de señal y de testimonio para el Señor de los ejércitos en el país de Egipto. Cuando ellos clamen al Señor a causa de sus opresores, él les enviará un salvador y un defensor, para que los libre.
21 Yahweh will reveal himself to Egypt, and the Egyptians wil acknowledge Yahweh that day and wiloffer sacrifices and cereal offerings, and wil make vows to Yahweh and perform them.	21 El Señor se dará a conocer a los egipcios, y los egipcios conocerán al Señor en aquel día. Lo servirán con sacrificios y oblaciones; harán votos al Señor y los cumplirán.
22 And if Yahweh strikes Egypt, having struck he wil heal, and they wil turn to Yahweh who wil heartheir prayers and heal them.	22 El Señor herirá a Egipto, pero sólo para sanarlo. Ellos se volverán al Señor, y él los escuchará y los sanará.
23 That day there wil be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. Assyria will have access to Egypt and Egypthave access to Assyria. Egypt wil serve with Assyria.	23 Aquel día, habrá un camino entre Egipto y Asiria: los asirios irán a Egipto, y los egipcios a Asiria; y Egipto rendirá culto junto con Asiria.
24 That day Israel will make a third with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing at the centre of the world,
25 and Yahweh Sabaoth wil bless them in the words, 'Blessed be my people Egypt, Assyria my creation,and Israel my heritage.'
