Sirach 36

NEW JERUSALEM	EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL
1 Take pity on us, Master, Lord of the universe, look at us, spread fear of yourself throughout al othernations.	1 Rette uns, du Gott des Alls,
2 Raise your hand against the foreign nations and let them see your might.	2 und wirf deinen Schrecken auf alle Völker!
3 As, in their sight, you have proved yourself holy to us, so now, in our sight, prove yourself great to them.	3 Schwing deine Hand gegen das fremde Volk, damit es deine mächtigen Taten sieht.
4 Let them acknowledge you, just as we have acknowledged that there is no God but you, Lord.	4 Wie du dich an uns vor ihren Augen als heilig bezeugt hast, so verherrliche dich an ihnen vor unseren Augen,
5 Send new portents, do fresh wonders, win glory for your hand and your right arm.	5 damit sie erkennen, wie wir es erkannten: Es gibt keinen Gott außer dir.
6 Rouse your fury, pour out your rage, destroy the opponent, annihilate the enemy.	6 Erneuere die Zeichen, wiederhole die Wunder,
7 Hasten the day, remember the oath, and let people tell of your mighty deeds.	7 zeige die Macht deiner Hand und die Kraft deines rechten Armes!
8 Let fiery wrath swal ow up the survivor, and destruction overtake those who oppress your people.	8 Weck deinen Zorn, ergieß deinen Groll,
9 Crush the heads of hostile rulers who say, 'There is no one else but us!'	9 beuge den Gegner, wirf den Feind zu Boden!
10 Gather together all the tribes of Jacob, restore them their heritage as at the beginning.	10 Beschleunige das Ende und schau auf die Zeit! Denn wer darf zu dir sagen: Was tust du?
11 Take pity, Lord, on the people cal ed by your name, on Israel whom you have made your first-born.	11 Wer entkommt, der werde von der Glut deines Zornes verzehrt, die Peiniger deines Volkes sollen zugrunde gehen.
12 Have compassion on your holy city, on Jerusalem, the place where you rest.	12 Bring das Haupt der Fürsten Moabs zum Schweigen, das sagt: Es gibt keinen außer mir.
13 Fil Zion with your praises and your sanctuary with your glory.	13 Sammle alle Stämme Jakobs,
14 Vindicate those whom you created first, fulfil what has been prophesied in your name.	14 []
15 Give those who wait for you their reward, let your prophets be proved true.	15 []
16 Grant, Lord, the prayer of your servants, in the terms of Aaron's blessing on your people,	16 verteil den Erbbesitz wie in den Tagen der Vorzeit!

19 As the palate discerns the flavour of game, so a shrewd listener detects lying words.	19 Erfülle Zion mit deinem Glanz und deinen Tempel mit deiner Herrlichkeit!
20 A perverse character causes depression in others; it needs experience to know how to repay such aone.	20 Leg Zeugnis ab für das, was du ehedem verfügt hast; erfülle die Weissagung, die in deinem Namen ergangen ist.
21 A woman wil accept any husband, but some daughters are better than others.	21 Gib allen ihren Lohn, die auf dich hoffen, und bestätige so deine Propheten!
22 A woman's beauty delights the beholder, a man likes nothing better.	22 Erhöre das Gebet deiner Diener; du hast doch Gefallen an deinem Volk. Alle Enden der Erde sollen erkennen: Du bist der ewige Gott.
23 If her tongue is kind and gentle, her husband is the happiest of men.	23 Der Hals schluckt jede Speise, doch die eine Speise schmeckt besser als die andere.
24 The man who takes a wife has the makings of a fortune, a helper to match himself, a pil ar of support.	24 Der Gaumen prüft geschenkte Leckerbissen, das kluge Herz die Leckerbissen der Lüge.
25 When property has no fence, it is open to plunder, when a man has no wife, he is aimless andquerulous.	25 Ein tückischer Sinn verursacht Leid, doch ein kluger Mann gibt es ihm zurück.
26 Wil anyone trust an armed thief who flits from town to town?	26 Eine Frau nimmt jeden beliebigen Mann, doch die eine Frau ist schöner als die andere.
27 So it is with the man who has no nest, and lodges wherever night overtakes him.	27 Eine schöne Frau macht das Gesicht strahlend, sie übertrifft alle Lust der Augen.
	28 Hat sie dazu noch eine friedfertige Sprache, so zählt ihr Gatte nicht zu den gewöhnlichen Menschen.
	29 Wer eine Frau gewinnt, macht den besten Gewinn: eine Hilfe, die ihm entspricht, eine stützende Säule.
	30 Fehlt die Mauer, so wird der Weinberg verwüstet, fehlt die Frau, ist einer rastlos und ruhelos.
	31 Wer traut einer Horde Soldaten, die dahinstürmt von Stadt zu Stadt? So steht es mit einem Mann, der kein Heim hat: Er geht zur Ruhe, wo es gerade Abend wird.
