2 Yahweh loves his city, he prefers the gates of Zion to any dwel ing-place in Jacob.	2 lieb hat der HERR die Tore Zionsmehr als alle (anderen) Wohnstätten Jakobs.
3 He speaks of glory for you, city of God,Pause	3 Herrliches ist von dir berichtet, du Gottesstadt. SELA.
4 'I number Rahab and Babylon among those that acknowledge me; look at Tyre, Philistia, Ethiopia, soand so was born there.'	4 »Ich nenne Ägypten und Babel als meine Bekenner,hier das Philisterland und Tyrus samt Äthiopien –nämlich wer dort seine Heimat hat.«
5 But of Zion it wil be said, 'Every one was born there,' her guarantee is the Most High.	5 Doch von Zion heißt es: »Mann für Mann hat dort seine Heimat,und er selbst, der Höchste, macht es stark (oder: hat es gegründet).«
6 Yahweh in his register of peoples wil note against each, 'Born there',Pause	6 Der HERR zählt, wenn er die Völker aufschreibt (oder: verzeichnet): »Dieser hat dort seine Heimat.« SELA.
