1 [Prayer Of David] Listen to me, Yahweh, answer me, for I am poor and needy.	1 Preghiera. Di Davide. Tendi l'orecchio, Signore, e rispondimi, poiché sono povero e misero.
2 Guard me, for I am faithful, save your servant who relies on you. You are my God,	2 Custodisci l'anima mia, poiché sono un tuo fedele; salva il tuo servo che spera in te, tu che sei il mio Dio.
3 take pity on me, Lord, for to you I cry al the day.	3 Abbi pietà di me, o Signore, mentre a te grido tutto il giorno.
4 Fil your servant's heart with joy, Lord, for to you I raise up my heart.	4 Fa' lieta l'anima del tuo servo, mentre a te elevo, o Signore, l'anima mia.
5 Lord, you are kind and forgiving, rich in faithful love for al who cal upon you.	5 Sì, o Signore, tu sei buono e concedi il tuo perdono, sei ricco di misericordia con quanti t'invocano.
6 Yahweh, hear my prayer, listen to the sound of my pleading.	6 Tendi l'orecchio, Signore, alla mia preghiera, presta attenzione alla voce della mia supplica.
7 In my day of distress I cal upon you, because you answer me, Lord;	7 Quando l'angoscia mi stringe, io sempre t'invoco, poiché tu mi rispondi.
8 among the gods there is none to compare with you, no great deeds to compare with yours.	8 Nessuno c'è fra gli dèi, o Signore, che sia simile a te; non ci sono opere che siano uguali alle tue.
9 Al nations wil come and adore you, Lord, and give glory to your name.	9 Tutte le genti, quante ne hai create, verranno, o Signore, e si prostreranno davanti a te e renderanno omaggio al tuo nome:
10 For you are great and do marvel ous deeds, you, God, and none other.	10 "Tu sei grande, tu operi prodigi; tu solo sei Dio".
11 Teach me, Yahweh, your ways, that I may not stray from your loyalty; let my heart's one aim be tofear your name.	11 Insegnami la tua via, o Signore: camminerò nella tua fedeltà. Fa' che il mio cuore tema solo il tuo nome.
12 I thank you with al my heart, Lord my God, I wil glorify your name for ever,	12 Ti renderò grazie con tutto il mio cuore, Signore mio Dio, e darò gloria per sempre al tuo nome;
13 for your faithful love for me is so great that you have rescued me from the depths of Sheol.	13 poiché grande è la tua misericordia con me: hai strappato la mia anima dal profondo degli inferi.
14 Arrogant men, God, are rising up against me, a brutal gang is after my life, in their scheme of thingsyou have no place.	14 Arroganti sono insorti contro di me, o Dio, una schiera di violenti hanno attentato alla mia vita; non hanno posto te davanti ai loro occhi.
15 But you, Lord, God of tenderness and mercy, slow to anger, rich in faithful love and loyalty,	15 Ma tu sei, o Signore, un Dio pietoso e pronto alla compassione, lento all'ira e ricco in misericordia e fedeltà.
16 turn to me and pity me. Give to your servant your strength, to the child of your servant your savinghelp,	16 Vieni a me incontro con la tua compassione; concedi al tuo servo la tua forza, salva il figlio della tua ancella.
17 give me a sign of your kindness.	17 Opera per me un segno di benevolenza, affinché quelli che mi odiano rimangano confusi, vedendo che mi hai soccorso e mi hai consolato.
18 My enemies wil see to their shame that you, Yahweh, help and console me.
