1 [Prayer Of David] Listen to me, Yahweh, answer me, for I am poor and needy.	1 Precatio. David. Inclina, Domine, aurem tuam et exaudi me, quoniam inops et pauper sum ego.
2 Guard me, for I am faithful, save your servant who relies on you. You are my God,	2 Custodi animam meam, quoniam sanctus sum; salvum fac servum tuum, Deus meus, sperantem in te
3 take pity on me, Lord, for to you I cry al the day.	3 Miserere mei, Domine, quoniam ad te clamavi tota die.
4 Fil your servant's heart with joy, Lord, for to you I raise up my heart.	4 Laetifica animam servi tui, quoniam ad te, Domine, animam meam levavi.
5 Lord, you are kind and forgiving, rich in faithful love for al who cal upon you.	5 Quoniam tu, Domine, suavis et mitis et multae misericordiae omnibus invocantibus te. -
6 Yahweh, hear my prayer, listen to the sound of my pleading.	6 Auribus percipe, Domine, orationem meam et intende voci deprecationis meae.
7 In my day of distress I cal upon you, because you answer me, Lord;	7 In die tribulationis meae clamavi ad te, quia exaudies me.
8 among the gods there is none to compare with you, no great deeds to compare with yours.	8 Non est similis tui in diis, Domine, et nihil sicut opera tua.
9 Al nations wil come and adore you, Lord, and give glory to your name.	9 Omnes gentes, quascumque fecisti, venient et adorabunt coram te, Domine, et glorificabunt nomen tuum,
10 For you are great and do marvel ous deeds, you, God, and none other.	10 quoniam magnus es tu et faciens mirabilia: tu es Deus solus.
11 Teach me, Yahweh, your ways, that I may not stray from your loyalty; let my heart's one aim be tofear your name.	11 Doce me, Domine, viam tuam, et ingrediar in veritate tua; simplex fac cor meum, ut timeat nomen tuum.
12 I thank you with al my heart, Lord my God, I wil glorify your name for ever,	12 Confitebor tibi, Domine Deus meus, in toto corde meo et glorificabo nomen tuum in aeternum,
13 for your faithful love for me is so great that you have rescued me from the depths of Sheol.	13 quia misericordia tua magna est super me, et eruisti animam meam ex inferno inferiori.
14 Arrogant men, God, are rising up against me, a brutal gang is after my life, in their scheme of thingsyou have no place.	14 Deus, superbi insurrexerunt super me, et synagoga potentium quaesierunt animam meam et non proposuerunt te in conspectu suo.
15 But you, Lord, God of tenderness and mercy, slow to anger, rich in faithful love and loyalty,	15 Et tu, Domine, Deus miserator et misericors, patiens et multae misericordiae et veritatis,
16 turn to me and pity me. Give to your servant your strength, to the child of your servant your savinghelp,	16 respice in me et miserere mei; da fortitudinem tuam puero tuo et salvum fac filium ancillae tuae.
17 give me a sign of your kindness.	17 Fac mecum signum in bonum, ut videant, qui oderunt me, et confundantur, quoniam tu, Domine, adiuvisti me et consolatus es me.
18 My enemies wil see to their shame that you, Yahweh, help and console me.
