Whoever keeps singing of your majesty higher than the heavens,	1 Salmo di David. Signore, Signor nostro, quanta ammirabile è il nome tuo per tutta quanta la terra! Perocché la tua maestà è elevata fin sopra de' cieli.
2 even through the mouths of children, or of babes in arms, you make him a fortress, firm against yourfoes, to subdue the enemy and the rebel.	2 E dalla bocca de' fanciulli, e de' bambini di latte tu bai ricavata per fetta laude contro de' tuoi nemici, per distruggere il nemico, e il vendicativo.
3 I look up at your heavens, shaped by your fingers, at the moon and the stars you set firm-	3 Or io miro i tuoi cieli, opere delle tue dita, la luna, e le stelle disposte da te.
4 what are human beings that you spare a thought for them, or the child of Adam that you care for him?	4 Che è l'uomo, che tu di lui ti ricordi; od il figliuolo dell'uomo, che tu lo visiti?
5 Yet you have made him little less than a god, you have crowned him with glory and beauty,	5 Lo hai fatto per alcun poco inferiore agli Angeli, lo hai coronato di gloria, e di onore,
6 made him lord of the works of your hands, put al things under his feet,	6 E lo hai costituito sopra le opere delle tue mani.
7 sheep and cattle, all of them, and even the wild beasts,	7 Tutte quante le cose hai soggettate a' piedi di lui, le pecore, e i bovi tutti, e le fiere della campagna.
