1 [Poem Of Asaph] God, why have you final y rejected us, your anger blazing against the flock you usedto pasture?	1 Maschil di Asaf O DIO, perchè ci hai scacciati in perpetuo? Perchè fuma l’ira tua contro alla greggia del tuo pasco?
2 Remember the people you took to yourself long ago, your own tribe which you redeemed, and thisMount Zion where you came to live.	2 Ricordati della tua raunanza, la quale tu acquistasti anticamente; Della tribù della tua eredità che tu riscotesti; Del monte di Sion, nel quale tu abitasti.
3 Come up to these endless ruins! The enemy have sacked everything in the sanctuary;	3 Muovi i passi verso le ruine perpetue, Verso tutto il male che i nemici han fatto nel luogo santo.
4 your opponents made uproar in the place of assemblies, they fixed their emblems over the entrance,emblems	4 I tuoi nemici han ruggito in mezzo del tuo Tempio; Vi hanno poste le loro insegne per segnali.
5 never known before. Their axes deep in the wood,	5 Ciò sarà noto; come chi, levando ad alto delle scuri, Le avventa contro a un cespo di legne;
6 hacking at the panels, they battered them down with axe and pick;	6 Così ora hanno essi, con iscuri e martelli, Fracassati tutti quanti gl’intagli di quello.
7 they set fire to your sanctuary, profanely rased to the ground the dwel ing-place of your name.	7 Hanno messi a fuoco e fiamma i tuoi santuari, Hanno profanato il tabernacolo del tuo Nome, gettandolo per terra.
8 They said to themselves, 'Let us crush them at one stroke!' They burned down every sacred shrine inthe land.	8 Hanno detto nel cuor loro: Prediamoli tutti quanti; Hanno arsi tutti i luoghi delle raunanze di Dio in terra.
9 We see no signs, no prophet any more, and none of us knows how long it wil last.	9 Noi non veggiam più i nostri segni; Non vi è più profeta, E non abbiam con noi alcuno che sappia infino a quando.
10 How much longer, God, will the enemy blaspheme? Is the enemy to insult your name for ever?	10 Infino a quando, o Dio, oltraggerà l’avversario? Il nemico dispetterà egli il tuo Nome in perpetuo?
11 Why hold back your hand, keep your right hand hidden in the folds of your robe?	11 Perchè ritiri la tua mano e la tua destra? Non lasciare ch’ella ti dimori più dentro al seno
12 Yet, God, my king from the first, author of saving acts throughout the earth,	12 Ora Iddio già ab antico è il mio Re. Il quale opera salvazioni in mezzo della terra.
13 by your power you split the sea in two, and smashed the heads of the monsters on the waters.	13 Tu, colla tua forza, spartisti il mare; Tu rompesti le teste delle balene nelle acque.
14 You crushed Leviathan's heads, gave him as food to the wild animals.	14 Tu fiaccasti i capi del leviatan, E li desti per pasto al popolo de’ deserti.
15 You released the springs and brooks, and turned primordial rivers into dry land.	15 Tu facesti scoppiar fonti e torrenti; Tu seccasti fiumi grossi.
16 Yours is the day and yours the night, you caused sun and light to exist,	16 Tuo è il giorno, tua eziandio è la notte; Tu hai ordinata la luna e il sole.
17 you fixed all the boundaries of the earth, you created summer and winter.	17 Tu hai posti tutti i termini della terra; Tu hai formata la state ed il verno
18 Remember, Yahweh, the enemy's blasphemy, a foolish people insults your name.	18 Ricordati di questo: che il nemico ha oltraggiato il Signore, E che il popolo stolto ha dispettato il tuo Nome.
19 Do not surrender your turtledove to the beast; do not forget for ever the life of your oppressed people.	19 Non dare alle fiere la vita della tua tortola; Non dimenticare in perpetuo la raunanza de’ tuoi poveri afflitti.
20 Look to the covenant! Al the hiding-places of the land are ful , haunts of violence.	20 Riguarda al Patto, Perciocchè i luoghi tenebrosi della terra sono ripieni di ricetti di violenza.
21 Do not let the downtrodden retreat in confusion, give the poor and needy cause to praise your name.	21 Non ritornisene il misero indietro svergognato; Fa’ che il povero afflitto e il bisognoso lodino il tuo Nome.
22 Arise, God, champion your own cause, remember how fools blaspheme you all day long!	22 Levati, o Dio, dibatti la tua lite; Ricordati dell’oltraggio che ti è fatto tuttodì dallo stolto.
23 Do not forget the shouting of your enemies, the ever-mounting uproar of your adversaries.	23 Non dimenticar le grida de’ tuoi nemici; Lo strepito di quelli che si levano contro a te sale del continuo al cielo
