1 [Poem Of Asaph] God, why have you final y rejected us, your anger blazing against the flock you usedto pasture?	1 Poema. De Asaf. ¿Por qué has de rechazar, oh Dios, por siempre, por qué humear de cólera contra el rebaño de tu pasto?
2 Remember the people you took to yourself long ago, your own tribe which you redeemed, and thisMount Zion where you came to live.	2 Acuérdate de la comunidad que de antiguo adquiriste, la que tú rescataste, tribu de tu heredad, y del monte Sión donde pusiste tu morada.
3 Come up to these endless ruins! The enemy have sacked everything in the sanctuary;	3 Guía tus pasos a estas ruinas sin fin: todo en el santuario lo ha devastado el enemigo.
4 your opponents made uproar in the place of assemblies, they fixed their emblems over the entrance,emblems	4 En el lugar de tus reuniones rugieron tus adversarios, pusieron sus enseñas, enseñas
5 never known before. Their axes deep in the wood,	5 que no se conocían, en el frontón de la entrada. Machetes en bosque espeso,
6 hacking at the panels, they battered them down with axe and pick;	6 a una cercenaban sus jambas, y con hacha y martillo desgajaban.
7 they set fire to your sanctuary, profanely rased to the ground the dwel ing-place of your name.	7 Prendieron fuego a tu santuario, por tierra profanaron la mansión de tu nombre.
8 They said to themselves, 'Let us crush them at one stroke!' They burned down every sacred shrine inthe land.	8 Dijeron en su corazón: «¡Destruyámoslos en bloque!» Quemaron en la tierra todo lugar de santa reunión.
9 We see no signs, no prophet any more, and none of us knows how long it wil last.	9 No vemos nuestras enseñas, no existen ya profetas, ni nadie entre nosotros que sepa hasta cuándo.
10 How much longer, God, will the enemy blaspheme? Is the enemy to insult your name for ever?	10 ¿Hasta cuándo, oh Dios, provocará el adversario? ¿Ultrajará tu nombre por siempre el enemigo?
11 Why hold back your hand, keep your right hand hidden in the folds of your robe?	11 ¿Por qué retraes tu mano, y en tu seno retienes escondida tu diestra?
12 Yet, God, my king from the first, author of saving acts throughout the earth,	12 Oh Dios, mi rey desde el principio, autor de salvación en medio de la tierra,
13 by your power you split the sea in two, and smashed the heads of the monsters on the waters.	13 tú hendiste el mar con tu poder, quebraste las cabezas de los montruos en las aguas;
14 You crushed Leviathan's heads, gave him as food to the wild animals.	14 tú machacaste las cabezas de Leviatán y las hiciste pasto de las fieras;
15 You released the springs and brooks, and turned primordial rivers into dry land.	15 tú abriste manantiales y torrentes, y secaste ríos inagotables;
16 Yours is the day and yours the night, you caused sun and light to exist,	16 tuyo es el día, tuya también la noche, tú la luna y el sol estableciste,
17 you fixed all the boundaries of the earth, you created summer and winter.	17 tú trazaste todos los confines de la tierra, el verano y el invierno tú formaste.
18 Remember, Yahweh, the enemy's blasphemy, a foolish people insults your name.	18 Recuérdalo, Yahveh: provoca el enemigo, tu nombre ultraja un pueblo necio.
19 Do not surrender your turtledove to the beast; do not forget for ever the life of your oppressed people.	19 No entregues a la bestia el alma de tu tórtola, la vida de tus pobres no olvides para siempre.
20 Look to the covenant! Al the hiding-places of the land are ful , haunts of violence.	20 Piensa en la alianza, que están llenos los rincones del país de guaridas de violencia.
21 Do not let the downtrodden retreat in confusion, give the poor and needy cause to praise your name.	21 ¡No vuelva cubierto de vergüenza el oprimido; el humilde y el pobre puedan loar tu nombre!
22 Arise, God, champion your own cause, remember how fools blaspheme you all day long!	22 ¡Alzate, oh Dios, a defender tu causa, acuérdate del necio que te provoca todo el día!
23 Do not forget the shouting of your enemies, the ever-mounting uproar of your adversaries.	23 No olvides el griterío de tus adversarios, el clamor de tus agresores que crece sin cesar!
