1 [Poem Of Asaph] God, why have you final y rejected us, your anger blazing against the flock you usedto pasture?	1 Maskil. Di Asaf.O Dio, perché ci respingi per sempre,fumante di colleracontro il gregge del tuo pascolo?
2 Remember the people you took to yourself long ago, your own tribe which you redeemed, and thisMount Zion where you came to live.	2 Ricòrdati della comunitàche ti sei acquistata nei tempi antichi.Hai riscattato la tribù che è tua proprietà,il monte Sion, dove hai preso dimora.
3 Come up to these endless ruins! The enemy have sacked everything in the sanctuary;	3 Volgi i tuoi passi a queste rovine eterne:il nemico ha devastato tutto nel santuario.
4 your opponents made uproar in the place of assemblies, they fixed their emblems over the entrance,emblems	4 Ruggirono i tuoi avversari nella tua assemblea,issarono le loro bandiere come insegna.
5 never known before. Their axes deep in the wood,	5 Come gente che s’apre un varco verso l’altocon la scure nel folto della selva,
6 hacking at the panels, they battered them down with axe and pick;	6 con l’ascia e con le mazzefrantumavano le sue porte.
7 they set fire to your sanctuary, profanely rased to the ground the dwel ing-place of your name.	7 Hanno dato alle fiamme il tuo santuario,hanno profanato e demolito la dimora del tuo nome;
8 They said to themselves, 'Let us crush them at one stroke!' They burned down every sacred shrine inthe land.	8 pensavano: «Distruggiamoli tutti».Hanno incendiato nel paese tutte le dimore di Dio.
9 We see no signs, no prophet any more, and none of us knows how long it wil last.	9 Non vediamo più le nostre bandiere,non ci sono più profetie tra noi nessuno sa fino a quando.
10 How much longer, God, will the enemy blaspheme? Is the enemy to insult your name for ever?	10 Fino a quando, o Dio, insulterà l’avversario?Il nemico disprezzerà per sempre il tuo nome?
11 Why hold back your hand, keep your right hand hidden in the folds of your robe?	11 Perché ritiri la tua manoe trattieni in seno la tua destra?
12 Yet, God, my king from the first, author of saving acts throughout the earth,	12 Eppure Dio è nostro re dai tempi antichi,ha operato la salvezza nella nostra terra.
13 by your power you split the sea in two, and smashed the heads of the monsters on the waters.	13 Tu con potenza hai diviso il mare,hai spezzato la testa dei draghi sulle acque.
14 You crushed Leviathan's heads, gave him as food to the wild animals.	14 Tu hai frantumato le teste di Leviatàn,lo hai dato in pasto a un branco di belve.
15 You released the springs and brooks, and turned primordial rivers into dry land.	15 Tu hai fatto scaturire fonti e torrenti,tu hai inaridito fiumi perenni.
16 Yours is the day and yours the night, you caused sun and light to exist,	16 Tuo è il giorno e tua è la notte,tu hai fissato la luna e il sole;
17 you fixed all the boundaries of the earth, you created summer and winter.	17 tu hai stabilito i confini della terra,l’estate e l’inverno tu li hai plasmati.
18 Remember, Yahweh, the enemy's blasphemy, a foolish people insults your name.	18 Ricòrdati di questo:il nemico ha insultato il Signore,un popolo stolto ha disprezzato il tuo nome.
19 Do not surrender your turtledove to the beast; do not forget for ever the life of your oppressed people.	19 Non abbandonare ai rapaci la vita della tua tortora,non dimenticare per sempre la vita dei tuoi poveri.
20 Look to the covenant! Al the hiding-places of the land are ful , haunts of violence.	20 Volgi lo sguardo alla tua alleanza;gli angoli della terra sono covi di violenza.
21 Do not let the downtrodden retreat in confusion, give the poor and needy cause to praise your name.	21 L’oppresso non ritorni confuso,il povero e il misero lodino il tuo nome.
22 Arise, God, champion your own cause, remember how fools blaspheme you all day long!	22 Àlzati, o Dio, difendi la mia causa,ricorda che lo stolto ti insulta tutto il giorno.
23 Do not forget the shouting of your enemies, the ever-mounting uproar of your adversaries.	23 Non dimenticare il clamore dei tuoi nemici;il tumulto dei tuoi avversari cresce senza fine.
