NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 [Poem Of Asaph] God, why have you final y rejected us, your anger blazing against the flock you usedto pasture?	1 Poema de Asaf. ¿Por qué, oh Dios, nos rechazaste para siempre y arde tu indignación contra las ovejas de tu rebaño?
2 Remember the people you took to yourself long ago, your own tribe which you redeemed, and thisMount Zion where you came to live.	2 Acuérdate de pueblo que adquiriste en otro tiempo, de la tribu que rescataste para convertirla en tu herencia; acuérdate de Sión, donde pusiste tu Morada.
3 Come up to these endless ruins! The enemy have sacked everything in the sanctuary;	3 Vuelve tus pasos hacia esta ruina completa: todo lo destruyó el enemigo en el Santuario.
4 your opponents made uproar in the place of assemblies, they fixed their emblems over the entrance,emblems	4 Rugieron tus adversarios en el lugar de tu asamblea, pusieron como señales sus propios estandartes.
5 never known before. Their axes deep in the wood,	5 Alzaron sus hachas como en la espesura de la selva;
6 hacking at the panels, they battered them down with axe and pick;	6 destrozaron de un golpe todos los adornos, los deshicieron con martillos y machetes;
7 they set fire to your sanctuary, profanely rased to the ground the dwel ing-place of your name.	7 prendieron fuego a tu Santuario, profanaron, hasta arrasarla, la Morada de tu Nombre.
8 They said to themselves, 'Let us crush them at one stroke!' They burned down every sacred shrine inthe land.	8 Habían pensado: «Acabemos con ellos, quememos todos los templos de Dios en el país».
9 We see no signs, no prophet any more, and none of us knows how long it wil last.	9 Ya no vemos señales ni quedan profetas: no hay nadie entre nosotros que sepa hasta cuándo.
10 How much longer, God, will the enemy blaspheme? Is the enemy to insult your name for ever?	10 ¿Hasta cuándo, oh Dios, te insultará el enemigo? ¿Nunca cesará el adversario de despreciar tu Nombre?
11 Why hold back your hand, keep your right hand hidden in the folds of your robe?	11 ¿Por qué retiras tu mano, Señor, y la mantienes oculta en el pecho?
12 Yet, God, my king from the first, author of saving acts throughout the earth,	12 Pero tú, oh Dios, eres mi Rey desde el principio, tú lograste victorias en medio de la tierra:
13 by your power you split the sea in two, and smashed the heads of the monsters on the waters.	13 deshiciste el Mar con tu poder y quebraste las cabezas del dragón marino;
14 You crushed Leviathan's heads, gave him as food to the wild animals.	14 aplastaste las cabezas de Leviatán y lo diste como alimento a las fieras del desierto.
15 You released the springs and brooks, and turned primordial rivers into dry land.	15 Hiciste brotar manantiales y torrentes, secaste los ríos caudalosos;
16 Yours is the day and yours the night, you caused sun and light to exist,	16 tuyo es el día, tuya también la noche, tú afirmaste la luna y el sol;
17 you fixed all the boundaries of the earth, you created summer and winter.	17 fijaste las fronteras de la tierra, formaste el verano y el invierno.
18 Remember, Yahweh, the enemy's blasphemy, a foolish people insults your name.	18 Recuerda, Señor, que el enemigo te ha ultrajado, un pueblo insensato ha despreciado tu Nombre:
19 Do not surrender your turtledove to the beast; do not forget for ever the life of your oppressed people.	19 no entregues a los buitres la vida de tu Paloma ni te olvides para siempre de los pobres.
20 Look to the covenant! Al the hiding-places of the land are ful , haunts of violence.	20 Ten presente tu alianza, porque todos los rincones del país están repletos de violencia.
21 Do not let the downtrodden retreat in confusion, give the poor and needy cause to praise your name.	21 Que el débil no retroceda lleno de confusión, que el pobre y el oprimido alaben tu Nombre.
22 Arise, God, champion your own cause, remember how fools blaspheme you all day long!	22 Levántate, oh Dios, defiende tu causa, recuerda que el insensato te ultraja sin cesar.
23 Do not forget the shouting of your enemies, the ever-mounting uproar of your adversaries.	23 No olvides los gritos de tus adversarios, porque crece el tumulto de los que se alzan contra ti.
