NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 [For the choirmaster Song Psalm] Acclaim God, al the earth,	1 Du maître de chant. Cantique.Psaume. Acclamez Dieu, toute la terre,
2 sing psalms to the glory of his name, glorify him with your praises,	2 chantez à la gloire de son nom, rendez-lui sa louange de gloire,
3 say to God, 'How awesome you are! 'Your achievements are the measure of your power, yourenemies woo your favour,	3 dites à Dieu: Que tu es redoutable! A la mesure de ta force, tes oeuvres. Tes ennemis se font tesflatteurs;
4 al the earth bows down before you, sings psalms to you, sings psalms to your name.'Pause	4 toute la terre se prosterne devant toi, elle te chante, elle chante pour ton nom.
5 Come and see the marvels of God, his awesome deeds for the children of Adam:	5 Venez, voyez les gestes de Dieu, redoutable en hauts faits pour les fils d'Adam:
6 he changed the sea into dry land, they crossed the river on foot. So let us rejoice in him,	6 il changea la mer en terre ferme, on passa le fleuve à pied sec. Là, notre joie en lui,
7 who rules for ever by his power; his eyes keep watch on the nations to forestal rebel ion againsthim.Pause	7 souverain de puissance éternelle! Les yeux sur les nations, il veille, sur les rebelles pour qu'ils ne serelèvent.
8 Nations, bless our God, let the sound of his praise be heard;	8 Peuples, bénissez notre Dieu, donnez une voix à sa louange,
9 he brings us to life and keeps our feet from stumbling.	9 lui qui rend notre âme à la vie, et préserve nos pieds du faux pas.
10 God, you have put us to the test, refined us like silver,	10 Tu nous as éprouvés, ô Dieu, épurés comme on épure l'argent;
11 let us fal into the net; you have put a heavy strain on our backs,	11 tu nous as fait tomber dans le filet, tu as mis sur nos reins une étreinte;
12 let men ride over our heads; but now the ordeal by fire and water is over, you have led us out tobreathe again.	12 tu fis chevaucher à notre tête un mortel; nous passions par le feu et par l'eau, puis tu nous as faitreprendre haleine.
13 I bring burnt offerings to your house, I fulfil to you my vows,	13 Je viens en ta maison avec des holocaustes, j'acquitte envers toi mes voeux,
14 the vows that rose to my lips, that I pronounced when I was in trouble.	14 ceux qui m'ouvrirent les lèvres, que prononçait ma bouche en mon angoisse.
15 I wil offer you rich burnt offerings, with the smoke of burning rams. I wil sacrifice to you bul ocks andgoats.Pause	15 Je t'offrirai de gras holocaustes avec la fumée des béliers, je le ferai avec des taureaux et desboucs.
16 Come and listen, all who fear God, while I tel what he has done for me.	16 Venez, écoutez, que je raconte, vous tous les craignant-dieu, ce qu'il a fait pour mon âme.
17 To him I cried aloud, high praise was on my tongue.	17 Vers lui ma bouche a crié, l'éloge déjà sur ma langue.
18 Had I been aware of guilt in my heart, the Lord would not have listened,	18 Si j'avais vu de la malice en mon coeur, le Seigneur ne m'eût point écouté.
19 but in fact God did listen, attentive to the sound of my prayer.	19 Et pourtant Dieu m'a écouté, attentif à la voix de ma prière.
20 Blessed be God who has not turned away my prayer, nor his own faithful love from me.	20 Béni soit Dieu qui n'a pas écarté ma prière ni son amour loin de moi.
