Ode. Di David, quando se ne fuggì lontano da Saul in una spelonca.
2 Those who harry me lie in wait for me al day, countless are those who attack me from the heights.	2 Abbi pietà di me, o Dio, abbi pietà di me, perchè in te confida l'anima mia, e all'ombra delle tue ali io mi rifugio, sino a che passi la calamità.
3 When I am afraid, I put my trust in you,	3 Io grido a Dio, all'Altissimo, al Dio che mi benefica.
4 in God, whose word I praise, in God I put my trust and have no fear, what power has human strengthover me?	4 Egli manderà dal cielo [il suo aiuto] e mi libereràe abbandonerà al vituperio i miei oppressori. Iddio manderà giù il suo favore e la sua fedeltà,
5 Al day long they carp at my words, their only thought is to harm me,	5 e strapperà l'anima mia di mezzo a' giovani leoni. Mi addormento [benchè] turbato![Mi trovo tra] uomini i cui denti son lance e frecce e la loro lingua una spada affidata.
6 they gather together, lie in wait and spy on my movements, as though determined to take my life.	6 Sii esaltato al di sopra de' cieli, o Dio, e per tutta la terra [si spanda] la tua gloria.
7 Because of this crime reject them, in your anger, God, strike down the nations.	7 Un laccio avevan teso a' miei piedi, e avevan curvato l'anima mia. Avevan scavato una fossa davanti a me, e ci son caduti dentro!
8 You yourself have counted up my sorrows, col ect my tears in your wineskin.	8 Pronto è il mio cuore, o Dio, pronto è il mio cuore; canterò e inneggerò:
9 Then my enemies wil turn back on the day when I cal . This I know, that God is on my side.	9 Sorgi gloria mia!sorgi arpa e cetra! Vo' destarmi all'aurora.
10 In God whose word I praise, in Yahweh whose word I praise,	10 Ti celebrerò tra i popoli, o Signore, e inneggerò a te tra le genti.
11 in God I put my trust and have no fear; what can mortal man do to me?	11 Perchè s'inalza sino al cielo la tua misericordia, e sino alle nubi la tua fedeltà.
12 I am bound by the vows I have made, God, I will pay you the debt of thanks,	12 Sii esaltato al di sopra de' cieli, o Dio, e su tutta la terra [si spanda] la tua gloria.
13 for you have saved my life from death to walk in the presence of God, in the light of the living.
