NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 [Of David] Accuse my accusers, Yahweh, attack my attackers.	1 Di Davide. Scendi in giudizio, o Signore, contro quelli che mi accusano; combatti contro quelli che mi avversano.
2 Grasp your buckler and shield, up, and help me.	2 Impugna lo scudo e la corazza e sorgi in mia difesa.
3 Brandish spear and pike to confront my pursuers, give me the assurance, 'I am your Saviour.'	3 Brandisci la lancia e sbarra il passo di fronte a quelli che m'inseguono. Di' all'anima mia: "Sono io la tua salvezza!".
4 Shame and humiliation on those who are out to kil me! Defeat and repulse in dismay on those whoplot my downfal .	4 Restino confusi e coperti di vergogna quelli che cercano l'anima mia; indietreggino disfatti quanti tramano la mia rovina.
5 May they be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of Yahweh to chase them.	5 Siano come pula davanti al vento, scacciati dall'angelo del Signore.
6 May their way be dark and slippery, with the angel of Yahweh to hound them.	6 Tenebrosa e scivolosa sia la loro via, incalzati dall'angelo del Signore.
7 Unprovoked they laid their snare for me, unprovoked dug a trap to kill me.	7 Poiché senza motivo la loro rete hanno teso per me, senza motivo la fossa hanno scavato per l'anima mia.
8 Ruin comes upon them unawares; the snare they have laid wil catch them, and into their own trapthey will fal .	8 Rovina inattesa lo colga, la rete che egli ha teso lo prenda, cada in essa con rovina.
9 Then I shal delight in Yahweh, rejoice that he has saved me.	9 Ma l'anima mia esulterà nel Signore, giubilerà della sua salvezza.
10 My very bones wil al exclaim, Yahweh, who can compare with you in rescuing the poor from theoppressor; the needy from the exploiter?	10 Tutte le mie ossa diranno: "Chi è come te, o Signore, che liberi il misero da chi è più forte di lui, e il povero da colui che lo rapina?".
11 False witnesses come forward against me asking me questions I cannot answer, they cross-examineme,	11 Stanno sorgendo testimoni di nequizia, mi chiedono conto di ciò che ignoro;
12 repay my kindness with cruelty, make my life barren.	12 mi ripagano con il male in luogo del bene. Desolazione per l'anima mia!
13 But I, when they were il , had worn sackcloth, and mortified myself with fasting, praying ever anew inmy heart,	13 Io, invece, nella loro infermità mi vestivo di sacco, affliggevo nel digiuno l'anima mia, echeggiava nel mio seno la mia preghiera
14 as if for a friend or brother; I had wandered restless, as if mourning a mother, so bowed had I been insorrow.	14 come per un compagno, come per un fratello. Sono andato in giro come chi è in lutto per la propria madre, triste, a capo chino.
15 When I stumble they gather in glee, gather around me; strangers I never even knew tear me apartincessantly.	15 Ma al mio vacillare hanno gioito e si son radunati, contro di me si son radunati; stranieri che non conoscevo hanno fatto scempio di me senza sosta.
16 If I fal they surround me, grinding their teeth at me.	16 Mi tentano, mi deridono, digrignando contro di me i loro denti.
17 How much longer, Lord, will you look on? Rescue me from their onslaughts, from young lions rescuethe one life that I have.	17 Fino a quando, o Signore, rimarrai a guardare? Strappa la mia anima da belve ruggenti, da leoncelli me desolato.
18 I wil give you thanks in the great assembly praise you where the people gather.	18 Ti celebrerò nella grande assemblea, e ti loderò fra popolo numeroso.
19 Let not my lying enemies gloat over me; those who hate me unprovoked look askance at me.	19 Non si rallegrino su di me i miei nemici menzogneri e non strizzino l'occhio quanti mi odiano senza ragione.
20 They have no greeting of peace to the peace-loving people of the land; they think up deceptivespeeches.	20 Sì, essi non parlano di pace e contro i pacifici della terra piani di perfidia essi stanno tramando;
21 Their mouths wide open to accuse me, they say, 'Come on now, we saw you.'	21 spalancano contro di me la loro bocca e dicono: "Ah, ah! Ha visto il nostro occhio".
22 You saw it, Yahweh, do not stay silent; Lord, do not stand aloof from me.	22 Tu hai visto, o Signore, non restartene muto; o Signore, non rimanere lontano da me.
23 Up, awake, to my defence, my God and my Lord, to my cause.	23 Déstati, mio Dio, per il mio giudizio; sorgi, o Signore, per la mia causa.
24 In your saving justice give judgement for me, Yahweh my God, and do not let them gloat over me.	24 Giudicami secondo la mia giustizia, o Signore mio Dio. Non si rallegrino su di me.
25 Do not let them think, 'Just as we hoped,' nor, 'Now we have swal owed him up.'	25 Non dicano nei loro cuori: "E' questa la nostra brama!". Non dicano: "L'abbiamo sopraffatto!".
26 Shame and dismay on them al who gloat over my misfortunes. Let al who profit at my expense becovered with shame and disgrace.	26 Siano confusi tutti insieme e coperti di vergogna quanti s'allietano del mio male; di rossore si vestano e d'ignominia quanti su di me s'insuperbiscono.
27 But let al who delight in my uprightness shout for joy and gladness; let them constantly say, 'Great isYahweh, who delights to see his servant in peace.'	27 Giubilino e si rallegrino invece quelli che amano la mia giustizia; possano dire sempre: "Sia magnificato il Signore che si prende cura della pace del suo servo!".
28 And my tongue shal recount your saving justice, al day long sing your praise.	28 La mia lingua proclamerà la tua giustizia, tutto il giorno la tua lode.
