Psalms 35

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 [Of David] Accuse my accusers, Yahweh, attack my attackers.	1 De David. Accuse, Yahvé, mes accusateurs, assaille mes assaillants;
2 Grasp your buckler and shield, up, and help me.	2 prends armure et bouclier et te lève à mon aide;
3 Brandish spear and pike to confront my pursuers, give me the assurance, 'I am your Saviour.'	3 brandis la lance et la pique contre mes poursuivants. Dis à mon âme: "C'est moi ton salut."
4 Shame and humiliation on those who are out to kil me! Defeat and repulse in dismay on those whoplot my downfal .	4 Honte et déshonneur sur ceux-là qui cherchent mon âme! Arrière! qu'ils reculent confondus, ceuxqui ruminent mon malheur!
5 May they be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of Yahweh to chase them.	5 Qu'ils soient de la bale au vent, l'ange de Yahvé les poussant,
6 May their way be dark and slippery, with the angel of Yahweh to hound them.	6 que leur chemin soit ténèbre et glissade, l'ange de Yahvé les poursuivant!
7 Unprovoked they laid their snare for me, unprovoked dug a trap to kill me.	7 Sans raison ils m'ont tendu leur filet, creusé pour moi une fosse,
8 Ruin comes upon them unawares; the snare they have laid wil catch them, and into their own trapthey will fal .	8 la ruine vient sur eux sans qu'ils le sachent; le filet qu'ils ont tendu les prendra, dans la fosse ilstomberont.
9 Then I shal delight in Yahweh, rejoice that he has saved me.	9 Et mon âme exultera en Yahvé, jubilera en son salut.
10 My very bones wil al exclaim, Yahweh, who can compare with you in rescuing the poor from theoppressor; the needy from the exploiter?	10 Tous mes os diront: Yahvé, qui est comme toi pour délivrer le petit du plus fort, le pauvre duspoliateur?
11 False witnesses come forward against me asking me questions I cannot answer, they cross-examineme,	11 Des témoins de mensonge se lèvent, que je ne connais pas. On me questionne,
12 repay my kindness with cruelty, make my life barren.	12 on me rend le mal pour le bien, ma vie devient stérile.
13 But I, when they were il , had worn sackcloth, and mortified myself with fasting, praying ever anew inmy heart,	13 Et moi, pendant leurs maladies, vêtu d'un sac, je m'humiliais par le jeûne, ma prière revenant dansmon sein,
14 as if for a friend or brother; I had wandered restless, as if mourning a mother, so bowed had I been insorrow.	14 comme pour un ami, pour un frère, j'allais çà et là; comme en deuil d'une mère, assombri je mecourbais.
15 When I stumble they gather in glee, gather around me; strangers I never even knew tear me apartincessantly.	15 Ils se rient de ma chute, ils s'attroupent, ils s'attroupent contre moi; des étrangers, sans que je lesache, déchirent sans répit;
16 If I fal they surround me, grinding their teeth at me.	16 si je tombe, ils m'encerclent, ils grincent des dents contre moi.
17 How much longer, Lord, will you look on? Rescue me from their onslaughts, from young lions rescuethe one life that I have.	17 Seigneur, combien de temps verras-tu cela? Soustrais mon âme à leurs ravages, aux lionceauxmon unique.
18 I wil give you thanks in the great assembly praise you where the people gather.	18 Je rendrai grâce dans la grande assemblée, dans un peuple nombreux je te louerai.
19 Let not my lying enemies gloat over me; those who hate me unprovoked look askance at me.	19 Que ne puissent rire de moi ceux qui m'en veulent à tort, ni se faire des clins d'oeil ceux qui mehaïssent sans cause!
20 They have no greeting of peace to the peace-loving people of the land; they think up deceptivespeeches.	20 Ce n'est point de la paix qu'ils parlent aux paisibles de la terre; ils ruminent de perfides paroles,
21 Their mouths wide open to accuse me, they say, 'Come on now, we saw you.'	21 la bouche large ouverte contre moi; ils disent: Ha! ha! notre oeil a vu!
22 You saw it, Yahweh, do not stay silent; Lord, do not stand aloof from me.	22 Tu as vu, Yahvé, ne te tais plus, Seigneur, ne sois pas loin de moi;
23 Up, awake, to my defence, my God and my Lord, to my cause.	23 éveille-toi, lève-toi, pour mon droit, Seigneur mon Dieu, pour ma cause;
24 In your saving justice give judgement for me, Yahweh my God, and do not let them gloat over me.	24 juge-moi selon ta justice, Yahvé mon Dieu, qu'ils ne se rient de moi!
25 Do not let them think, 'Just as we hoped,' nor, 'Now we have swal owed him up.'	25 Qu'ils ne disent en leur coeur: Ha! ma foi! qu'ils ne disent: Nous l'avons englouti!
26 Shame and dismay on them al who gloat over my misfortunes. Let al who profit at my expense becovered with shame and disgrace.	26 Honte et déshonneur ensemble sur ceux qui rient de mon malheur; que honte et confusion lescouvrent, ceux qui se grandissent à mes dépens!
27 But let al who delight in my uprightness shout for joy and gladness; let them constantly say, 'Great isYahweh, who delights to see his servant in peace.'	27 Rires et cris de joie pour ceux-là que réjouit ma justice, ceux-là, qu'ils disent constamment:"Grand est Yahvé que réjouit la paix de son serviteur! "
28 And my tongue shal recount your saving justice, al day long sing your praise.	28 Et ma langue redira ta justice, tout le jour, ta louange.
