NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 [Of David] Accuse my accusers, Yahweh, attack my attackers.	1 Salmo di Davide O SIGNORE, contendi con quelli che contendono meco; Guerreggia con quelli che guerreggiano meco.
2 Grasp your buckler and shield, up, and help me.	2 Prendi lo scudo e la targa; E levati in mio aiuto.
3 Brandish spear and pike to confront my pursuers, give me the assurance, 'I am your Saviour.'	3 E trai fuori la lancia, e serra il passo a quelli che mi perseguitano; Di’ all’anima mia: Io son la tua salute.
4 Shame and humiliation on those who are out to kil me! Defeat and repulse in dismay on those whoplot my downfal .	4 Sien confusi e svergognati quelli che cercano l’anima mia; Voltin le spalle, e sieno svergognati Quelli che macchinano del male contro a me.
5 May they be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of Yahweh to chase them.	5 Sien come pula al vento, E caccili l’Angelo del Signore.
6 May their way be dark and slippery, with the angel of Yahweh to hound them.	6 Sia la via loro tutta tenebre, e sdruccioli; E perseguali l’Angelo del Signore.
7 Unprovoked they laid their snare for me, unprovoked dug a trap to kill me.	7 Perciocchè senza cagione hanno fatta una fossa nascosta, Per tendervi la lor rete; Senza cagione l’hanno cavata all’anima mia.
8 Ruin comes upon them unawares; the snare they have laid wil catch them, and into their own trapthey will fal .	8 Venga loro una sprovveduta ruina, E sieno presi colla lor propria rete che hanno tesa di nascosto, E cadano nella ruina che mi hanno apparecchiata.
9 Then I shal delight in Yahweh, rejoice that he has saved me.	9 Allora l’anima mia festeggerà nel Signore, E si rallegrerà nella sua salute.
10 My very bones wil al exclaim, Yahweh, who can compare with you in rescuing the poor from theoppressor; the needy from the exploiter?	10 Tutte le ossa mie diranno: O Signore, chi è pari a te, Che riscuoti il povero afflitto da chi è più forte di lui; Il povero afflitto, e il bisognoso, da chi lo spoglia?
11 False witnesses come forward against me asking me questions I cannot answer, they cross-examineme,	11 Falsi testimoni si levano; Mi domandano cose, delle quali non so nulla.
12 repay my kindness with cruelty, make my life barren.	12 Mi rendono male per bene; Rendono sconforto all’anima mia.
13 But I, when they were il , had worn sackcloth, and mortified myself with fasting, praying ever anew inmy heart,	13 E pure io, quando essi erano infermi, mi vestiva d’un cilicio. Ed affliggeva l’anima mia col digiuno, E la mia orazione mi ritornava in seno.
14 as if for a friend or brother; I had wandered restless, as if mourning a mother, so bowed had I been insorrow.	14 Io andava attorno, come se fosse stato per un mio amico, ovver fratello; Io andava chino, e vestito a bruno, Come uno che faccia cordoglio di sua madre.
15 When I stumble they gather in glee, gather around me; strangers I never even knew tear me apartincessantly.	15 Ma quando io son zoppicato, essi se ne son rallegrati, E si sono adunati insieme; Gente da nulla si è adunata contro a me, senza che io lo sapessi; Mi hanno lacerato, senza mai restare;
16 If I fal they surround me, grinding their teeth at me.	16 Insieme con profani beffatori giocolari, Digrignando i denti contro di me
17 How much longer, Lord, will you look on? Rescue me from their onslaughts, from young lions rescuethe one life that I have.	17 O Signore, infino a quando vedrai queste cose? Ritrai l’anima mia dalle ruine loro, L’unica mia d’infra i leoncelli.
18 I wil give you thanks in the great assembly praise you where the people gather.	18 Io ti celebrerò in gran raunanza; Io ti loderò in mezzo d’un gran popolo.
19 Let not my lying enemies gloat over me; those who hate me unprovoked look askance at me.	19 Non rallegrinsi di me quelli che mi son nemici a torto; Non ammicchino con gli occhi quelli che mi odiano senza cagione.
20 They have no greeting of peace to the peace-loving people of the land; they think up deceptivespeeches.	20 Perciocchè non parlano giammai di pace; Anzi macchinano frodi contro a’ pacifici della terra.
21 Their mouths wide open to accuse me, they say, 'Come on now, we saw you.'	21 Ed allargano la lor bocca contro a me, E dicono: Eia, Eia! l’occhio nostro ha pur veduto quello che desideravamo.
22 You saw it, Yahweh, do not stay silent; Lord, do not stand aloof from me.	22 O Signore, tu hai vedute queste cose; non tacere; O Signore, non allontanarti da me.
23 Up, awake, to my defence, my God and my Lord, to my cause.	23 Risvegliati, e destati, per farmi ragione; Dio mio, e Signor mio, risvegliati per difendere la mia causa.
24 In your saving justice give judgement for me, Yahweh my God, and do not let them gloat over me.	24 O Signore Iddio mio, giudicami secondo la tua giustizia, E fa’ ch’essi non si rallegrino di me;
25 Do not let them think, 'Just as we hoped,' nor, 'Now we have swal owed him up.'	25 E non dicano nel cuor loro: Ehi! anima nostra; E non dicano: Noi l’abbiamo trangugiato.
26 Shame and dismay on them al who gloat over my misfortunes. Let al who profit at my expense becovered with shame and disgrace.	26 Sieno svergognati e confusi tutti quanti Quelli che si rallegrano del mio male; Sieno vestiti di vergogna e di vituperio Quelli che si magnificano contro a me.
27 But let al who delight in my uprightness shout for joy and gladness; let them constantly say, 'Great isYahweh, who delights to see his servant in peace.'	27 Cantino, e rallegrinsi Quelli che hanno buona affezione alla mia giustizia; E dicano del continuo: Magnificato sia il Signore, Che vuole la pace del suo servitore.
28 And my tongue shal recount your saving justice, al day long sing your praise.	28 E la mia lingua risonerà la tua giustizia E la tua laude, tuttodì
