1 [Of David] Yahweh is my light and my salvation, whom should I fear? Yahweh is the fortress of my life,whom should I dread?	1 Canto di fiducia Di David. Jahvè è mia luce e mia salvezza, di chi temerò? Jahvè è la rocca della mia vita, di chi paventerò?
2 When the wicked advance against me to eat me up, they, my opponents, my enemies, are the oneswho stumble and fal .	2 Quando insorsero contro di me i perversi per divorare la mia carne, i miei oppressori e i miei nemici, proprio loro, inciamparono e caddero.
3 Though an army pitch camp against me, my heart wil not fear, though war break out against me, mytrust wil never be shaken.	3 Anche se si accampa contro di me un esercito, non temerà il mio cuore. Anche se si leva contro di me la battaglia, anche allora io sono fiducioso.
4 One thing I ask of Yahweh, one thing I seek: to dwel in Yahweh's house all the days of my life, toenjoy the sweetness of Yahweh, to seek out his temple.	4 Una sola cosa ho chiesto a Jahvè e quella ricerco: che possa sedere nella casa di Jahvè tutti i giorni della mia vita, contemplando la grazia di Jahvè e rimirando il suo santuario!
5 For he hides me away under his roof on the day of evil, he folds me in the recesses of his tent, setsme high on a rock.	5 Poiché egli mi nasconde nella sua tenda nel giorno cattivo; mi occulta nel nascondiglio della sua tenda, nella fortezza mi innalza.
6 Now my head is held high above the enemies who surround me; in his tent I wil offer sacrifices ofacclaim. I wil sing, I wil make music for Yahweh.	6 E ora si leva il mio capo sopra i nemici che mi sono intorno, e sacrificherò nella sua tenda sacrifici d’esultanza; canterò e inneggerò a Jahvè!
7 Yahweh, hear my voice as I cry, pity me, answer me!	7 Ascolta, o Jahvè, la mia voce: io chiamo; fammi grazia e rispondimi!
8 Of you my heart has said, 'Seek his face!' Your face, Yahweh, I seek;	8 Di te mi disse il mio cuore: «Cercate il mio volto!» Il tuo volto, o Jahvè, io cerco;
9 do not turn away from me. Do not thrust aside your servant in anger, without you I am helpless. Neverleave me, never forsake me, God, my Saviour.	9 non celare il tuo volto da me! Non respingere nell’ira il tuo servitore, mio aiuto tu sei. Non cacciarmi e non abbandonarmi, Signore della mia salvezza.
10 Though my father and mother forsake me, Yahweh wil gather me up.	10 È vero, padre e madre mi hanno abbandonato ma Jahvè mi raccoglie.
11 Yahweh, teach me your way, lead me on the path of integrity because of my enemies;	11 Insegnami, Jahvè, la tua via, e guidami sul sentiero piano, a causa di coloro che mi insidiano.
12 do not abandon me to the wil of my foes -- false witnesses have risen against me, and are breathingout violence.	12 Non consegnarmi alla brama dei miei avversari poiché insorsero contro di me testimoni mendaci e chi spira violenza.
13 This I believe: I shal see the goodness of Yahweh, in the land of the living.	13 Se non avessi creduto di poter contemplare la bontà di Jahvè nella terra dei vivi...
14 Put your hope in Yahweh, be strong, let your heart be bold, put your hope in Yahweh.	14 Spera in Jahvè, sia forte e costante il tuo cuore, e spera in Jahvè.
