Psalms 27

NEW JERUSALEM	NOVA VULGATA
1 [Of David] Yahweh is my light and my salvation, whom should I fear? Yahweh is the fortress of my life,whom should I dread?	1 David. Dominus illuminatio mea et salus mea; quem timebo? Dominus protector vitae meae; a quo trepidabo?
2 When the wicked advance against me to eat me up, they, my opponents, my enemies, are the oneswho stumble and fal .	2 Dum appropiant super me nocentes, ut edant carnes meas; qui tribulant me et inimici mei, ipsi infirmati sunt et ceciderunt.
3 Though an army pitch camp against me, my heart wil not fear, though war break out against me, mytrust wil never be shaken.	3 Si consistant adversum me castra, non timebit cor meum; si exsurgat adversum me proelium, in hoc ego sperabo.
4 One thing I ask of Yahweh, one thing I seek: to dwel in Yahweh's house all the days of my life, toenjoy the sweetness of Yahweh, to seek out his temple.	4 Unum petii a Domino, hoc requiram: ut inhabitem in domo Domini omnibus diebus vitae meae, ut videam voluptatem Domini et visitem templum eius.
5 For he hides me away under his roof on the day of evil, he folds me in the recesses of his tent, setsme high on a rock.	5 Quoniam occultabit me in tentorio suo in die malorum. Abscondet me in abscondito tabernaculi sui, in petra exaltabit me.
6 Now my head is held high above the enemies who surround me; in his tent I wil offer sacrifices ofacclaim. I wil sing, I wil make music for Yahweh.	6 Et nunc exaltatur caput meum super inimicos meos in circuitu meo. Immolabo in tabernaculo eius hostias vociferationis, cantabo et psalmum dicam Domino.
7 Yahweh, hear my voice as I cry, pity me, answer me!	7 Exaudi, Domine, vocem meam, qua clamavi; miserere mei et exaudi me.
8 Of you my heart has said, 'Seek his face!' Your face, Yahweh, I seek;	8 De te dixit cor meum: “ Exquirite faciem meam! ”. Faciem tuam, Domine, exquiram.
9 do not turn away from me. Do not thrust aside your servant in anger, without you I am helpless. Neverleave me, never forsake me, God, my Saviour.	9 Ne avertas faciem tuam a me, ne declines in ira a servo tuo. Adiutor meus es tu, ne me reicias neque derelinquas me, Deus salutis meae.
10 Though my father and mother forsake me, Yahweh wil gather me up.	10 Quoniam pater meus et mater mea dereliquerunt me, Dominus autem assumpsit me.
11 Yahweh, teach me your way, lead me on the path of integrity because of my enemies;	11 Ostende mihi, Domine, viam tuam et dirige me in semitam rectam propter inimicos meos.
12 do not abandon me to the wil of my foes -- false witnesses have risen against me, and are breathingout violence.	12 Ne tradideris me in animam tribulantium me, quoniam insurrexerunt in me testes iniqui, et qui violentiam spirant.
13 This I believe: I shal see the goodness of Yahweh, in the land of the living.	13 Credo videre bona Domini in terra viventium.
14 Put your hope in Yahweh, be strong, let your heart be bold, put your hope in Yahweh.	14 Exspecta Dominum, viriliter age, et confortetur cor tuum, et sustine Dominum.
