1 [Of David] Yahweh is my light and my salvation, whom should I fear? Yahweh is the fortress of my life,whom should I dread?	1 Di Davide.Il Signore è mia luce e mia salvezza:di chi avrò timore?Il Signore è difesa della mia vita:di chi avrò paura?
2 When the wicked advance against me to eat me up, they, my opponents, my enemies, are the oneswho stumble and fal .	2 Quando mi assalgono i malvagiper divorarmi la carne,sono essi, avversari e nemici,a inciampare e cadere.
3 Though an army pitch camp against me, my heart wil not fear, though war break out against me, mytrust wil never be shaken.	3 Se contro di me si accampa un esercito,il mio cuore non teme;se contro di me si scatena una guerra,anche allora ho fiducia.
4 One thing I ask of Yahweh, one thing I seek: to dwel in Yahweh's house all the days of my life, toenjoy the sweetness of Yahweh, to seek out his temple.	4 Una cosa ho chiesto al Signore,questa sola io cerco:abitare nella casa del Signoretutti i giorni della mia vita,per contemplare la bellezza del Signoree ammirare il suo santuario.
5 For he hides me away under his roof on the day of evil, he folds me in the recesses of his tent, setsme high on a rock.	5 Nella sua dimora mi offre riparonel giorno della sventura.Mi nasconde nel segreto della sua tenda,sopra una roccia mi innalza.
6 Now my head is held high above the enemies who surround me; in his tent I wil offer sacrifices ofacclaim. I wil sing, I wil make music for Yahweh.	6 E ora rialzo la testasui nemici che mi circondano.Immolerò nella sua tenda sacrifici di vittoria,inni di gioia canterò al Signore.
7 Yahweh, hear my voice as I cry, pity me, answer me!	7 Ascolta, Signore, la mia voce.Io grido: abbi pietà di me, rispondimi!
8 Of you my heart has said, 'Seek his face!' Your face, Yahweh, I seek;	8 Il mio cuore ripete il tuo invito:«Cercate il mio volto!».Il tuo volto, Signore, io cerco.
9 do not turn away from me. Do not thrust aside your servant in anger, without you I am helpless. Neverleave me, never forsake me, God, my Saviour.	9 Non nascondermi il tuo volto,non respingere con ira il tuo servo.Sei tu il mio aiuto, non lasciarmi,non abbandonarmi, Dio della mia salvezza.
10 Though my father and mother forsake me, Yahweh wil gather me up.	10 Mio padre e mia madre mi hanno abbandonato,ma il Signore mi ha raccolto.
11 Yahweh, teach me your way, lead me on the path of integrity because of my enemies;	11 Mostrami, Signore, la tua via,guidami sul retto cammino,perché mi tendono insidie.
12 do not abandon me to the wil of my foes -- false witnesses have risen against me, and are breathingout violence.	12 Non gettarmi in preda ai miei avversari.Contro di me si sono alzàti falsi testimoniche soffiano violenza.
13 This I believe: I shal see the goodness of Yahweh, in the land of the living.	13 Sono certo di contemplare la bontà del Signorenella terra dei viventi.
14 Put your hope in Yahweh, be strong, let your heart be bold, put your hope in Yahweh.	14 Spera nel Signore, sii forte,si rinsaldi il tuo cuore e spera nel Signore.
