NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 [Of David] Yahweh is my light and my salvation, whom should I fear? Yahweh is the fortress of my life,whom should I dread?	1 Di Davide. Il Signore è mia luce e mia salvezza, di chi avrò timore? Il Signore è il baluardo della mia vita, di chi avrò paura?
2 When the wicked advance against me to eat me up, they, my opponents, my enemies, are the oneswho stumble and fal .	2 Se gli empi mi assalgono per divorare la mia carne, essi, miei nemici e avversari, ecco che vacillano e cadono.
3 Though an army pitch camp against me, my heart wil not fear, though war break out against me, mytrust wil never be shaken.	3 Se si accampa contro di me un esercito, non teme il mio cuore, se infuria contro di me la battaglia, proprio allora avrò più fiducia.
4 One thing I ask of Yahweh, one thing I seek: to dwel in Yahweh's house all the days of my life, toenjoy the sweetness of Yahweh, to seek out his temple.	4 La sola cosa che chiedo al Signore e a lui ansiosamente domando è abitare nella casa del Signore per tutti i giorni della mia vita, per godere della soavità del Signore e vigilare di buon mattino nel suo tempio.
5 For he hides me away under his roof on the day of evil, he folds me in the recesses of his tent, setsme high on a rock.	5 Sì, egli mi custodirà nel suo tabernacolo, mi nasconderà nell'interno della sua tenda, sulla roccia, in alto, mi collocherà.
6 Now my head is held high above the enemies who surround me; in his tent I wil offer sacrifices ofacclaim. I wil sing, I wil make music for Yahweh.	6 Ed ora, s'elevi il mio capo al di sopra dei miei nemici, che stanno a me d'attorno, e possa io offrire nella sua tenda sacrifici d'esultanza. Allora canterò e inneggerò al Signore.
7 Yahweh, hear my voice as I cry, pity me, answer me!	7 Ascolta, Signore, la voce del mio grido, abbi pietà di me e rispondimi.
8 Of you my heart has said, 'Seek his face!' Your face, Yahweh, I seek;	8 A te parla il mio cuore, te cerca il mio volto; il tuo volto, Signore, io cerco.
9 do not turn away from me. Do not thrust aside your servant in anger, without you I am helpless. Neverleave me, never forsake me, God, my Saviour.	9 Non nascondere il tuo volto da me, non respingere con sdegno il tuo servo, tu che sei la mia difesa. Non mi scacciare, non mi abbandonare, o Dio della mia salvezza.
10 Though my father and mother forsake me, Yahweh wil gather me up.	10 Ecco, mio padre e mia madre mi hanno abbandonato, il Signore invece mi ha accolto.
11 Yahweh, teach me your way, lead me on the path of integrity because of my enemies;	11 Indicami, o Signore, la tua via, guidami sul retto sentiero, a causa di quelli che m'insidiano.
12 do not abandon me to the wil of my foes -- false witnesses have risen against me, and are breathingout violence.	12 Non lasciarmi in balìa dei miei nemici, poiché si sono levati contro di me testimoni di menzogna e gente che spira violenza.
13 This I believe: I shal see the goodness of Yahweh, in the land of the living.	13 Che sarebbe stato di me, se non avessi avuto la certezza di godere della bontà del Signore nella terra dei viventi?
14 Put your hope in Yahweh, be strong, let your heart be bold, put your hope in Yahweh.	14 Spera nel Signore! Sii forte, si rinfranchi il tuo cuore, e spera nel Signore!
