[Psalm Of David When he was in the cave Prayer] To Yahweh I cry out with my plea. To Yahweh Icry out with entreaty.1 A Maskil of David, when he was in the cave. A Prayer. I cry with my voice to the LORD, with my voice I make supplication to the LORD,
I pour out my worry in his presence, in his presence I unfold my troubles.2 I pour out my complaint before him, I tell my trouble before him.
However faint my spirit; you are watching over my path. On the road I have to travel they havehidden a trap for me.3 When my spirit is faint, thou knowest my way! In the path where I walk they have hidden a trap for me.
Look on my right and see -- there is no one who recognises me. Al refuge is denied me, no onecares whether I live or die.4 I look to the right and watch, but there is none who takes notice of me; no refuge remains to me, no man cares for me.
I cry out to you, Yahweh, I affirm, 'You are my refuge, my share in the land of the living!'5 I cry to thee, O LORD; I say, Thou art my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.
Listen to my cal ing, for I am miserably weak. Rescue me from my persecutors, for they are toostrong for me.6 Give heed to my cry; for I am brought very low! Deliver me from my persecutors; for they are too strong for me!
Lead me out of prison that I may praise your name. The upright gather round me because of yourgenerosity to me.7 Bring me out of prison, that I may give thanks to thy name! The righteous will surround me; for thou wilt deal bountifully with me.
