Psalms 121

NEW JERUSALEM	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 [Song of Ascents] I lift up my eyes to the mountains; where is my help to come from?	1 A song of ascents. I raise my eyes toward the mountains. From where will my help come?
2 My help comes from Yahweh who made heaven and earth.	2 My help comes from the LORD, the maker of heaven and earth.
3 May he save your foot from stumbling; may he, your guardian, not fall asleep!	3 God will not allow your foot to slip; your guardian does not sleep.
4 You see -- he neither sleeps nor slumbers, the guardian of Israel.	4 Truly, the guardian of Israel never slumbers nor sleeps.
5 Yahweh is your guardian, your shade, Yahweh, at your right hand.	5 The LORD is your guardian; the LORD is your shade at your righthand.
6 By day the sun will not strike you, nor the moon by night.	6 By day the sun cannot harm you, nor the moon by night.
7 Yahweh guards you from al harm Yahweh guards your life,	7 The LORD will guard you from all evil, will always guard your life.
8 Yahweh guards your comings and goings, henceforth and for ever.	8 The LORD will guard your coming and going both now and forever.
