NEW JERUSALEMDOUAI-RHEIMS
[Song of Ascents] I lift up my eyes to the mountains; where is my help to come from?1 In my trouble I cried to the Lord: and he heard me.
My help comes from Yahweh who made heaven and earth.2 O Lord, deliver my soul from wicked lips, and a deceitful tongue.
May he save your foot from stumbling; may he, your guardian, not fall asleep!3 What shall be given to thee, or what shall be added to thee, to a deceitful tongue.
You see -- he neither sleeps nor slumbers, the guardian of Israel.4 The sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals that lay waste.
Yahweh is your guardian, your shade, Yahweh, at your right hand.5 Woe is me, that my sojourning is prolonged! I have dwelt with the inhabitants of cedar:
By day the sun will not strike you, nor the moon by night.6 my soul hath been long a sojourner.
Yahweh guards you from al harm Yahweh guards your life,7 With them that hate peace I was peaceable: when I spoke to them they fought against me without cause.
Yahweh guards your comings and goings, henceforth and for ever.
