1 Moses assembled the whole community of Israelites and said, 'These are the things Yahweh hasordered to be done:1 Moses assembled the whole Israelite community and said to them, "This is what the LORD has commanded to be done.
2 Work must be done for six days, but the seventh must be a holy day for you, a day of complete rest, inhonour of Yahweh. Anyone who does any work on that day wil be put to death.2 On six days work may be done, but the seventh day shall be sacred to you as the sabbath of complete rest to the LORD. Anyone who does work on that day shall be put to death.
3 You will not light a fire on the Sabbath day in any of your homes.'3 You shall not even light a fire in any of your dwellings on the sabbath day."
4 Moses spoke to the whole community of Israelites. 'This', he said, 'is what Yahweh has ordered:4 Moses told the whole Israelite community, "This is what the LORD has commanded:
5 Set aside a contribution for Yahweh out of your possessions. Everyone whose heart prompts him to doso should bring a contribution for Yahweh: gold, silver and bronze;5 Take up among you a collection for the LORD. Everyone, as his heart prompts him, shall bring, as a contribution to the LORD, gold, silver and bronze;
6 materials dyed violet-purple, red-purple and crimson, finely woven linen, goats' hair,6 violet, purple and scarlet yarn; fine linen and goat hair;
7 rams' skins dyed red, fine leather, acacia wood,7 rams' skins dyed red, and tahash skins; acacia wood;
8 oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense;8 oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense;
9 cornelian and other stones to be set in the ephod and breastplate.9 onyx stones and other gems for mounting on the ephod and on the breastpiece.
10 And al those of you who have the skil must come and make everything that Yahweh has ordered:10 "Let every expert among you come and make all that the LORD has commanded: the Dwelling,
11 the Dwel ing, its tent and its covering, its clasps and its frames, its crossbars, its pillars and itssockets;11 with its tent, its covering, its clasps, its boards, its bars, its columns and its pedestals;
12 the ark, its shafts and al its accessories, the mercy-seat and the screening curtain;12 the ark, with its poles, the propitiatory, and the curtain veil;
13 the table, its shafts and al its accessories, and the loaves of permanent offering;13 the table, with its poles and all its appurtenances, and the showbread;
14 the lamp-stand for the light, its accessories, its lamps, and the oil for the light;14 the lampstand, with its appurtenances, the lamps, and the oil for the light;
15 the altar of incense and its shafts, the anointing oil, the fragrant incense, and the screen for theentrance, for the entrance of the tent;15 the altar of incense, with its poles; the anointing oil, and the fragrant incense; the entrance curtain for the entrance of the Dwelling;
16 the altar of burnt offerings and its bronze grating, its shafts, and all its accessories; the basin and itsstand;16 the altar of holocausts, with its bronze grating, its poles, and all its appurtenances; the laver, with its base;
17 the curtaining for the court, its poles, its sockets, and the screen for the entrance to the court;17 the hangings of the court, with their columns and pedestals; the curtain for the entrance of the court;
18 the pegs for the Dwel ing and the pegs for the court, and their cords;18 the tent pegs for the Dwelling and for the court, with their ropes;
19 the liturgical vestments for service in the sanctuary -- the sacred vestments for Aaron the priest, andthe vestments for his sons, for their priestly functions.'19 the service cloths for use in the sanctuary; the sacred vestments for Aaron, the priest, and the vestments worn by his sons in their ministry."
20 The whole community of Israelites then withdrew from Moses' presence.20 When the whole Israelite community left Moses' presence,
21 And al those whose heart stirred them and al those whose spirit prompted them brought acontribution for Yahweh, for the work on the Tent of Meeting, for its general service and for the sacredvestments.21 everyone, as his heart suggested and his spirit prompted, brought a contribution to the LORD for the construction of the meeting tent, for all its services, and for the sacred vestments.
22 Men and women, they came, al those whose heart prompted them, bringing brooches, rings,bracelets, necklaces, golden objects of every kind -- all those who had vowed gold to Yahweh,22 Both the men and the women, all as their heart prompted them, brought brooches, earrings, rings, necklaces and various other gold articles. Everyone who could presented an offering of gold to the LORD.
23 while al those who happened to own violet-purple, red-purple or crimson materials, finely wovenlinen, goats' hair, rams' skins dyed red, or fine leather, brought that.23 Everyone who happened to have violet, purple or scarlet yarn, fine linen or goat hair, rams' skins dyed red or tahash skins, brought them.
24 Al those offering a contribution of silver or bronze brought their contribution for Yahweh and al whohappened to own acacia wood, suitable for any of the work to be done, brought that.24 Whoever could make a contribution of silver or bronze offered it to the LORD; and everyone who happened to have acacia wood for any part of the work, brought it.
25 Al the skil ed women set their hands to spinning, and brought what they had spun: violet-purple, red-purple or crimson materials, and fine linen,25 All the women who were expert spinners brought hand-spun violet, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen thread.
26 while al those women whose heart stirred them by virtue of their skil , spun goats' hair.26 All the women who possessed the skill, spun goat hair.
27 The leaders brought cornelians and other stones to be set in the ephod and breastplate,27 The princes brought onyx stones and other gems for mounting on the ephod and on the breastpiece;
28 and the spices and oil for the light, for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense.28 as well as spices, and oil for the light, anointing oil, and fragrant incense.
29 Al those Israelites, men and women, whose heart prompted them to contribute to the entire work thatYahweh had ordered through Moses to be done, brought a contribution to Yahweh.29 Every Israelite man and woman brought to the LORD such voluntary offerings as they thought best, for the various kinds of work which the LORD had commanded Moses to have done.
30 Moses then said to the Israelites, 'Look, Yahweh has singled out Bezalel son of Uri, son of Hur, of thetribe of Judah,30 Moses said to the Israelites, "See, the LORD has chosen Bezalel, son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,
31 and has filled him with the spirit of God in wisdom, knowledge and skil in every kind of craft:31 and has filled him with a divine spirit of skill and understanding and knowledge in every craft:
32 in designing and carrying out work in gold and silver and bronze,32 in the production of embroidery, in making things of gold, silver or bronze,
33 in cutting stones to be set, in wood carving and in executing every kind of work.33 in cutting and mounting precious stones, in carving wood, and in every other craft.
34 And on him and on Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, he has bestowed the gift ofteaching,34 He has also given both him and Oholiab, son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others.
35 and filled them with the skill to carry out every kind of work, that of the engraver, that of theembroiderer, that of the needleworker in violet-purple, red-purple and crimson materials and fine linen, that of theweaver, and indeed that of every kind of craftsman and designer.'35 He has endowed them with skill to execute all types of work: engraving, embroidering, the making of variegated cloth of violet, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen thread, weaving, and all other arts and crafts.
