Exodus 30

1 'You will make an altar on which to burn incense; you wil make it of acacia wood,	1 Facies quoque altare ad adolendum thymiama, de lignis setim,
2 one cubit long, and one cubit wide -- it must be square -- and two cubits high; its horns must be of apiece with it.	2 habens cubitum longitudinis, et alterum latitudinis, id est, quadrangulum, et duos cubitos in altitudine. Cornua ex ipso procedent.
3 You will overlay its top, its sides all round and its horns with pure gold and make a gold moulding to goal round.	3 Vestiesque illud auro purissimo, tam craticulam ejus, quam parietes per circuitum, et cornua. Faciesque ei coronam aureolam per gyrum,
4 You will make two gold rings for it below the moulding on its two opposite sides, to take the shaftsused for carrying it.	4 et duos annulos aureos sub corona per singula latera, ut mittantur in eos vectes, et altare portetur.
5 You will make the shafts of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.	5 Ipsos quoque vectes facies de lignis setim, et inaurabis.
6 'You will put it in front of the curtain by the ark of Testimony, in front of the mercy-seat which is on theTestimony, where I shal meet you.	6 Ponesque altare contra velum, quod ante arcum pendet testimonii coram propitiatorio quo tegitur testimonium, ubi loquar tibi.
7 On it Aaron wil burn fragrant incense each morning; when he trims the lamps, he will burn incense onit;	7 Et adolebit incensum super eo Aaron, suave fragrans, mane. Quando componet lucernas, incendet illud :
8 and when Aaron puts back the lamps at twilight, he will burn incense on it, incense perpetual y beforeYahweh for all your generations to come.	8 et quando collocabit eas ad vesperum, uret thymiama sempiternum coram Domino in generationes vestras.
9 You will not offer unauthorised incense, or burnt offering, or cereal offering on it, and you will not pourany libation over it.	9 Non offeretis super eo thymiama compositionis alterius, nec oblationem, et victimam, nec libabitis libamina.
10 Once a year, Aaron wil perform the rite of expiation on the horns of the altar; once a year, on the Dayof Expiation, with the blood of the sacrifice for sin, he wil make expiation for himself, for al your generations tocome. It is especial y holy for Yahweh.'	10 Et deprecabitur Aaron super cornua ejus semel per annum, in sanguine quod oblatum est pro peccato, et placabit super eo in generationibus vestris. Sanctum sanctorum erit Domino.
11 Yahweh then spoke to Moses and said,	11 Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens :
12 'When you count the Israelites by census, each one of them must pay Yahweh a ransom for his life,to avoid any incidence of plague among them while you are holding the census.	12 Quando tuleris summam filiorum Israël juxta numerum, dabunt singuli pretium pro animabus suis Domino, et non erit plaga in eis, cum fuerint recensiti.
13 Everyone subject to the census wil pay half a shekel, reckoning by the sanctuary shekel: twentygerah to the shekel. This half-shekel will be set aside for Yahweh.	13 Hoc autem dabit omnis qui transit ad nomen, dimidium sicli juxta mensuram templi (siclus viginti obolos habet) ; media pars sicli offeretur Domino.
14 Everyone subject to the census, that is to say of twenty years and over, will pay the sum set aside forYahweh.	14 Qui habetur in numero, a viginti annis et supra, dabit pretium.
15 The rich man must not give more, nor the poor man less, than half a shekel when he pays the sumset aside for Yahweh in ransom for your lives.	15 Dives non addet ad medium sicli, et pauper nihil minuet.
16 You wil take the ransom money of the Israelites and apply it to the service of the Tent of Meeting, forit to be a reminder of the Israelites before Yahweh, as the ransom for your lives.'	16 Susceptamque pecuniam, quæ collata est a filiis Israël, trades in usus tabernaculi testimonii, ut sit monimentum eorum coram Domino, et propitietur animabus eorum.
17 Yahweh then spoke to Moses and said,	17 Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens :
18 'You wil also make a bronze basin on its bronze stand, for washing. You wil put it between the Tentof Meeting and the altar and put water in it,	18 Facies et labrum æneum cum basi sua ad lavandum : ponesque illud inter tabernaculum testimonii et altare. Et missa aqua,
19 in which Aaron and his sons wil wash their hands and feet.	19 lavabunt in ea Aaron et filii ejus manus suas ac pedes,
20 Whenever they are to enter the Tent of Meeting, they wil wash, to avoid incurring death; andwhenever they approach the altar for their service, to burn an offering for Yahweh,	20 quando ingressuri sunt tabernaculum testimonii, et quando accessuri sunt ad altare, ut offerant in eo thymiama Domino,
21 they wil wash their hands and feet, to avoid incurring death. This is a perpetual decree for him andhis descendants for all their generations to come.'	21 ne forte moriantur ; legitimum sempiternum erit ipsi, et semini ejus per successiones.
22 Yahweh spoke further to Moses and said,	22 Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen,
23 'Take the finest spices: five hundred shekels of fresh myrrh, half as much (two hundred and fiftyshekels) of fragrant cinnamon, two hundred and fifty shekels of scented reed,	23 dicens : Sume tibi aromata, primæ myrrhæ et electæ quingentos siclos, et cinnamomi medium, id est, ducentos quinquaginta siclos, calami similiter ducentos quinquaginta,
24 five hundred shekels (reckoning by the sanctuary shekel) of cassia, and one hin of olive oil.	24 casiæ autem quingentos siclos, in pondere sanctuarii, olei de olivetis mensuram hin :
25 You wil make this into a holy anointing oil, such a blend as the perfumer might make; this wil be aholy anointing oil.	25 faciesque unctionis oleum sanctum, unguentum compositum opere unguentarii,
26 With it you wil anoint the Tent of Meeting and the ark of the Testimony,	26 et unges ex eo tabernaculum testimonii, et arcam testamenti,
27 the table and al its accessories, the lamp-stand and its accessories, the altar of incense,	27 mensamque cum vasis suis, et candelabrum, et utensilia ejus, altaria thymiamatis,
28 the altar of burnt offerings and al its accessories, and the basin with its stand,	28 et holocausti, et universam supellectilem quæ ad cultum eorum pertinet.
29 consecrating them, so that they wil be especial y holy and whatever touches them wil become holy.	29 Sanctificabisque omnia, et erunt Sancta sanctorum ; qui tetigerit ea, sanctificabitur.
30 You wil also anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate them to be priests in my service.	30 Aaron et filios ejus unges, sanctificabisque eos, ut sacerdotio fungantur mihi.
31 You wil then speak to the Israelites and say, "This anointing oil wil be holy for you for al yourgenerations to come.	31 Filiis quoque Israël dices : Hoc oleum unctionis sanctum erit mihi in generationes vestras.
32 It must not be used for anointing the human body, nor may you make any of the same mixture. It is aholy thing; you wil regard it as holy.	32 Caro hominis non ungetur ex eo, et juxta compositionem ejus non facietis aliud, quia sanctificatum est, et sanctum erit vobis.
33 Anyone who makes up the same oil or uses it on an unauthorised person wil be outlawed from hispeople." '	33 Homo quicumque tale composuerit, et dederit ex eo alieno, exterminabitur de populo suo.
34 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Take sweet spices: storax, onycha, galbanum, sweet spices and purefrankincense in equal parts,	34 Dixitque Dominus ad Moysen : Sume tibi aromata, stacten et onycha, galbanum boni odoris, et thus lucidissimum ; æqualis ponderis erunt omnia :
35 and compound an incense, such a blend as the perfumer might make, salted, pure, and holy.	35 faciesque thymiama compositum opere unguentarii, mistum diligenter, et purum, et sanctificatione dignissimum.
36 You wil grind some of this up very fine and put it in front of the Testimony in the Tent of Meeting,where I shal meet you. You wil regard it as especial y holy.	36 Cumque in tenuissimum pulverem universa contuderis, pones ex eo coram tabernaculo testimonii, in quo loco apparebo tibi. Sanctum sanctorum erit vobis thymiama.
37 You may not make any incense of similar composition for your own use. You wil regard it as holy,reserved for Yahweh Anyone who makes up the same thing to use as perfume will be outlawed from his people.'	37 Talem compositionem non facietis in usus vestros, quia sanctum est Domino.
	38 Homo quicumque fecerit simile, ut odore illius perfruatur, peribit de populis suis.
