2 Chronicles 31

NEW JERUSALEM	Le Sainte Bible Vigouroux
1 When al this was complete, al Israel present went out to the towns of Judah, broke the pil ars, cutdown the sacred poles, wrecked the high places and the altars, and did away with them entirely throughoutJudah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh. Then al the Israelites returned to their towns, everyone to hisproperty.	1 Lorsque ces fêtes (choses) eurent été célébrées d'après les rites, tous les Israélites qui se trouvaient dans les villes de Juda sortirent et brisèrent les idoles (tous les simulacres), abattirent les bois profanes, ruinèrent les hauts lieux et renversèrent les autels, non seulement dans tout Juda et Benjamin, mais aussi dans Ephraïm et Manassé, jusqu'à ce qu'ils eussent tout détruit. Puis tous les fils (enfants) d'Israël retournèrent dans leurs héritages et dans leurs villes.
2 Hezekiah re-established the priestly and levitical orders, each man in his proper order according to hisduties, whether priest or Levite, to bring burnt offerings and communion sacrifices, to serve and to give thanksand praise within the gates of Yahweh's camp.	2 Et (Or) Ezéchias rétablit les classes des prêtres et des Lévites selon leurs divisions, chacun dans son office propre, prêtres et Lévites, pour les holocaustes et les sacrifices pacifiques, pour servir, louer Dieu et chanter aux portes du camp du Seigneur.
3 He also established a king's portion from his possessions for the morning and evening burnt offerings,and the burnt offerings for the Sabbaths, New Moons and festivals, as laid down in the Law of Yahweh.	3 Et le roi, pour sa part, voulut que l'on prît sur son domaine de quoi offrir l'holocauste du matin et du soir, et aussi les sacrifices du sabbat, des premiers jours (calendes), (des mois) et des autres solennités, ainsi qu'il est marqué dans la loi de Moïse.
4 He furthermore requested the people living in Jerusalem to present the portion for the priests andLevites so that they might devote themselves to the Law of Yahweh.	4 Il ordonna aussi au peuple qui demeurait à Jérusalem de donner la part des prêtres et des Lévites, afin qu'ils pussent vaquer à la loi du Seigneur.
5 As soon as the order had been promulgated, the Israelites provided the first fruits of grain, new wine,olive oil, honey and every other kind of agricultural produce in abundance; they brought in an abundant tithe ofeverything.	5 Lorsque cela fut parvenu aux oreilles du peuple, les fils (enfants) d'Israël offrirent en abondance les prémices du blé, du vin, de l'huile et (même) du miel ; et ils donnèrent aussi la dîme de tout ce que produit la terre.
6 The Israelites and Judaeans living in the towns of Judah also brought in the tithe of cattle and sheep,and the tithe of sacred gifts consecrated to Yahweh their God, laying them in heaps.	6 Les fils (enfants) d'Israël et de Juda, qui demeuraient dans les villes de Juda, offrirent également la dîme des bœufs et des moutons (brebis), avec la dîme des choses sanctifiées qu'ils avaient vouées au Seigneur leur Dieu ; et, apportant tout cela, ils en firent plusieurs (un très grand nombre de) monceaux.
7 They began accumulating the heaps in the third month and had finished them by the seventh.	7 Ils commencèrent à faire ces monceaux le troisième mois, et ils les achevèrent le septième mois.
8 When Hezekiah and the officials came to inspect the heaps they praised Yahweh and his peopleIsrael.	8 Le roi et les princes, étant entrés, virent ces monceaux, et ils bénirent le Seigneur et le peuple d'Israël.
9 While Hezekiah was questioning the priests and Levites about the heaps,	9 Ezéchias demanda aux prêtres et aux Lévites pourquoi ces monceaux demeuraient ainsi exposés (déposés).
10 Azariah, the chief priest, of the family of Zadok, replied as fol ows, 'Since they began bringing thecontributions to the Temple of Yahweh,' he said, 'we have had enough to eat and quantities left over, for Yahwehhas blessed his people; this mass of stuff is left.'	10 Le grand prêtre Azarias, qui était de la race de Sadoc, lui répondit : Depuis que l'on a commencé à offrir ces prémices dans la maison du Seigneur, nous en avons mangé et nous nous en sommes rassasiés ; cependant il en est encore resté abondamment, parce que le Seigneur a béni son peuple, et cette grande quantité que vous voyez n'en est que le reste.
11 Hezekiah then ordered them to have storerooms prepared in the Temple of Yahweh and, when theyhad got them ready,	11 Ezéchias ordonna donc que l'on préparât des greniers dans la maison du Seigneur.
12 they conscientiously brought in the contributions, tithes and consecrated gifts, Conaniah the Levitewas put in charge of them, with Shimei his brother as his assistant,	12 Quand on l'eut fait, on y porta fidèlement tant les prémices que les dîmes, et tout ce qui avait été voué. Le Lévite Chonénias en eut l'intendance, et son frère Séméi était en second ;
13 and with Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jeremith, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismachiah, Mahath, and Benaiahas overseers under Conaniah and his brother Shimei, by order of King Hezekiah and of Azariah, the chief of theTemple of God.	13 et après venaient Jahiel, Azarias, Nahath, Asaël, Jérimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Jesmachias, Mahath et Banaïas, sous l'autorité de Chonénias et de Séméi, son frère, par l'ordre du roi Ezéchias et d'Azarias, pontife de la maison de Dieu, auxquels on rendait compte de tout.
14 Kore son of Jimnah the Levite, keeper of the eastern gate, was made responsible for the voluntaryofferings to God and for providing the portion set aside for Yahweh and the most holy gifts.	14 Le Lévite Coré, fils de Jemma, et gardien de la porte orientale, était préposé aux dons qu'on offrait volontairement au Seigneur, et aux prémices et aux autres choses que l'on offrait dans le sanctuaire.
15 Supporting him loyal y in the priestly towns were Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah andShechaniah, who made the distributions to their brothers in their various orders, whether high or low,	15 Sous lui étaient Eden, Benjamin, Jésué, Séméias, Amarias et Séchénias, dans les villes des prêtres, pour distribuer fidèlement leurs parts à leurs frères, tant aux grands qu'aux petits,
16 irrespective of their official genealogy, to the males of thirty years and upwards -- to each one whoattended the Temple of Yahweh to fulfil his daily obligations -- for the performance of their duties appropriate totheir orders:	16 et même aux enfants mâles, depuis l'âge de trois ans et au-dessus, et à tous ceux qui entraient dans le temple du Seigneur ; et tout ce que l'on distribuerait chaque jour à ceux qui étaient en service et remplissaient leurs fonctions, selon leurs divisions,
17 the priests being registered according to family and the Levites of twenty years and upwardsaccording to their duties within their orders.	17 et aux prêtres selon leurs familles, et aux Lévites depuis vingt ans et au-dessus d'après leurs rangs et leurs classes.
18 And the official genealogy included all their household, their wives, their sons and their daughters,throughout the community, since these men were obliged to keep sanctifying themselves anew.	18 Et à toute la multitude, aux femmes et aux enfants des deux sexes on fournissait fidèlement des vivres avec ce qui avait été consacré.
19 The Aaronite priests who lived on the pasture lands belonging to their towns, had men named inevery town to distribute portions to every male among the priests and to everyone included in the officialgenealogy of the Levites.	19 Il y avait aussi des fils d'Aaron dans la campagne et dans les faubourgs de toutes les villes, pour distribuer leurs parts à tous les enfants mâles des prêtres et des Lévites.
20 Hezekiah did this throughout all Judah. He did what Yahweh his God regards as good and right andloyal.	20 Ezéchias fit donc dans tout Juda tout ce que nous venons de dire ; et il accomplit ce qui était bon, droit et vrai devant le Seigneur son Dieu,
21 Everything that he undertook, whether in the service of the Temple of God or in connection with thelaw or the commandments, he did in absolute devotion to his God, and so succeeded.	21 dans tout ce qui concerne le service de la maison du Seigneur, selon la loi et les cérémonies, cherchant Dieu de tout son cœur. Il le fit et prospéra.
