2 Chronicles 31

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 When al this was complete, al Israel present went out to the towns of Judah, broke the pil ars, cutdown the sacred poles, wrecked the high places and the altars, and did away with them entirely throughoutJudah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh. Then al the Israelites returned to their towns, everyone to hisproperty.	1 Quand tout cela fut terminé, tous les Israélites qui se trouvaient là allèrent dans les villes deJuda briser les stèles, couper les pieux sacrés, saccager les hauts lieux et les autels pour en débarrasserentièrement tout Juda, Benjamin, Ephraïm et Manassé. Puis tous les Israélites retournèrent dans leurs villes,chacun dans son patrimoine.
2 Hezekiah re-established the priestly and levitical orders, each man in his proper order according to hisduties, whether priest or Levite, to bring burnt offerings and communion sacrifices, to serve and to give thanksand praise within the gates of Yahweh's camp.	2 Ezéchias rétablit les classes sacerdotales et lévitiques, chacun dans sa classe, selon sonservice, qu'il fût prêtre ou lévite, qu'il s'agît d'holocaustes, de sacrifices de communion, de service liturgique,d'action de grâces ou d'hymne, -- dans les portes du camp de Yahvé.
3 He also established a king's portion from his possessions for the morning and evening burnt offerings,and the burnt offerings for the Sabbaths, New Moons and festivals, as laid down in the Law of Yahweh.	3 Le roi prit une part sur ses biens pour les holocaustes, holocaustes du matin et du soir,holocaustes des sabbats, des néoménies et des solennités, comme il est écrit dans la Loi de Yahvé.
4 He furthermore requested the people living in Jerusalem to present the portion for the priests andLevites so that they might devote themselves to the Law of Yahweh.	4 Puis il dit au peuple, aux habitants de Jérusalem, de livrer la part des prêtres et des lévitesafin qu'ils puissent observer la Loi de Yahvé.
5 As soon as the order had been promulgated, the Israelites provided the first fruits of grain, new wine,olive oil, honey and every other kind of agricultural produce in abundance; they brought in an abundant tithe ofeverything.	5 Dès qu'on eut répandu cette parole, les Israélites accumulèrent les prémices du froment, duvin, de l'huile, du miel et de tous les produits agricoles, et ils apportèrent une large dîme de tout.
6 The Israelites and Judaeans living in the towns of Judah also brought in the tithe of cattle and sheep,and the tithe of sacred gifts consecrated to Yahweh their God, laying them in heaps.	6 Les Israélites et les Judéens, qui habitaient les cités judéennes, apportèrent eux aussi la dîmedu gros et du petit bétail et la dîme des choses saintes consacrées à Yahvé; ils les apportèrent, tas après tas.
7 They began accumulating the heaps in the third month and had finished them by the seventh.	7 C'est au troisième mois qu'ils commencèrent à faire ces tas et ils les achevèrent le septième.
8 When Hezekiah and the officials came to inspect the heaps they praised Yahweh and his peopleIsrael.	8 Ezéchias et les officiers vinrent voir les tas et bénirent Yahvé et Israël, son peuple.
9 While Hezekiah was questioning the priests and Levites about the heaps,	9 Ezéchias interrogea à ce sujet les prêtres et les lévites.
10 Azariah, the chief priest, of the family of Zadok, replied as fol ows, 'Since they began bringing thecontributions to the Temple of Yahweh,' he said, 'we have had enough to eat and quantities left over, for Yahwehhas blessed his people; this mass of stuff is left.'	10 C'est Azaryahu, de la maison de Sadoq, et premier prêtre, qui lui répondit: "Dès lespremiers prélèvements apportés au Temple de Yahvé, dit-il, on a pu manger, se rassasier, et avoir même delarges excédents, car Yahvé a béni son peuple; ce qui reste, c'est cette masse-ci."
11 Hezekiah then ordered them to have storerooms prepared in the Temple of Yahweh and, when theyhad got them ready,	11 Ezéchias ordonna de mettre en état des pièces dans le Temple de Yahvé. On le fit
12 they conscientiously brought in the contributions, tithes and consecrated gifts, Conaniah the Levitewas put in charge of them, with Shimei his brother as his assistant,	12 et l'on apporta fidèlement les prélèvements, les dîmes et les choses consacrées. Le léviteKonanyahu en fut le chef responsable avec son frère Shiméï pour second.
13 and with Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jeremith, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismachiah, Mahath, and Benaiahas overseers under Conaniah and his brother Shimei, by order of King Hezekiah and of Azariah, the chief of theTemple of God.	13 Yehiel, Azazyahu, Nahat, Asahel, Yerimot, Yozabad, Eliel, Yismakyahu, Mahat etBenayahu en étaient les surveillants sous les ordres de Konanyahu et de son frère Shiméï, sous le gouvernementdu roi Ezéchias et d'Azaryahu, chef du Temple de Dieu.
14 Kore son of Jimnah the Levite, keeper of the eastern gate, was made responsible for the voluntaryofferings to God and for providing the portion set aside for Yahweh and the most holy gifts.	14 Qoré, fils de Yimna le lévite, gardien de la porte orientale, avait la charge des offrandesvolontaires faites à Dieu; il fournissait le prélèvement de Yahvé et les choses très saintes.
15 Supporting him loyal y in the priestly towns were Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah andShechaniah, who made the distributions to their brothers in their various orders, whether high or low,	15 Eden, Minyamîn, Yéshua, Shemayahu, Amaryahu et Shekanyahu l'assistaient fidèlementdans les villes sacerdotales pour faire les distributions à leurs frères répartis en classes, autant au grand qu'aupetit,
16 irrespective of their official genealogy, to the males of thirty years and upwards -- to each one whoattended the Temple of Yahweh to fulfil his daily obligations -- for the performance of their duties appropriate totheir orders:	16 et, sans tenir compte de leur enregistrement, aux hommes âgés de 30 ans et plus, à tous ceuxqui allaient au Temple de Yahvé, selon le rituel quotidien, assurer le service de leurs fonctions, selon leursclasses.
17 the priests being registered according to family and the Levites of twenty years and upwardsaccording to their duties within their orders.	17 Les prêtres furent enregistrés par familles et les lévites, âgés de vingt ans et plus, selon leursfonctions et leurs classes.
18 And the official genealogy included all their household, their wives, their sons and their daughters,throughout the community, since these men were obliged to keep sanctifying themselves anew.	18 Ils furent enregistrés avec toutes les personnes à leur charge, femmes, fils et filles, toutel'Assemblée, car ils devaient se sanctifier avec fidélité.
19 The Aaronite priests who lived on the pasture lands belonging to their towns, had men named inevery town to distribute portions to every male among the priests and to everyone included in the officialgenealogy of the Levites.	19 Pour les prêtres, fils d'Aaron, qui se trouvaient dans les terrains de pâturage de leurs villes etdans chaque ville, il y eut des hommes inscrits nominativement pour faire les répartitions à tout mâle parmi lesprêtres et à tous ceux qui étaient enregistrés parmi les lévites.
20 Hezekiah did this throughout all Judah. He did what Yahweh his God regards as good and right andloyal.	20 C'est ainsi qu'agit Ezéchias en tout Juda. Il fit ce qui était bon, juste et loyal devant Yahvé,son Dieu.
21 Everything that he undertook, whether in the service of the Temple of God or in connection with thelaw or the commandments, he did in absolute devotion to his God, and so succeeded.	21 Tout ce qu'il entreprit au service du Temple de Dieu, au sujet de la Loi et descommandements, il le fit en cherchant Dieu de tout son coeur, et il réussit.
