1 When al this was complete, al Israel present went out to the towns of Judah, broke the pil ars, cutdown the sacred poles, wrecked the high places and the altars, and did away with them entirely throughoutJudah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh. Then al the Israelites returned to their towns, everyone to hisproperty.	1 Feitas estas coisas segundo o rito, todos os Israelitas, que se encontravam nas cidades de Judá, saíram e despedaçaram os ídolos, talaram os ascheras, demoliram os lugares altos e destruíram os altares, não só em toda a terra de Judá e de Benjamim, mas também na de Efraim e de Manassés. Foi uma destruição total. Depois voltaram todos os filhos de Israel para as suas terras, para as suas cidades.
2 Hezekiah re-established the priestly and levitical orders, each man in his proper order according to hisduties, whether priest or Levite, to bring burnt offerings and communion sacrifices, to serve and to give thanksand praise within the gates of Yahweh's camp.	2 Ezequias restabeleceu as classes dos sacerdotes e Levitas, segundo as suas divisões, cada um no seu próprio ofício, tanto dos sacerdotes como dos Levitas, para os holocaustos e hóstias pacíficas, para servirem, para louvarem a Deus e cantarem às portas do acampamento (ou átrio dos sacerdotes da casa) do Senhor.
3 He also established a king's portion from his possessions for the morning and evening burnt offerings,and the burnt offerings for the Sabbaths, New Moons and festivals, as laid down in the Law of Yahweh.	3 O rei contribuía da sua própria fazenda para que se oferecesse o holocausto perpétuo da manhã e da tarde, dos sábados, neoménias e outras solenidades, como está escrito na lei de Moisés.
4 He furthermore requested the people living in Jerusalem to present the portion for the priests andLevites so that they might devote themselves to the Law of Yahweh.	4 Mandou também ao povo que morava em Jerusalém que desse aos sacerdotes e aos Levitas as suas porções, para estes se poderem aplicar ao cumprimento a lei do Senhor.
5 As soon as the order had been promulgated, the Israelites provided the first fruits of grain, new wine,olive oil, honey and every other kind of agricultural produce in abundance; they brought in an abundant tithe ofeverything.	5 Tendo chegado isto aos ouvidos do povo, os filhos de Israel ofereceram muitas primícias de trigo, de vinho, de azeite e de mel; ofereceram o dízimo de tudo o que a terra produz.
6 The Israelites and Judaeans living in the towns of Judah also brought in the tithe of cattle and sheep,and the tithe of sacred gifts consecrated to Yahweh their God, laying them in heaps.	6 Os filhos de Israel e de Judá, que moravam nas cidades de Judá, ofereceram também o dízimo dos bois e das ovelhas, e o dízimo das coisas santificadas, que tinham prometido por voto ao Senhor seu Deus. Levando tudo, fizeram grandes montões.
7 They began accumulating the heaps in the third month and had finished them by the seventh.	7 Começaram a formar estes montões no terceiro mês e acabaram-nos no sétimo mês.
8 When Hezekiah and the officials came to inspect the heaps they praised Yahweh and his peopleIsrael.	8 Tendo entrado Ezequias e os seus príncipes, viram os montões e louvaram o Senhor e o povo de Israel.
9 While Hezekiah was questioning the priests and Levites about the heaps,	9 Ezequias perguntou aos sacerdotes e aos Levitas por que estavam ali por terra aqueles montões.
10 Azariah, the chief priest, of the family of Zadok, replied as fol ows, 'Since they began bringing thecontributions to the Temple of Yahweh,' he said, 'we have had enough to eat and quantities left over, for Yahwehhas blessed his people; this mass of stuff is left.'	10 O sumo sacerdote Azarias, da linhagem de Sadoc, respondeu-lhe: Desde que começaram a oferecer primícias na casa do Senhor, temos comido e nos temos saciado, e tem sobejado muito, porque o Senhor abençoou o seu povo. Esta abundância que vês é das sobras.
11 Hezekiah then ordered them to have storerooms prepared in the Temple of Yahweh and, when theyhad got them ready,	11 Mandou, então, Ezequias que se preparassem celeiros na casa do Senhor. Tendo-se feito isto,
12 they conscientiously brought in the contributions, tithes and consecrated gifts, Conaniah the Levitewas put in charge of them, with Shimei his brother as his assistant,	12 recolheram dentro, fielmente, tanto as primícias como os dízimos, e tudo o que tinham oferecido por voto. Foi constituído superintendente disto o Levita Conenias, e Semei, seu irmão, em segundo lugar;
13 and with Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jeremith, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismachiah, Mahath, and Benaiahas overseers under Conaniah and his brother Shimei, by order of King Hezekiah and of Azariah, the chief of theTemple of God.	13 depois deste, (estavam) Jaiel, Azarias, Naat, Asael, Jerimot, Jozabad, Eliel, Jesmaquias, Maat e Banaias, que foram subordinados a Conenias e a Semei, seu irmão, por ordem do rei Ezequias e de Azarias, pontífice da casa de Deus.
14 Kore son of Jimnah the Levite, keeper of the eastern gate, was made responsible for the voluntaryofferings to God and for providing the portion set aside for Yahweh and the most holy gifts.	14 Coré, filho de Jena Levita, que era guarda da porta oriental, estava encarregado dos dons que voluntariamente se ofereciam ao Senhor, e das primícias e das coisas consagradas ao Santo dos Santos.
15 Supporting him loyal y in the priestly towns were Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah andShechaniah, who made the distributions to their brothers in their various orders, whether high or low,	15 Sob a sua direção estavam Eden, Benjamim, Jesué, Semeias, Amarias e Sequenias, nas cidades dos sacerdotes, para distribuírem fielmente aos seus irmãos as porções, tanto a pequenos como a grandes,
16 irrespective of their official genealogy, to the males of thirty years and upwards -- to each one whoattended the Temple of Yahweh to fulfil his daily obligations -- for the performance of their duties appropriate totheir orders:	16 excepto aos varões inscritos de três anos para cima, a todos que entravam no templo do Senhor; faziam a distribuição de tudo aquilo que era necessário diàriamente para todos os ministérios e ofícios, segundo as suas classes.
17 the priests being registered according to family and the Levites of twenty years and upwardsaccording to their duties within their orders.	17 Aos sacerdotes por famílias, e aos Levitas de vinte anos para cima, pelas suas classes e turmas,
18 And the official genealogy included all their household, their wives, their sons and their daughters,throughout the community, since these men were obliged to keep sanctifying themselves anew.	18 a toda essa multidão, tanto às mulheres, como a seus filhos, dum e outro sexo, se davam fielmente alimentos daquelas coisas que tinham sido oferecidas.
19 The Aaronite priests who lived on the pasture lands belonging to their towns, had men named inevery town to distribute portions to every male among the priests and to everyone included in the officialgenealogy of the Levites.	19 Quanto aos sacerdotes, filhos de Aarão, que viviam pelos campos e pelos arrabaldes de cada cidade, havia homens, nominalmente designados, em cada localidade, que estavam encarregados de distribuir as porções a todos os varões da estirpe sacerdotal e levítica.
20 Hezekiah did this throughout all Judah. He did what Yahweh his God regards as good and right andloyal.	20 Ezequias fez tudo o que temos dito em todo o reino da Judá; fez o que era bom, recto e verdadeiro na presença do Senhor seu Deus.
21 Everything that he undertook, whether in the service of the Temple of God or in connection with thelaw or the commandments, he did in absolute devotion to his God, and so succeeded.	21 Em tudo o que dizia respeito ao serviço da casa do Senhor, à lei e aos mandamentos, agiu sempre desejoso de buscar o seu Deus de todo o seu coração; assim o fez, e foi bem sucedido.
