1 Chronicles 16

NEW JERUSALEM	VULGATA
1 They brought the ark of God in and put it inside the tent which David had erected for it, and broughtburnt offerings and made communion sacrifices in God's presence.	1 Attulerunt igitur arcam Dei, et constituerunt eam in medio tabernaculi quod tetenderat ei David : et obtulerunt holocausta et pacifica coram Deo.
2 And when David had finished making burnt offerings and communion sacrifices, he blessed thepeople in the name of Yahweh.	2 Cumque complesset David offerens holocausta et pacifica, benedixit populo in nomine Domini.
3 To all the Israelites, both men and women, to each, he then distributed a loaf of bread, a portion ofmeat and a raisin cake.	3 Et divisit universis per singulos, a viro usque ad mulierem, tortam panis, et partem assæ carnis bubalæ, et frixam oleo similam.
4 He appointed some of the Levites as ministers before the ark of Yahweh, to extol, glorify and praiseYahweh, God of Israel;	4 Constituitque coram arca Domini de Levitis, qui ministrarent, et recordarentur operum ejus, et glorificarent atque laudarent Dominum Deum Israël :
5 first Asaph, second Zechariah, then Uzziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-Edom and Jeiel, who played the lyre and harp, while Asaph played the cymbals.	5 Asaph principem, et secundum ejus Zachariam : porro Jahiel, et Semiramoth, et Jehiel, et Mathathiam, et Eliab, et Banaiam, et Obededom : Jehiel super organa psalterii et lyras : Asaph autem ut cymbalis personaret :
6 The priests Benaiah and Jahaziel continually blew the trumpet before the ark of the covenant of God.	6 Banaiam vero et Jaziel sacerdotes canere tuba jugiter coram arca fœderis Domini.
7 On that day, David was the first to assign to Asaph and his kinsmen the giving of thanks to Yahweh:	7 In illo die fecit David principem ad confitendum Domino Asaph et fratres ejus :
8 Give thanks to Yahweh, call his name aloud, proclaim his deeds to the peoples.	8 Confitemini Domino, et invocate nomen ejus : notas facite in populis adinventiones ejus.
9 Chant to him, play to him, sing about al his wonders!	9 Cantate ei, et psallite ei, et narrate omnia mirabilia ejus.
10 Take pride in his holy name, let your heart rejoice, you seekers of Yahweh!	10 Laudate nomen sanctum ejus : lætetur cor quærentium Dominum.
11 Seek out Yahweh, seek his strength, continual y seek out his presence!	11 Quærite Dominum, et virtutem ejus : quærite faciem ejus semper.
12 Remember what wonders he has done, what miracles, what rulings he has given,	12 Recordamini mirabilium ejus quæ fecit ; signorum illius, et judiciorum oris ejus,
13 you offspring of Israel his servant, you children of Jacob his chosen one!	13 semen Israël servi ejus, filii Jacob electi ejus.
14 For he is Yahweh our God, his authority extends throughout the world.	14 Ipse Dominus Deus noster : in universa terra judicia ejus.
15 For ever remember his covenant, the pact imposed for a thousand generations,	15 Recordamini in sempiternum pacti ejus : sermonis quem præcepit in mille generationes,
16 which he concluded with Abraham, which was sworn by him to Isaac,	16 quem pepigit cum Abraham, et juramenti illius cum Isaac.
17 since he confirmed it as a law for Jacob, as an eternal covenant for Israel,	17 Et constituit illud Jacob in præceptum, et Israël in pactum sempiternum,
18 saying, 'I wil give you the country; Canaan is the measure of your inheritance,	18 dicens : Tibi dabo terram Chanaan, funiculum hæreditatis vestræ :
19 'though you are few in number, only a few strangers there!'	19 cum essent pauci numero, parvi et coloni ejus.
20 As they wandered from nation to nation, from this kingdom to that people,	20 Et transierunt de gente in gentem, et de regno ad populum alterum.
21 he would not let anyone oppress them and on their account he admonished kings,	21 Non dimisit quemquam calumniari eos, sed increpavit pro eis reges.
22 'You are not to touch my anointed ones, my prophets are not to be harmed!'	22 Nolite tangere christos meos, et in prophetis meis nolite malignari.
23 Sing to Yahweh, all the earth, day after day proclaim his salvation!	23 Cantate Domino omnis terra ; annuntiate ex die in diem salutare ejus :
24 Declare his glory among the nations, his marvels to every people!	24 narrate in gentibus gloriam ejus ; in cunctis populis mirabilia ejus.
25 Great is Yahweh, worthy of all praise, more awesome than any of the gods.	25 Quia magnus Dominus, et laudabilis nimis, et horribilis super omnes deos.
26 Nothingness, al the gods of the nations. Yahweh it was who made the heavens,	26 Omnes enim dii populorum idola : Dominus autem cælos fecit.
27 in his presence are splendour and majesty, in his sanctuary strength and joy.	27 Confessio et magnificentia coram eo : fortitudo et gaudium in loco ejus.
28 Give Yahweh his due, families of peoples, give Yahweh his due of glory and power,	28 Afferte Domino, familiæ populorum : afferte Domino gloriam et imperium.
29 give Yahweh the glory due to his name! Bring an offering and enter his courts, bow down to Yahwehin his sacred court,	29 Date Domino gloriam ; nomini ejus levate sacrificium, et venite in conspectu ejus : et adorate Dominum in decore sancto.
30 tremble before him, al the earth! The world is firm, it cannot be moved,	30 Commoveatur a facie ejus omnis terra : ipse enim fundavit orbem immobilem.
31 let the heavens rejoice and earth be glad! Say among the nations, 'Yahweh is king!'	31 Lætentur cæli, et exultet terra, et dicant in nationibus : Dominus regnavit.
32 Let the sea thunder and al it holds, the countryside exult and everything that is in it,	32 Tonet mare et plenitudo ejus ; exultent agri, et omnia quæ in eis sunt.
33 and al the trees of the forest cry out for joy at Yahweh's approach, for he is coming to judge theearth.	33 Tunc laudabunt ligna saltus coram Domino : quia venit judicare terram.
34 Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his faithful love lasts for ever!	34 Confitemini Domino, quoniam bonus : quoniam in æternum misericordia ejus.
35 Say, 'Save us, God of our salvation, gather us together and free us from the nations, so that we maygive thanks to your holy name -- to be extolled whenever you are praised!'	35 Et dicite : Salva nos, Deus salvator noster, et congrega nos, et erue de gentibus : ut confiteamur nomini sancto tuo, et exultemus in carminibus tuis.
36 Blessed be Yahweh, God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! To which all the people said,'Amen, Al eluia!'	36 Benedictus Dominus Deus Israël, ab æterno usque in æternum. Et dicat omnis populo : Amen, et hymnum Domino.
37 There before the ark of the covenant of Yahweh David left Asaph and his kinsmen to maintain apermanent ministry before the ark as each day's ritual required,	37 Reliquit itaque ibi coram arca fœderis Domini Asaph et fratres ejus, ut ministrarent in conspectu arcæ jugiter per singulos dies, et vices suas.
38 and also Obed-Edom with his sixty-eight kinsmen. Obed-Edom son of Jeduthun, and Hosah weregatekeepers.	38 Porro Obededom, et fratres ejus sexaginta octo : et Obededom filium Idithun, et Hosa, constituit janitores ;
39 Zadok the priest and the priests, his kinsmen, he left before the dwelling of Yahweh on the high placeat Gibeon	39 Sadoc autem sacerdotem, et fratres ejus sacerdotes, coram tabernaculo Domini in excelso quod erat in Gabaon,
40 to bring burnt offerings to Yahweh unfailingly, morning and evening, on the altar of burnt offering, andto carry out al that is written in the Law of Yahweh laid down for Israel.	40 ut offerrent holocausta Domino super altare holocautomatis jugiter, mane et vespere, juxta omnia quæ scripta sunt in lege Domini, quam præcepit Israëli.
41 With them were Heman and Jeduthun and the rest of those who were chosen and assigned by nameto give thanks to Yahweh, 'for his faithful love lasts for ever'.	41 Et post eum Heman, et Idithun, et reliquos electos, unumquemque vocabulo suo ad confitendum Domino, quoniam in æternum misericordia ejus.
42 With them were Heman and Jeduthun to play trumpets and cymbals, as wel as instruments foraccompanying sacred song. The sons of Jeduthun were in charge of the gates.	42 Heman quoque et Idithun canentes tuba, et quatientes cymbala et omnia musicorum organa ad canendum Deo : filios autem Idithun fecit esse portarios.
43 Then al the people went back to their homes, and David went back to bless his household.	43 Reversusque est omnis populus in domum suam : et David, ut benediceret etiam domui suæ.
