1 Chronicles 16

NEW JERUSALEM	NOVA VULGATA
1 They brought the ark of God in and put it inside the tent which David had erected for it, and broughtburnt offerings and made communion sacrifices in God's presence.	1 Attulerunt igitur arcam Dei et constituerunt eam in me dio tabernaculi, quod tetenderat ei David, et obtulerunt holocausta et pacifica coram Deo.
2 And when David had finished making burnt offerings and communion sacrifices, he blessed thepeople in the name of Yahweh.	2 Cumque complesset David offerens holocausta et pacifica, benedixit populo in nomine Domini.
3 To all the Israelites, both men and women, to each, he then distributed a loaf of bread, a portion ofmeat and a raisin cake.	3 Et divisit unicuique de Israel a viro usque ad mulierem tortam panis et laganum palmarum et palatham.
4 He appointed some of the Levites as ministers before the ark of Yahweh, to extol, glorify and praiseYahweh, God of Israel;	4 Constituitque coram arca Domini de Levitis ministros, qui recordarentur operum eius et glorificarent atque laudarent Dominum, Deum Israel:
5 first Asaph, second Zechariah, then Uzziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-Edom and Jeiel, who played the lyre and harp, while Asaph played the cymbals.	5 Asaph principem et secundum eius Zachariam, porro Iehiel et Semiramoth et Iahiel et Matthathiam et Eliab et Banaiam et Obededom et Iehiel in organis psalterii et citharis, Asaph autem, ut cymbalis personaret,
6 The priests Benaiah and Jahaziel continually blew the trumpet before the ark of the covenant of God.	6 Banaiam vero et Iahaziel sacerdotes, ut canerent tubis iugiter coram arca foederis Dei.
7 On that day, David was the first to assign to Asaph and his kinsmen the giving of thanks to Yahweh:	7 In illo die, tunc fecit David prima vice confiteri Domino per manum Asaph et fratrum eius:
8 Give thanks to Yahweh, call his name aloud, proclaim his deeds to the peoples.	8 “ Confitemini Domino, invocate nomen eius, notas facite in populis opera eius.
9 Chant to him, play to him, sing about al his wonders!	9 Canite ei et psallite et narrate omnia mirabilia eius.
10 Take pride in his holy name, let your heart rejoice, you seekers of Yahweh!	10 Laudate nomen sanctum eius, laetetur cor quaerentium Dominum.
11 Seek out Yahweh, seek his strength, continual y seek out his presence!	11 Quaerite Dominum et virtutem eius, quaerite faciem eius semper.
12 Remember what wonders he has done, what miracles, what rulings he has given,	12 Recordamini mirabilium eius, quae fecit, signorum illius et iudiciorum oris eius,
13 you offspring of Israel his servant, you children of Jacob his chosen one!	13 semen Israel, servi eius, filii Iacob, electi illius.
14 For he is Yahweh our God, his authority extends throughout the world.	14 Ipse Dominus Deus noster; in universa terra iudicia eius.
15 For ever remember his covenant, the pact imposed for a thousand generations,	15 Recordamini in sempiternum pacti eius, sermonis, quem praecepit in mille generationes,
16 which he concluded with Abraham, which was sworn by him to Isaac,	16 pacti, quod pepigit cum Abraham, et iuramenti illius cum Isaac.
17 since he confirmed it as a law for Jacob, as an eternal covenant for Israel,	17 Et constituit illud Iacob in praeceptum et Israel in pactum sempiternum
18 saying, 'I wil give you the country; Canaan is the measure of your inheritance,	18 dicens: “Tibi dabo terram Chanaan funiculum hereditatis vestrae”,
19 'though you are few in number, only a few strangers there!'	19 cum essent pauci numero, parvi et coloni in ea.
20 As they wandered from nation to nation, from this kingdom to that people,	20 Et transierunt de gente in gentem et de regno ad populum alterum;
21 he would not let anyone oppress them and on their account he admonished kings,	21 non dimisit quemquam calumniari eos, sed increpuit pro eis reges:
22 'You are not to touch my anointed ones, my prophets are not to be harmed!'	22 “Nolite tangere christos meos et in prophetis meis nolite malignari”.
23 Sing to Yahweh, all the earth, day after day proclaim his salvation!	23 Canite Domino, omnis terra, annuntiate ex die in diem salutare eius.
24 Declare his glory among the nations, his marvels to every people!	24 Narrate in gentibus gloriam eius, in cunctis populis mirabilia illius.
25 Great is Yahweh, worthy of all praise, more awesome than any of the gods.	25 Quia magnus Dominus et laudabilis nimis et horribilis super omnes deos;
26 Nothingness, al the gods of the nations. Yahweh it was who made the heavens,	26 omnes enim dii populorum inania, Dominus autem caelos fecit.
27 in his presence are splendour and majesty, in his sanctuary strength and joy.	27 Magnificentia et pulchritudo coram eo, fortitudo et gaudium in loco eius.
28 Give Yahweh his due, families of peoples, give Yahweh his due of glory and power,	28 Afferte Domino, familiae populorum afferte Domino gloriam et imperium;
29 give Yahweh the glory due to his name! Bring an offering and enter his courts, bow down to Yahwehin his sacred court,	29 date Domino gloriam nominis eius, levate oblationem et venite in conspectu eius et adorate Dominum in decore sancto.
30 tremble before him, al the earth! The world is firm, it cannot be moved,	30 Commoveatur a facie illius omnis terra; ipse enim fundavit orbem immobilem.
31 let the heavens rejoice and earth be glad! Say among the nations, 'Yahweh is king!'	31 Laetentur caeli, et exsultet terra, et dicant in nationibus: “Dominus regnat!”.
32 Let the sea thunder and al it holds, the countryside exult and everything that is in it,	32 Tonet mare et plenitudo eius, exsultent agri et omnia, quae in eis sunt.
33 and al the trees of the forest cry out for joy at Yahweh's approach, for he is coming to judge theearth.	33 Tunc laudabunt ligna saltus coram Domino, quia venit iudicare terram.
34 Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his faithful love lasts for ever!	34 Confitemini Domino, quoniam bonus, quoniam in aeternum misericordia eius.
35 Say, 'Save us, God of our salvation, gather us together and free us from the nations, so that we maygive thanks to your holy name -- to be extolled whenever you are praised!'	35 Et dicite: “Salva nos, Deus salvator noster, et congrega nos et erue de gentibus, ut confiteamur nomini sancto tuo et exsultemus in carminibus tuis.
36 Blessed be Yahweh, God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! To which all the people said,'Amen, Al eluia!'	36 Benedictus Dominus, Deus Israel, ab aeterno usque in aeternum” ”. Et dixit omnis populus: “ Amen! ” et “ Laus Domino! ”.
37 There before the ark of the covenant of Yahweh David left Asaph and his kinsmen to maintain apermanent ministry before the ark as each day's ritual required,	37 Dereliquit itaque ibi coram arca foederis Domini Asaph et fratres eius, ut ministrarent in conspectu arcae iugiter secundum ritum singulorum dierum.
38 and also Obed-Edom with his sixty-eight kinsmen. Obed-Edom son of Jeduthun, and Hosah weregatekeepers.	38 Porro Obededom et fratres eius sexaginta octo et Obededom filium Idithun et Hosa constituit ianitores.
39 Zadok the priest and the priests, his kinsmen, he left before the dwelling of Yahweh on the high placeat Gibeon	39 Sadoc autem sacerdotem et fratres illius sacerdotes coram habitaculo Domini in excelso, quod erat in Gabaon,
40 to bring burnt offerings to Yahweh unfailingly, morning and evening, on the altar of burnt offering, andto carry out al that is written in the Law of Yahweh laid down for Israel.	40 ut offerrent holocausta Domino super altare holocautomatis iugiter, mane et vespere, iuxta omnia, quae scripta sunt in lege Domini, quam praecepit Israeli.
41 With them were Heman and Jeduthun and the rest of those who were chosen and assigned by nameto give thanks to Yahweh, 'for his faithful love lasts for ever'.	41 Et cum eis Heman et Idithun et reliquos electos, qui nominatim memorati sunt ad confitendum Domino: “ Quoniam in aeternum misericordia eius ”.
42 With them were Heman and Jeduthun to play trumpets and cymbals, as wel as instruments foraccompanying sacred song. The sons of Jeduthun were in charge of the gates.	42 Et cum eis Heman et Idithun canentes tuba et quatientes cymbala bene sonantia et omnia musicorum organa ad canendum Deo; filios autem Idithun fecit esse portarios.
43 Then al the people went back to their homes, and David went back to bless his household.	43 Reversusque est omnis populus unusquisque in domum suam et David, ut benediceret etiam domui suae.
