1 David conferred with the commanders of the thousands and the hundreds, in fact with al the leaders.	1 - Davide si consigliò coi tribuni, coi centurioni e con tutti i principi
2 Then, to the whole assembly of Israel, David said, 'If this has your approval, and if Yahweh our Godwil s it so, we shal send messengers to the rest of our brothers throughout the territories of Israel, and also tothe priests and Levites in their towns and pasture lands, bidding them join us.	2 e disse a tutta l'assemblea d'Israele: «Se piace a voi e se è volontà del Signore Dio nostro quanto vi dico, mandiamo [messaggeri] a tutti gli altri nostri fratelli in tutte le regioni d'Israele e ai sacerdoti e ai leviti che abitano nei dintorni delle città, affinchè si uniscano a noi
3 And then we will go and recover the ark of our God, for in the days of Saul we neglected to do it.'	3 per ricondurre l'arca del Dio nostro presso di noi, poichè noi non ce ne siamo occupati ai tempi di Saul».
4 The whole assembly agreed to this, because al the people thought that this was the right thing to do.	4 E tutta la moltitudine rispose che si dovesse fare così, poichè a tutto il popolo la cosa era piaciuta.
5 So David summoned al Israel from the Shihor of Egypt to the Pass of Hamath, to bring the ark of Godfrom Kiriath-Jearim.	5 Perciò Davide riunì tutto Israele da Sior di Egitto fino all'entrata di Emat per ricondurre l'arca di Dio da Cariatiarim;
6 David and al Israel then went up to Baalah, to Kiriath-Jearim in Judah, from there to bring up the arkof God, which bears the title 'Yahweh enthroned on the winged creatures'.	6 e Davide e tutti gli Israeliti ascesero fino al colle di Cariatiarim, che sta in Giuda, per trasportare di là l'arca del Signore Iddio, che siede sopra i cherubini, sulla quale è invocato il nome di lui.
7 They transported the ark of God out of Abinadab's house on a new cart. Uzzah and Ahio drove thecart.	7 Collocarono l'arca di Dio su un carro nuovo, [levandola] dalla casa di Abinadab. E Oza e suo fratello conducevano il carro.
8 David and al Israel danced before God with al their might, singing to the accompaniment of harps,lyres, tambourines, cymbals and trumpets.	8 Davide poi e tutto Israele danzavano dinanzi a Dio con tutta la loro forza, cantando e sonando arpe e salteri e timpani e cembali e trombe.
9 When they came to the threshing-floor of the Javelin, Uzzah reached out his hand to steady the ark,as the oxen were making it tilt.	9 Come furono arrivati all'aia di Chidon, Oza stese la sua mano per sostener l'arca, perchè un bue, ricalcitrando l'aveva inclinata.
10 This roused Yahweh's anger against Uzzah, and he struck him down because he had laid his handon the Ark, and there he died before God.	10 Il Signore si adirò contro Oza e lo percosse per aver toccato l'arca, e [Oza] morì là al cospetto del Signore.
11 David resented Yahweh's having broken out against Uzzah, and the place was given the namePerez-Uzzah, which it stil has today.	11 Davide si rattristò, perchè il Signore aveva fatto morire Oza e chiamò quel luogo "Divisione di Oza", fino al presente giorno.
12 That day David felt afraid of God. 'How can I bring the ark of God to be with me?' he said.	12 E Davide temette allora Iddio dicendo: «Come posso far venire l'arca di Dio presso di me?».
13 So David did not take the ark with him into the City of David but had it put in the house of Obed-Edom of Gath.	13 Perciò non la condusse presso di sè, cioè nella città di Davide, ma la fece portare in casa di Obededom di Get.
14 The ark of God remained with Obed-Edom, in his house, for three months, and Yahweh blessedObed-Edom's family and everything that belonged to him.	14 L'arca di Dio rimase in casa di Obededom per tre mesi, ed il Signore benedisse la casa di lui e tutto ciò che aveva.
