1 Chronicles 13

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 David conferred with the commanders of the thousands and the hundreds, in fact with al the leaders.	1 Después de consultar David con los jefes de millar y de ciento y con todos los caudillos,
2 Then, to the whole assembly of Israel, David said, 'If this has your approval, and if Yahweh our Godwil s it so, we shal send messengers to the rest of our brothers throughout the territories of Israel, and also tothe priests and Levites in their towns and pasture lands, bidding them join us.	2 dijo a toda la asamblea de Israel: «Si os parece bien y la cosa viene de Yahveh, nuestro Dios, vamos a mandar un mensaje a nuestros hermanos que han quedado a todas las regiones de Israel y, además, a los sacerdotes y levitas en sus ciudades y ejidos, para que se reúnan con nosotros;
3 And then we will go and recover the ark of our God, for in the days of Saul we neglected to do it.'	3 y volvamos a traer a nuestro lado el arca de nuestro Dios, ya que no nos hemos preocupado de ella desde los días de Saúl».
4 The whole assembly agreed to this, because al the people thought that this was the right thing to do.	4 Toda la asamblea resolvió hacerlo así, pues la propuesta pareció bien a todo el pueblo.
5 So David summoned al Israel from the Shihor of Egypt to the Pass of Hamath, to bring the ark of Godfrom Kiriath-Jearim.	5 Congregó entonces David a todo Israel, desde Sijor de Egipto hasta la Entrada de Jamat, para traer el arca de Dios desde Quiryat Yearim.
6 David and al Israel then went up to Baalah, to Kiriath-Jearim in Judah, from there to bring up the arkof God, which bears the title 'Yahweh enthroned on the winged creatures'.	6 Fue, pues, David, con todo Israel, hacia Baalá, a Quiryat Yearim de Judá, para subir allí el arca del Dios que lleva el Nombre de Yahveh que está sobre los querubines.
7 They transported the ark of God out of Abinadab's house on a new cart. Uzzah and Ahio drove thecart.	7 Cargaron el arca de Dios en una carreta nueva y se la llevaron de la casa de Abinadab; Uzzá y Ajyó conducían la carreta.
8 David and al Israel danced before God with al their might, singing to the accompaniment of harps,lyres, tambourines, cymbals and trumpets.	8 David y todo Israel bailaban delante de Dios con todas sus fuerzas, cantando y tocando cítaras, salterios, adufes, címbalos y trompetas.
9 When they came to the threshing-floor of the Javelin, Uzzah reached out his hand to steady the ark,as the oxen were making it tilt.	9 Al llegar a la era de Kidón, extendió Uzzá su mano para sostener el arca, porque los bueyes amenazaban volcarla.
10 This roused Yahweh's anger against Uzzah, and he struck him down because he had laid his handon the Ark, and there he died before God.	10 Se encendió contra Uzzá la ira de Yahveh y le hirió por haber extendido su mano hacia el arca; y Uzzá murió allí delante de Dios.
11 David resented Yahweh's having broken out against Uzzah, and the place was given the namePerez-Uzzah, which it stil has today.	11 Se irritó David porque Yahveh había castigado a Uzzá; y se llamó aquel lugar Peres de Uzzá hasta el día de hoy.
12 That day David felt afraid of God. 'How can I bring the ark of God to be with me?' he said.	12 Y tuvo David aquel día miedo a Dios, y dijo: «¿Cómo voy a llevar a mi casa el arca de Dios»
13 So David did not take the ark with him into the City of David but had it put in the house of Obed-Edom of Gath.	13 Y no trasladó David el arca de Dios a su casa, a la Ciudad de David, sino que la hizo llevar a la casa de Obededom de Gat.
14 The ark of God remained with Obed-Edom, in his house, for three months, and Yahweh blessedObed-Edom's family and everything that belonged to him.	14 El arca de Dios habitó tres meses en la casa de Obededom. Y bendijo Yahveh la casa de Obededom y cuanto tenía.
