1 David conferred with the commanders of the thousands and the hundreds, in fact with al the leaders.	1 David besprach sich mit den Obersten der Tausend- und Hundertschaften und mit allen führenden Leuten.
2 Then, to the whole assembly of Israel, David said, 'If this has your approval, and if Yahweh our Godwil s it so, we shal send messengers to the rest of our brothers throughout the territories of Israel, and also tothe priests and Levites in their towns and pasture lands, bidding them join us.	2 Dann sagte er zur ganzen Versammlung Israels: Wenn ihr einverstanden seid und wenn es dem Herrn, unserem Gott, gefällt, schicken wir überallhin Boten zu unseren Brüdern, die in allen Gegenden Israels geblieben sind, sowie zu den Priestern und Leviten, die in ihren Städten und auf ihren Weideflächen wohnen. Sie sollen sich bei uns versammeln
3 And then we will go and recover the ark of our God, for in the days of Saul we neglected to do it.'	3 und wir wollen die Lade unseres Gottes zu uns heraufholen; denn in den Tagen Sauls haben wir uns nicht um sie gekümmert.
4 The whole assembly agreed to this, because al the people thought that this was the right thing to do.	4 Die ganze Versammlung stimmte dem Vorhaben zu, denn der Plan gefiel dem ganzen Volk.
5 So David summoned al Israel from the Shihor of Egypt to the Pass of Hamath, to bring the ark of Godfrom Kiriath-Jearim.	5 David versammelte nun ganz Israel vom Schihor in Ägypten bis Lebo-Hamat, um die Lade Gottes von Kirjat-Jearim heraufzuholen.
6 David and al Israel then went up to Baalah, to Kiriath-Jearim in Judah, from there to bring up the arkof God, which bears the title 'Yahweh enthroned on the winged creatures'.	6 Er zog mit ganz Israel nach Baala bei Kirjat-Jearim, das zu Juda gehörte, um von dort die Lade Gottes heraufzuholen, über der der Name des Herrn, der über den Kerubim thront, ausgerufen worden ist.
7 They transported the ark of God out of Abinadab's house on a new cart. Uzzah and Ahio drove thecart.	7 Sie holten die Lade Gottes auf einem neuen Wagen vom Haus Abinadabs ab; Usa und Achjo lenkten den Wagen.
8 David and al Israel danced before God with al their might, singing to the accompaniment of harps,lyres, tambourines, cymbals and trumpets.	8 David und ganz Israel tanzten und sangen vor Gott mit ganzer Hingabe und spielten auf Zithern, Harfen und Pauken, mit Zimbeln und Trompeten.
9 When they came to the threshing-floor of the Javelin, Uzzah reached out his hand to steady the ark,as the oxen were making it tilt.	9 Als sie zur Tenne Kidons kamen, brachen die Rinder aus und Usa streckte seine Hand aus, um die Lade festzuhalten.
10 This roused Yahweh's anger against Uzzah, and he struck him down because he had laid his handon the Ark, and there he died before God.	10 Da entbrannte der Zorn des Herrn gegen Usa und er erschlug ihn, weil er seine Hand nach der Lade ausgestreckt hatte, sodass er dort vor Gott starb.
11 David resented Yahweh's having broken out against Uzzah, and the place was given the namePerez-Uzzah, which it stil has today.	11 David war sehr erregt darüber, dass der Herr den Usa so plötzlich dahingerafft hatte, und man nennt den Ort bis heute darum Perez-Usa (Wegraffung Usas).
12 That day David felt afraid of God. 'How can I bring the ark of God to be with me?' he said.	12 An jenem Tag bekam David Angst vor Gott, sodass er sagte: Wie soll ich die Lade Gottes zu mir bringen?
13 So David did not take the ark with him into the City of David but had it put in the house of Obed-Edom of Gath.	13 Er ließ sie darum nicht zu sich in die Davidstadt bringen, sondern stellte sie in das Haus Obed-Edoms aus Gat.
14 The ark of God remained with Obed-Edom, in his house, for three months, and Yahweh blessedObed-Edom's family and everything that belonged to him.	14 Drei Monate lang blieb die Lade Gottes im Haus Obed-Edoms und der Herr segnete das Haus Obed-Edoms und alles, was ihm gehörte.
