NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 David conferred with the commanders of the thousands and the hundreds, in fact with al the leaders.	1 Davide tenne consiglio con i capi di migliaia e di centinaia, con tutti i prìncipi.
2 Then, to the whole assembly of Israel, David said, 'If this has your approval, and if Yahweh our Godwil s it so, we shal send messengers to the rest of our brothers throughout the territories of Israel, and also tothe priests and Levites in their towns and pasture lands, bidding them join us.	2 A tutta l'assemblea d'Israele Davide disse: "Se vi sembra bene e se il Signore nostro Dio lo consente, comunichiamo ai nostri fratelli, che sono rimasti in tutte le regioni d'Israele, e con loro anche ai sacerdoti e ai leviti nelle città della loro residenza, di radunarsi presso di noi.
3 And then we will go and recover the ark of our God, for in the days of Saul we neglected to do it.'	3 Allora riporteremo l'arca del nostro Dio presso di noi, perché non ce ne siamo curati sin dal tempo di Saul".
4 The whole assembly agreed to this, because al the people thought that this was the right thing to do.	4 Tutta l'assemblea approvò di fare così, perché la proposta parve giusta agli occhi di tutto il popolo.
5 So David summoned al Israel from the Shihor of Egypt to the Pass of Hamath, to bring the ark of Godfrom Kiriath-Jearim.	5 Davide convocò tutto Israele da Sicor d'Egitto fino all'ingresso di Amat per riportare l'arca di Dio da Kiriat-Iearìm.
6 David and al Israel then went up to Baalah, to Kiriath-Jearim in Judah, from there to bring up the arkof God, which bears the title 'Yahweh enthroned on the winged creatures'.	6 Davide con tutto Israele salì a Baala verso Kiriat-Iearìm che apparteneva a Giuda, per prendere di là l'arca di Dio che portava il nome: "Il Signore che siede sui cherubini".
7 They transported the ark of God out of Abinadab's house on a new cart. Uzzah and Ahio drove thecart.	7 Dalla casa di Abinadàb trasportarono l'arca di Dio su un carro nuovo. Uzza e Achio guidavano il carro.
8 David and al Israel danced before God with al their might, singing to the accompaniment of harps,lyres, tambourines, cymbals and trumpets.	8 Davide e tutto Israele danzavano davanti a Dio con tutto l'entusiasmo cantando e suonando cetre, arpe, tamburi, cembali e trombe.
9 When they came to the threshing-floor of the Javelin, Uzzah reached out his hand to steady the ark,as the oxen were making it tilt.	9 Giunti all'aia di Chidon, Uzza stese la sua mano per trattenere l'arca, perché i buoi l'avevano fatta barcollare.
10 This roused Yahweh's anger against Uzzah, and he struck him down because he had laid his handon the Ark, and there he died before God.	10 Allora l'ira del Signore s'infiammò contro Uzza e lo colpì, perché aveva steso la sua mano sull'arca. Egli morì lì, al cospetto di Dio.
11 David resented Yahweh's having broken out against Uzzah, and the place was given the namePerez-Uzzah, which it stil has today.	11 Davide si afflisse perché il Signore si era irritato contro Uzza e chiamò quel luogo Perez-Uzza, fino al giorno d'oggi.
12 That day David felt afraid of God. 'How can I bring the ark of God to be with me?' he said.	12 In quel giorno Davide, avendo avuto paura di Dio, esclamò: "Come potrei far condurre presso di me l'arca di Dio?".
13 So David did not take the ark with him into the City of David but had it put in the house of Obed-Edom of Gath.	13 Davide non fece trasportare l'arca presso di sé nella Città di Davide, ma la diresse verso la casa di Obed-Edom, di Gat.
14 The ark of God remained with Obed-Edom, in his house, for three months, and Yahweh blessedObed-Edom's family and everything that belonged to him.	14 L'arca di Dio rimase nella casa di Obed-Edom tre mesi. Il Signore benedisse la casa di Obed-Edom e tutto quello che gli apparteneva.
