1 David conferred with the commanders of the thousands and the hundreds, in fact with al the leaders.	1 Ma Davidde tenne consulta coi tribuni, e coi centurioni, e con tutti i principi,
2 Then, to the whole assembly of Israel, David said, 'If this has your approval, and if Yahweh our Godwil s it so, we shal send messengers to the rest of our brothers throughout the territories of Israel, and also tothe priests and Levites in their towns and pasture lands, bidding them join us.	2 E disse a tutta l'adunanza d'Israele: Se piace a voi, e se quello, ch'io dirò viene dal Signore Dio nostro, mandiamo ad avvisare tutti gli altri nostri fratelli in tutte le regioni d'Israele, e i sacerdoti, e i Leviti, che abitano nei sobborghi delle città, che si adunino insieme con noi,
3 And then we will go and recover the ark of our God, for in the days of Saul we neglected to do it.'	3 Per ricondurre a casa nostra l'arca del nostro Dio: perocché noi non abbiamo pensato ad essa a' tempi di Saul.
4 The whole assembly agreed to this, because al the people thought that this was the right thing to do.	4 E tutta la moltitudine rispose, che si facesse così: perocché a tutto il popolo era stato gradito quel discorso.
5 So David summoned al Israel from the Shihor of Egypt to the Pass of Hamath, to bring the ark of Godfrom Kiriath-Jearim.	5 Davidde pertanto convocò tutto Israele da Sihor dell'Egitto sino all'ingresso di Emath, affìn di ricondurre l'arca di Dio da Cariathiarim.
6 David and al Israel then went up to Baalah, to Kiriath-Jearim in Judah, from there to bring up the arkof God, which bears the title 'Yahweh enthroned on the winged creatures'.	6 E salì David, e tutti gli uomini d'Israele sul colle di Cariathiarim, che è nella tribù di Giuda, per trasferir di colà l'arca del Signore Dio, il quale è assiso sopra i cherubini, dove s'invoca il suo nome.
7 They transported the ark of God out of Abinadab's house on a new cart. Uzzah and Ahio drove thecart.	7 E dalla casa di Abinadab portaron l'arca di Dio sopra un carro nuovo; e Oza, e il suo fratello guidavano il carro.
8 David and al Israel danced before God with al their might, singing to the accompaniment of harps,lyres, tambourines, cymbals and trumpets.	8 E David, e tutto quanto Israele davan segni di gioia dinanzi al Signore, cantando con tutte le loro forze de' cantici, e sonando cetere, e salteri, e timpani e cimbali, e trombe.
9 When they came to the threshing-floor of the Javelin, Uzzah reached out his hand to steady the ark,as the oxen were making it tilt.	9 Ma quando furon giunti all'aia di Chiton, Oza stese la mano per reggere l'arca: perocché un bue ricalcitrando l'avea fatta piegare alcun poco.
10 This roused Yahweh's anger against Uzzah, and he struck him down because he had laid his handon the Ark, and there he died before God.	10 Il Signore pertanto si adirò contro di Oza, e lo percosse per avere toccata l'arca: ed egli quivi morì dinanzi al Signore.
11 David resented Yahweh's having broken out against Uzzah, and the place was given the namePerez-Uzzah, which it stil has today.	11 E David si afflisse, perchè il Signore avea separato Oza, e diede a quel luogo il nome di Separazione di Oza: che dura anche in oggi.
12 That day David felt afraid of God. 'How can I bring the ark of God to be with me?' he said.	12 Ed egli allora ebbe timore di Dio, e disse: Come poss'io introdurre in mia casa l'arca di Dio?
13 So David did not take the ark with him into the City of David but had it put in the house of Obed-Edom of Gath.	13 E per tal motivo non la condusse in sua casa, viene a dire, nella città di Davidde, ma la fece indirizzare verso la casa di Obededom di Geth.
14 The ark of God remained with Obed-Edom, in his house, for three months, and Yahweh blessedObed-Edom's family and everything that belonged to him.	14 Quindi l'arca di Dio stette in casa di Obededom per tre mesi: e il Signore benedisse la casa di lui, e tutte le cose sue.
