1 Chronicles 13

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 David conferred with the commanders of the thousands and the hundreds, in fact with al the leaders.	1 Después de consultar a los jefes de mil y de cien hombres y a todos los oficiales,
2 Then, to the whole assembly of Israel, David said, 'If this has your approval, and if Yahweh our Godwil s it so, we shal send messengers to the rest of our brothers throughout the territories of Israel, and also tothe priests and Levites in their towns and pasture lands, bidding them join us.	2 David dijo a toda la asamblea de Israel: «Si a ustedes les parece bien y si el Señor, nuestro Dios, así lo decide, enviaremos mensajeros a nuestros hermanos que han quedado en todas las regiones de Israel y, además, a los sacerdotes y levitas en sus ciudades y poblados, a fin de que se reúnan con nosotros.
3 And then we will go and recover the ark of our God, for in the days of Saul we neglected to do it.'	3 Entonces traeremos junto a nosotros el Arca de nuestro Dios, ya que no nos hemos preocupado de ella en los tiempos de Saúl».
4 The whole assembly agreed to this, because al the people thought that this was the right thing to do.	4 Toda la asamblea resolvió hacerlo así, porque el pueblo entero dio su aprobación.
5 So David summoned al Israel from the Shihor of Egypt to the Pass of Hamath, to bring the ark of Godfrom Kiriath-Jearim.	5 David reunió a todo Israel, desde el Torrente de Egipto hasta la Entrada de Jamat, para traer el Arca de Dios desde Quiriat Iearim.
6 David and al Israel then went up to Baalah, to Kiriath-Jearim in Judah, from there to bring up the arkof God, which bears the title 'Yahweh enthroned on the winged creatures'.	6 Luego se dirigió con todo Israel a Baalá, a Quiriat Iearim, que está en Judá, para subir desde allí el Arca de Dios, que lleva el nombre del Señor, el que tiene su trono sobre los querubines.
7 They transported the ark of God out of Abinadab's house on a new cart. Uzzah and Ahio drove thecart.	7 Pusieron el Arca de Dios sobre un carro nuevo y la llevaron desde la casa de Abinadab. Uzá y Ajió conducían el carro,
8 David and al Israel danced before God with al their might, singing to the accompaniment of harps,lyres, tambourines, cymbals and trumpets.	8 mientras David y todo Israel bailaban con todas sus fuerzas delante de Dios, cantando y tocando cítaras, arpas, tamboriles, címbalos y trompetas.
9 When they came to the threshing-floor of the Javelin, Uzzah reached out his hand to steady the ark,as the oxen were making it tilt.	9 Cuando llegaron a la era de Quidón, Uzá extendió su mano para sostener el Arca, porque los bueyes habían resbalado.
10 This roused Yahweh's anger against Uzzah, and he struck him down because he had laid his handon the Ark, and there he died before God.	10 Entonces la ira del Señor se encendió contra Uzá y lo hirió de muerte por haber extendido su mano hacia el Arca, y Uzá murió allí mismo delante de Dios.
11 David resented Yahweh's having broken out against Uzzah, and the place was given the namePerez-Uzzah, which it stil has today.	11 David se conmovió, porque el Señor había acometido contra Uzá, y aquel lugar se llamó Peres Uzá –que significa «Brecha de Uzá»– hasta el día de hoy.
12 That day David felt afraid of God. 'How can I bring the ark of God to be with me?' he said.	12 Aquel día David tuvo miedo de Dios, y dijo: «¿Cómo voy a llevar a mi casa el Arca de Dios?».
13 So David did not take the ark with him into the City of David but had it put in the house of Obed-Edom of Gath.	13 Y no trasladó el Arca a su casa, a la Ciudad de David, sino que mandó que la llevaran a la casa de Obededom de Gat.
14 The ark of God remained with Obed-Edom, in his house, for three months, and Yahweh blessedObed-Edom's family and everything that belonged to him.	14 El Arca de Dios permaneció tres meses en la casa de Obededom. Y el Señor bendijo la casa de Obededom y todos sus bienes.
