2 Kings 12

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 Jehoash was seven years old when he came to the throne.	1 في السنة السابعة لياهو ملك يهوآش. ملك اربعين سنة في اورشليم. واسم امه ظبية من بئر سبع.
2 Jehoash became king in the seventh year of Jehu, and reigned for forty years in Jerusalem. Hismother's name was Zibiah of Beersheba.	2 وعمل يهوآش ما هو مستقيم في عيني الرب كل ايامه التي فيها علمه يهوياداع الكاهن.
3 Al his life Jehoash did what Yahweh regards as right, having been instructed by Jehoiada the priest.	3 الا ان المرتفعات لم تنتزع بل كان الشعب لا يزالون يذبحون ويوقدون على المرتفعات.
4 The high places, however, were not abolished, and the people stil offered sacrifices and incense onthe high places.	4 وقال يهوآش للكهنة. جميع فضة الاقداس التي ادخلت الى بيت الرب الفضة الرائجة فضة كل واحد حسب النفوس المقوّمة كل فضة يخطر ببال انسان ان يدخلها الى بيت الرب
5 Jehoash said to the priests, 'Al the money from the sacred revenues brought to the Temple ofYahweh, the money from personal taxes, and al the money voluntarily offered to the Temple-	5 ليأخذها الكهنة لانفسهم كل واحد من عند صاحبه وهم يرمّمون ما تهدم من البيت كل ما وجد فيه متهدما.
6 the priests are to receive this individual y from people of their acquaintance and wil carry out al therepairs to the Temple which need to be made.'	6 وفي السنة الثالثة والعشرين للملك يهوآش لم تكن الكهنة رمّموا ما تهدم من البيت.
7 Now in the twenty-third year of King Jehoash the priests had done no repairs to the Temple;	7 فدعا الملك يهوآش يهوياداع الكاهن والكهنة وقال لهم. لماذا لم ترمّموا ما تهدّم من البيت. فالآن لا تأخذوا فضة من عند اصحابكم بل اجعلوها لما تهدّم من البيت.
8 so King Jehoash summoned Jehoiada the priest and the other priests. 'Why are you not repairing theTemple?' he asked. 'You are no longer to accept money from people of your acquaintance but are to hand it overfor the Temple repairs.'	8 فوافق الكهنة على ان لا يأخذوا فضة من الشعب ولا يرمّموا ما تهدّم من البيت.
9 The priests agreed to accept no money from the people and no longer to be responsible for repairs tothe Temple.	9 فاخذ يهوياداع الكاهن صندوقا وثقب ثقبا في غطائه وجعله بجانب المذبح عن اليمين عند دخول الانسان الى بيت الرب. والكهنة حارسو الباب جعلوا فيه كل الفضة المدخلة الى بيت الرب.
10 Jehoiada the priest took a chest, bored a hole in the lid and placed it beside the pil ar, to the right ofthe entry to the Temple of Yahweh; in it the priests who guarded the threshold put al the money which was givenfor the Temple of Yahweh.	10 وكان لما رأوا الفضة قد كثرت في الصندوق انه صعد كاتب الملك والكاهن العظيم وصرّوا وحسبوا الفضة الموجودة في بيت الرب.
11 Whenever they saw that there was a great deal of money in the chest, the king's secretary wouldcome, and they would empty it out and reckon the money then in the Temple of Yahweh.	11 ودفعوا الفضة المحسوبة الى ايدي عاملي الشغل الموكلين على بيت الرب وانفقوها للنجارين والبنائين العاملين في بيت الرب
12 Once checked, they paid this money over to the masters of works attached to the Temple of Yahweh,and these in turn spent it on carpenters and builders working on the Temple of Yahweh,	12 ولبنائي الحيطان ونحّاتي الحجارة ولشراء الاخشاب والحجارة المنحوتة لترميم ما تهدّم من بيت الرب ولكل ما ينفق على البيت لترميمه.
13 on masons and stonecutters, and on buying timber and dressed stone to be used for repairs to theTemple of Yahweh; in short, for al the costs of the Temple repairs.	13 الا انه لم يعمل لبيت الرب طسوس فضة ولا مقصات ولا مناضح ولا ابواق كل آنية الذهب وآنية الفضة من الفضة الداخلة الى بيت الرب
14 But no silver basins, knives, sprinkling bowls, trumpets or gold or silver objects were made for theTemple of Yahweh out of the money presented,	14 بل كانوا يدفعونها لعاملي الشغل فكانوا يرمّمون بها بيت الرب.
15 which was al given to the masters of works for repairing the Temple of Yahweh.	15 ولم يحاسبوا الرجال الذين سلموهم الفضة بايديهم لكي يعطوها لعاملي الشغل لانهم كانوا يعملون بامانة.
16 No accounts were kept with the men to whom the money was paid over to be spent on the workmen,since they were honest in their work.	16 واما فضة ذبيحة الاثم وفضة ذبيحة الخطية فلم تدخل الى بيت الرب بل كانت للكهنة
17 Money offered in expiation of an offence or of a sin was not given to the Temple of Yahweh; that wasfor the priests.	17 حينئذ صعد حزائيل ملك ارام وحارب جتّ واخذها. ثم حول حزائيل وجهه ليصعد الى اورشليم.
18 At that time Hazael king of Aram went to war against Gath, and captured it; he then prepared to attackJerusalem.	18 فاخذ يهواش ملك يهوذا جميع الاقداس التي قدسها يهوشافاط ويهورام واخزيا آباؤه ملوك يهوذا واقداسه وكل الذهب الموجود في خزائن بيت الرب وبيت الملك وارسلها الى حزائيل ملك ارام فصعد عن اورشليم.
19 Jehoash king of Judah took all the sacred offerings dedicated by his ancestors, the kings of Judah,Jehoshaphat, Jehoram and Ahaziah, with those which he himself had dedicated, and all the gold which was tobe found in the treasuries of the Temple of Yahweh and of the palace; he sent it all to Hazael king of Aram, whoretired from Jerusalem.	19 وبقية امور يوآش وكل ما عمل أما هي مكتوبة في سفر اخبار الايام لملوك يهوذا.
20 The rest of the history of Joash, his entire career, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annals of theKings of Judah?	20 وقام عبيده وفتنوا فتنة وقتلوا يوآش في بيت القلعة حيث ينزل الى سّلى.
21 His own retainers rebelled and hatched a plot; they murdered Joash in the palace of the Millo . . .	21 لان يوزاكار بن شمعة ويهوزاباد بن شومير عبديه ضرباه فمات فدفنوه مع آبائه في مدينة داود وملك امصيا ابنه عوضا عنه
22 Jozacar son of Shimeath and Jehozabad son of Shomer were the retainers who struck the blows fromwhich he died. He was buried with his ancestors in the City of David; his son Amaziah succeeded him.
