1 Kings 15

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 In the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam son of Nebat, Abijam became king of Judah	1 El año dieciocho del rey Jeroboam, hijo de Nebat, comenzó a reinar Abiyyam sobre Judá.
2 and reigned for three years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Maacah descendant of Absalom.	2 Reinó tres años en Jerusalén; el nombres de su madre era Maaká, hija de Absalón.
3 In everything he fol owed the sinful example of his father before him; his heart was not wholly withYahweh his God, as the heart of David his ancestor had been.	3 Siguió en todo los pecados que su padre había hecho antes de él, y su corazón no fue por entero de Yahveh su Dios, como el corazón de David su padre.

10 and reigned for forty-one years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Maacah descendant ofAbsalom.	10 Reinó 41 años en Jerusalén; su abuela se llamaba Maaká, hija de Absalón.
11 Asa did what Yahweh regards as right, as his ancestor David had done.	11 Asá hizo lo recto a los ojos de Yahveh, como David su padre.
12 He drove the male prostitutes out of the country and got rid of all the idols which his ancestors hadmade.	12 Expulsó de la tierra a los consagrados a la prostitución, y quitó todos los ídolos que sus padres habían hecho.
13 He even deprived his grandmother Maacah of the dignity of Great Lady for having made an obscenityfor Asherah; Asa cut down her obscenity and burnt it in the ravine of the Kidron.	13 Incluso llegó a quitar a su abuela Maaká el título de Gran Dama porque había hecho un Horror para Aserá. 16 Asa and Baasha king of Israel were at war with each other throughout their reigns.	16 Hubo guerra entre Asá y Basá, rey de Israel, toda su vida.
17 Baasha king of Israel marched on Judah and fortified Ramah to blockade Asa king of Judah.	17 Basá, rey de Israel, subió contra Judá y fortificó Ramá, para cortar las communicaciones a Asá, rey de Judá.
18 Asa then took al the remaining silver and gold left in the treasuries of the Temple of Yahweh and theroyal palace. Entrusting this to his servants, King Asa sent them with the fol owing message to Ben-Hadad sonof Tabrimmon, son of Hezion, the king of Aram who lived in Damascus,	18 Sacó entonces Asá toda la plata y el oro que quedaban en los tesoros de la Casa de Yahveh y en los tesoros de la casa del rey, se lo dio a sus servidores y los envió a Ben Hadad, hijo de Tabrimmón, hijo de Jezyón, rey de Aram, que habitaba en Damasco, diciendo:
19 'Let us make an al iance between myself and yourself, between my father and your father! Look, Ihave sent you a gift of silver and gold. Come, break off your al iance with Baasha king of Israel, which wil makehim withdraw from me.'	19 «Haya alianza entre nosotros como entre mi padre y tu padre. Te envío un presente de plata y oro. Anda, rompe tu alianza con Basá, rey de Israel, para que se aleje de mí».
20 Ben-Hadad listened favourably to King Asa, and sent the generals of his armies to attack the towns ofIsrael; he ravaged Ijon, Dan, Abel-Beth-Maacah, al Chinneroth, and the whole territory of Naphtali.	20 Ben Hadad escuchó al rey Asá y envió a los jefes de su ejército contra las ciudades de Israel, conquistando Iyyón, Dan y Abel Bet Maaká, todo el Kinerot y todo el país de Neftalí.
21 When Baasha heard this he gave up fortifying Ramah and retired to Tirzah.	21 Cuando Basá lo supo suspendió las fortificaciones de Ramá y se volvió a Tirsá.
22 King Asa then summoned al Judah, no one was exempt; they took away the stones and timber withwhich Baasha had been fortifying Ramah, and King Asa used them to fortify Geba of Benjamin and Mizpah.	22 El rey Asá convocó a todo Judá sin excepción. 25 Nadab son of Jeroboam became king of Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and hereigned over Israel for two years.	25 Nadab, hijo de Jeroboam, comenzó a reinar en Israel el año segundo de Asá, rey de Judá, y reinó dos años sobre Israel.
26 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh; he copied his father's example and the sin into which he hadled Israel.	26 Hizo el mal a los ojos de Yahveh, y anduvo por el camino de su padre y en el pecado con que hizo pecar a Israel.
27 Baasha son of Ahijah, of the House of Issachar, plotted against him and murdered him at Gibbethon,a Philistine town which Nadab and all Israel were besieging.	27 Basá, hijo de Ajías, de la casa de Isacar, conspiró contra él y le mató en Guibbetón de los filisteos, cuando Nadab y todo Israel estaban asediando a Guibbetón.
28 Baasha kil ed Nadab and succeeded him in the third year of Asa king of Judah.	28 Basá le hizo morir el año tercero de Asá, rey de Judá, y reinó en su lugar.
29 No sooner was he king than he butchered the entire House of Jeroboam, not sparing a soul, and putan end to it, just as Yahweh had foretold through his servant Ahijah of Shiloh,	29 Cuando se hizo rey, mató a toda la casa de Jeroboam, no dejó a nadie de los de Jeroboam con vida, hasta exterminarlos según la palabra que Yahveh había dicho por boca de su siervo el profeta Ajías de Silo,

33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha son of Ahijah became king of Israel at Tirzah fortwenty-four years.	33 El año tercero de Asá, rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Basá, hijo de Ajías, sobre todo Israel en Tirsá; reinó veinticuatro años.
34 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh; he copied the example of Jeroboam and the sin into which hehad led Israel.	34 Hizo el mal a los ojos de Yahveh y fue por el camino de Jeroboam y por el pecado con que hizo pecar a Israel.
