Genesis 22

NEW JERUSALEM	Pattloch Bibel
1 It happened some time later that God put Abraham to the test. 'Abraham, Abraham!' he called. 'Here Iam,' he replied.	1 Nach diesen Ereignissen stellte Gott den Abraham auf die Probe. Er rief ihn: "Abraham!" Dieser antwortete: "Hier bin ich!"
2 God said, 'Take your son, your only son, your beloved Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah, where youare to offer him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I shal point out to you.'	2 Und Gott sprach: "Nimm deinen einzigen Sohn, den du lieb hast, den Isaak, begib dich in das Land Moria und bringe ihn dort auf einem der Berge, den ich dir noch zeigen werde, zum Brandopfer dar!"
3 Early next morning Abraham saddled his donkey and took with him two of his servants and his sonIsaac. He chopped wood for the burnt offering and started on his journey to the place which God had indicated tohim.	3 Abraham stand am frühen Morgen auf, sattelte seinen Esel und nahm seine beiden Diener und seinen Sohn Isaak mit sich. Er spaltete Holz zum Brandopfer. Dann machte er sich auf und ging an den Ort, den Gott genannt hatte.
4 On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.	4 Am dritten Tage erhob Abraham seine Augen und sah von ferne den Ort.
5 Then Abraham said to his servants, 'Stay here with the donkey. The boy and I are going over there;we shal worship and then come back to you.'	5 Abraham sprach zu seinen Dienern: "Bleibt ihr hier bei dem Esel! Ich aber und der Knabe wollen dorthin gehen. Wir wollen uns zur Anbetung niederwerfen und dann zu euch zurückkehren."
6 Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering, loaded it on Isaac, and carried in his own hands the fireand the knife. Then the two of them set out together.	6 Da nahm Abraham das Holz zum Brandopfer und legte es seinem Sohn Isaak auf. Er selbst trug das Feuer und das Messer in seiner Hand. So gingen die beiden miteinander.
7 Isaac spoke to his father Abraham. 'Father?' he said. 'Yes, my son,' he replied. 'Look,' he said, 'hereare the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?'	7 Isaak sprach zu seinem Vater Abraham: "Mein Vater!" Der antwortete: "Hier bin ich, mein Sohn!" Jener sagte: "Hier ist das Feuer und das Holz; wo aber ist das Schaf zum Brandopfer?"
8 Abraham replied, 'My son, God himself wil provide the lamb for the burnt offering.' And the two ofthem went on together.	8 Abraham antwortete: "Gott selbst wird schon für das Schaf zum Brandopfer sorgen, mein Sohn!" So gingen die beiden miteinander.
9 When they arrived at the place which God had indicated to him, Abraham built an altar there, andarranged the wood. Then he bound his son and put him on the altar on top of the wood.	9 Sie kamen an den Ort, den Gott ihnen genannt hatte. Abraham baute daselbst den Altar, er richtete das Holz zurecht, band seinen Sohn Isaak fest und legte ihn auf den Altar, oben auf die Holzstücke.
10 Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to kill his son.	10 Dann streckte Abraham seine Hand aus und nahm das Messer, um seinen Sohn zu schlachten.
11 But the angel of Yahweh cal ed to him from heaven. 'Abraham, Abraham!' he said. 'Here I am,' hereplied.	11 Da rief ihm der Engel des Herrn vom Himmel her zu und sprach: "Abraham! Abraham!" Der antwortete: "Hier bin ich!"
12 'Do not raise your hand against the boy,' the angel said. 'Do not harm him, for now I know you fearGod. You have not refused me your own beloved son.'	12 Jener sprach: "Strecke deine Hand nicht nach dem Knaben aus! Tue ihm nichts an; denn jetzt erkenne ich, daß du ein gottesfürchtiger Mann bist und selbst deinen einzigen Sohn mir nicht vorenthalten hast."
13 Then looking up, Abraham saw a ram caught by its horns in a bush. Abraham took the ram andoffered it as a burnt offering in place of his son.	13 Abraham aber hob seine Augen empor, schaute hin und erblickte einen Widder, der sich mit seinen Hörnern im Gestrüpp verfangen hatte. Abraham ging hin, nahm den Widder und brachte ihn statt seines Sohnes zum Brandopfer dar.
14 Abraham cal ed this place 'Yahweh provides', and hence the saying today: 'On the mountain Yahwehprovides.'	14 Er nannte den Namen jenes Ortes "Der Herr sieht". Heute noch sagt man: "Auf dem Berge wird der Herr gesehen."
15 The angel of Yahweh cal ed Abraham a second time from heaven.	15 Der Engel des Herrn rief dem Abraham vom Himmel her zum zweitenmal zu:
16 'I swear by my own self, Yahweh declares, that because you have done this, because you have notrefused me your own beloved son,	16 "Ich schwöre bei mir selbst, so ist des Herrn Ausspruch, weil du dies getan hast und deinen einzigen Sohn mir nicht vorenthalten hast,
17 I wil shower blessings on you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars of heaven andthe grains of sand on the seashore. Your descendants wil gain possession of the gates of their enemies.	17 will ich dich segnen mit reichem Segen und will deine Nachkommen überaus zahlreich machen wie die Himmelssterne und wie den Sand am Ufer des Meeres, und deine Nachkommen sollen das Tor ihrer Feinde in Besitz nehmen!
18 Al nations on earth wil bless themselves by your descendants, because you have obeyed mycommand.'	18 Und durch deine Nachkommenschaft sollen gesegnet werden alle Völker der Erde, weil du meinem Ruf gehorchtest."
19 Abraham went back to his servants, and together they set out for Beersheba, and Abraham settled inBeersheba.	19 Dann kehrte Abraham zu seinen Dienern zurück. Sie brachen auf und gingen gemeinsam nach Beerseba, und Abraham schlug in Beerseba seinen Wohnsitz auf.
20 It happened some time later that Abraham received word that Milcah, too, had now borne sons to hisbrother Nahor:	20 Nach diesen Begebenheiten ward dem Abraham gemeldet: "Höre, auch Milka hat deinem Bruder Nachor Kinder geboren,
21 Uz his first-born, Buz his brother, Kemuel father of Aram,	21 den Uz, seinen Erstgeborenen, den Bus, seinen Bruder, und den Kemuel, den Stammvater der Aramäer,
22 Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, Bethuel	22 den Kesed, den Chaso, den Pildasch, den Jidlaph und den Betuel."
23 (and Bethuel was the father of Rebekah). These were the eight children Milcah gave Nahor,Abraham's brother.	23 Betuel zeugte die Rebekka. Das sind die acht, die Milka dem Nachor, dem Bruder Abrahams, geboren hat.
24 He had a concubine named Reumah, and she too had children: Tebah, Gaham, Tahash andMaacah.	24 Seine Nebenfrau, mit Namen Reuma, hat ebenfalls geboren, nämlich den Tebach, den Gacham, den Tachasch und die Maacha.
