Genesis 22

1 It happened some time later that God put Abraham to the test. 'Abraham, Abraham!' he called. 'Here Iam,' he replied.	1 Miután mindezek megtörténtek, Isten próbára tette Ábrahámot. Megszólította őt: »Ábrahám!« Ő azt felelte: »Itt vagyok!«
2 God said, 'Take your son, your only son, your beloved Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah, where youare to offer him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I shal point out to you.'	2 Isten akkor azt mondta neki: »Vedd egyszülött fiadat, Izsákot, akit szeretsz, és menj el a Mória földjére. Áldozd fel ott egészen elégő áldozatul az egyik hegyen, amelyet majd mutatok neked!«
3 Early next morning Abraham saddled his donkey and took with him two of his servants and his sonIsaac. He chopped wood for the burnt offering and started on his journey to the place which God had indicated tohim.	3 Erre Ábrahám kora reggel felkelt, megnyergelte szamarát, maga mellé vette két szolgáját és a fiát, Izsákot, s miután fát hasogatott az egészen elégő áldozathoz, elindult arra a helyre, amelyet Isten mondott neki.
4 On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.	4 A harmadik napon, amikor felemelte szemét, meglátta azt a helyet a távolban.
5 Then Abraham said to his servants, 'Stay here with the donkey. The boy and I are going over there;we shal worship and then come back to you.'	5 Azt mondta erre szolgáinak: »Várjatok itt a szamárral; én meg a gyermek elmegyünk amoda, s miután imádkoztunk, visszatérünk hozzátok!«
6 Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering, loaded it on Isaac, and carried in his own hands the fireand the knife. Then the two of them set out together.	6 Vette tehát az egészen elégő áldozathoz való fát, feltette a fiára, Izsákra, ő pedig a tüzet és a kardot vitte a kezében. Amint így ketten együtt mentek,
7 Isaac spoke to his father Abraham. 'Father?' he said. 'Yes, my son,' he replied. 'Look,' he said, 'hereare the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?'	7 azt mondta Izsák az apjának, Ábrahámnak: »Apám!« Ő válaszolt: »Mit akarsz, fiam?« »Íme – mondta a fiú –, itt a tűz meg a fa, de hol van az egészen elégő áldozat?«
8 Abraham replied, 'My son, God himself wil provide the lamb for the burnt offering.' And the two ofthem went on together.	8 Ábrahám azt felelte: »Fiam, Isten majd gondoskodik magának egészen elégő áldozatról!« Így mentek ketten együtt,
9 When they arrived at the place which God had indicated to him, Abraham built an altar there, andarranged the wood. Then he bound his son and put him on the altar on top of the wood.	9 míg végül eljutottak arra a helyre, amelyet Isten mutatott neki. Ábrahám oltárt épített ott, elrendezte rajta a fát, s miután megkötözte a fiát, Izsákot, feltette az oltárra, a farakásra.
10 Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to kill his son.	10 Aztán Ábrahám kinyújtotta kezét, és megfogta a kardot, hogy feláldozza a fiát.
11 But the angel of Yahweh cal ed to him from heaven. 'Abraham, Abraham!' he said. 'Here I am,' hereplied.	11 De íme, az Úr angyala kiáltott a mennyből, és azt mondta: »Ábrahám, Ábrahám!« Ő azt felelte: »Itt vagyok!«
12 'Do not raise your hand against the boy,' the angel said. 'Do not harm him, for now I know you fearGod. You have not refused me your own beloved son.'	12 Azt mondta erre neki: »Ne nyújtsd ki kezed a gyermekre, és ne árts neki semmit! Most már tudom, hogy féled Istent, s a kedvemért egyszülött fiadnak sem kegyelmeztél!«
13 Then looking up, Abraham saw a ram caught by its horns in a bush. Abraham took the ram andoffered it as a burnt offering in place of his son.	13 Erre Ábrahám felemelte a szemét, s meglátott maga mögött egy kost, amely szarvánál fogva fennakadt a bozótban. Elhozta, és a fia helyett azt áldozta fel egészen elégő áldozatul.
14 Abraham cal ed this place 'Yahweh provides', and hence the saying today: 'On the mountain Yahwehprovides.'	14 Annak a helynek ezért ezt a nevet adta: »Az Úr gondoskodik!« Azért mondják mindmáig: »A hegyen majd gondoskodik az Úr!«
15 The angel of Yahweh cal ed Abraham a second time from heaven.	15 Majd másodszor is megszólította az Úr angyala Ábrahámot a mennyből, és azt mondta:
16 'I swear by my own self, Yahweh declares, that because you have done this, because you have notrefused me your own beloved son,	16 »Önmagamra esküszöm – mondja az Úr –, hogy mivel ezt megtetted, s a kedvemért egyszülött fiadnak sem kegyelmeztél,
17 I wil shower blessings on you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars of heaven andthe grains of sand on the seashore. Your descendants wil gain possession of the gates of their enemies.	17 megáldalak, és megsokasítom ivadékodat, mint az ég csillagait és mint a tengerpart fövenyét: utódod birtokolni fogja ellenségeinek kapuit,
18 Al nations on earth wil bless themselves by your descendants, because you have obeyed mycommand.'	18 és a te utódodban nyer áldást a föld minden népe, mivel engedelmeskedtél szavamnak!«
19 Abraham went back to his servants, and together they set out for Beersheba, and Abraham settled inBeersheba.	19 Erre Ábrahám visszatért szolgáihoz, elindultak, és elmentek együtt Beersebába; Ábrahám ezután Beersebában lakott.
20 It happened some time later that Abraham received word that Milcah, too, had now borne sons to hisbrother Nahor:	20 Miután ezek így végbementek, hírül hozták Ábrahámnak, hogy Melka szintén szült fiakat Náchornak, a fivérének:
21 Uz his first-born, Buz his brother, Kemuel father of Aram,	21 Húszt, az elsőszülöttet, Búzt, ennek öccsét, továbbá Kámuelt, Arám atyját,
22 Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, Bethuel	22 Kászedet, Azáut, valamint Feldást, Jedláfot
23 (and Bethuel was the father of Rebekah). These were the eight children Milcah gave Nahor,Abraham's brother.	23 és Bátuelt, akitől Rebekka született: ezt a nyolcat szülte Melka Náchornak, Ábrahám fivérének.
24 He had a concubine named Reumah, and she too had children: Tebah, Gaham, Tahash andMaacah.	24 Mellékfelesége pedig, akit Reumának hívtak, Tábét, Gáhámot, Táhást és Maákát szülte.
