Genesis 22

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 It happened some time later that God put Abraham to the test. 'Abraham, Abraham!' he called. 'Here Iam,' he replied.	1 Dopo queste cose, Dio tentò Abramo dicendogli: "Abramo, Abramo!". Rispose: "Eccomi!".
2 God said, 'Take your son, your only son, your beloved Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah, where youare to offer him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I shal point out to you.'	2 Riprese: "Su, prendi tuo figlio, il tuo diletto che tu ami, Isacco, e va' nel territorio di Moria, e offrilo ivi in olocausto su di un monte che io ti dirò!".
3 Early next morning Abraham saddled his donkey and took with him two of his servants and his sonIsaac. He chopped wood for the burnt offering and started on his journey to the place which God had indicated tohim.	3 Abramo si alzò di mattino per tempo, sellò il suo asino, prese con sé due suoi servi ed Isacco suo figlio, spaccò la legna per l'olocausto e si mise in viaggio verso il luogo che Dio gli aveva detto.
4 On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.	4 Al terzo giorno Abramo, alzando gli occhi, vide da lontano il luogo.
5 Then Abraham said to his servants, 'Stay here with the donkey. The boy and I are going over there;we shal worship and then come back to you.'	5 Allora disse ai suoi due servi: "Sedetevi e dimorate qui, con l'asino; io e il ragazzo andremo fin là, faremo adorazione e poi ritorneremo da voi".
6 Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering, loaded it on Isaac, and carried in his own hands the fireand the knife. Then the two of them set out together.	6 Abramo prese la legna dell'olocausto e la caricò su Isacco, suo figlio; egli prese in mano il fuoco e il coltello e s'incamminarono tutt'e due insieme.
7 Isaac spoke to his father Abraham. 'Father?' he said. 'Yes, my son,' he replied. 'Look,' he said, 'hereare the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?'	7 Isacco si rivolse a suo padre Abramo e disse: "Padre mio!". Rispose: "Eccomi, figlio mio!". Riprese: "Ecco qui il fuoco e la legna, ma dov'è l'agnello per l'olocausto?".
8 Abraham replied, 'My son, God himself wil provide the lamb for the burnt offering.' And the two ofthem went on together.	8 Rispose Abramo: "Dio si provvederà da sé l'agnello per l'olocausto, figlio mio!". E proseguirono tutt'e due insieme.
9 When they arrived at the place which God had indicated to him, Abraham built an altar there, andarranged the wood. Then he bound his son and put him on the altar on top of the wood.	9 Così arrivarono al luogo che Dio gli aveva detto e ivi Abramo edificò l'altare, vi depose la legna, legò Isacco suo figlio e lo depose sull'altare sopra la legna.
10 Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to kill his son.	10 Poi Abramo stese la mano e prese il coltello per scannare il suo figliolo.
11 But the angel of Yahweh cal ed to him from heaven. 'Abraham, Abraham!' he said. 'Here I am,' hereplied.	11 Ma l'angelo del Signore lo chiamò dal cielo e gli disse: "Abramo, Abramo!". Rispose: "Eccomi!".
12 'Do not raise your hand against the boy,' the angel said. 'Do not harm him, for now I know you fearGod. You have not refused me your own beloved son.'	12 Riprese: "Non stendere la mano contro il ragazzo e non fargli alcun male! Ora so che rispetti Dio e non mi hai risparmiato il tuo figliolo, l'unico tuo!".
13 Then looking up, Abraham saw a ram caught by its horns in a bush. Abraham took the ram andoffered it as a burnt offering in place of his son.	13 Allora Abramo alzò gli occhi e guardò; ed ecco: un ariete ardente, ghermito dal fuoco, impigliato con le corna in un cespuglio. Abramo andò a prendere l'ariete e l'offrì in olocausto al posto del suo figliolo.
14 Abraham cal ed this place 'Yahweh provides', and hence the saying today: 'On the mountain Yahwehprovides.'	14 Abramo chiamò il nome del santuario "il Signore provvede", onde oggi si dice: "Sul monte il Signore provvede".
15 The angel of Yahweh cal ed Abraham a second time from heaven.	15 Poi l'angelo del Signore chiamò dal cielo Abramo per la seconda volta
16 'I swear by my own self, Yahweh declares, that because you have done this, because you have notrefused me your own beloved son,	16 e disse: "Giuro per me stesso, oracolo del Signore: perché tu hai fatto questo e non hai risparmiato il tuo figliolo, l'unico tuo,
17 I wil shower blessings on you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars of heaven andthe grains of sand on the seashore. Your descendants wil gain possession of the gates of their enemies.	17 io ti benedirò con ogni benedizione e moltiplicherò assai la tua discendenza, come le stelle del cielo e come la sabbia ch'è sul lido del mare; la tua discendenza s'impadronirà della porta dei suoi nemici
18 Al nations on earth wil bless themselves by your descendants, because you have obeyed mycommand.'	18 e si diranno benedette per la tua discendenza tutte le nazioni della terra, in compenso del fatto che tu hai ubbidito alla mia voce".
19 Abraham went back to his servants, and together they set out for Beersheba, and Abraham settled inBeersheba.	19 Poi Abramo tornò dai suoi servi, e insieme si misero in cammino verso Bersabea; e Abramo abitò a Bersabea.
20 It happened some time later that Abraham received word that Milcah, too, had now borne sons to hisbrother Nahor:	20 Dopo queste cose, ad Abramo fu portato un rapporto in questi termini: "Ecco, Milca ha partorito anch'essa dei figli a Nacor tuo fratello:
21 Uz his first-born, Buz his brother, Kemuel father of Aram,	21 il primogenito Uz, suo fratello Buz, Kemuèl, il padre di Aram,
22 Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, Bethuel	22 Chèsed, Azo, Pildas, Idlaf e Betuèl.
23 (and Bethuel was the father of Rebekah). These were the eight children Milcah gave Nahor,Abraham's brother.	23 Betuèl generò Rebecca. Questi otto partorì Milca a Nacor, fratello di Abramo.
24 He had a concubine named Reumah, and she too had children: Tebah, Gaham, Tahash andMaacah.	24 La concubina ch'egli aveva, di nome Reuma, anch'essa partorì dei figli: Tebach, Gacam, Tacas e Maaca".
