1 Brothers, I could not talk to you as spiritual people, but as fleshly people, as infants in Christ.	1 E io, o fratelli, non potei parlare a voi come a uomini spirituali ma come a carnali, come a bimbi nel Cristo.
2 I fed you milk, not solid food, because you were unable to take it. Indeed, you are still not able, even now,	2 Latte vi diedi a bere, non cibo solido che non avreste ancora potuto sopportare. Anzi, neppure al presente potete tollerarlo,
3 for you are still of the flesh. While there is jealousy and rivalry among you, are you not of the flesh, and behaving in an ordinary human way?	3 perché siete tuttora carnali. Dacchè, infatti, ci sono tra voi gelosie e con tese, non siete forse carnali, cioè, non vi comportate forse alla maniera di uomini?
4 Whenever someone says, "I belong to Paul," and another, "I belong to Apollos," are you not merely human?	4 Sì, quando uno dice: «Io, per me, sono di Paolo!» e l’altro: «Io di Apollo!» non siete poveri uomini?
5 What is Apollos, after all, and what is Paul? Ministers through whom you became believers, just as the Lord assigned each one.	5 Che cos'è dunque Apollo? e che cos’è Paolo? Servi, grazie ai quali giungeste alla fede; e ciascuno secondo il compito che gli assegnò il Signore.
6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God caused the growth.	6 Io piantai, Apollo irrigò, ma era Dio che faceva crescere.
7 Therefore, neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who causes the growth.	7 Di conseguenza, né colui che pianta è qualche cosa, né colui che irriga, ma colui che fa crescere: Dio.
8 The one who plants and the one who waters are equal, and each will receive wages in proportion to his labor.	8 Colui che pianta come colui che irriga sono tutt'uno; ma ciascuno riceverà il suo salario, in proporzione, della sua fatica.
9 For we are God's co-workers; you are God's field, God's building.	9 Poiché noi siamo collaboratori di Dio, e voi di Dio siete il campo, l'edificio.
10 According to the grace of God given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building upon it. But each one must be careful how he builds upon it,	10 Secondo la grazia che mi elargì Iddio, posi, da esperto architetto, il fondamento e un altro vi costruisce sopra. Ognuno però badi come vi costruisce sopra;
11 for no one can lay a foundation other than the one that is there, namely, Jesus Christ.	11 poiché nessuno può porre un altro fondamento, oltre quello che vi sta di già; e questo è Gesù Cristo.
12 If anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw,	12 Ora, se si costruisce su questo fondamento con oro, argento, pietre preziose, legname, fieno, stoppia,
13 the work of each will come to light, for the Day will disclose it. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire (itself) will test the quality of each one's work.	13 l’opera di ognuno sì renderà manifesta. Il giorno del giudizio la farà conoscere, dato che esso si ha da rivelare col fuoco, e il fuoco stesso proverà la qualità dell’opera di ciascuno.
14 If the work stands that someone built upon the foundation, that person will receive a wage.	14 Se l’opera di chi ha costruito sussisterà, egli ne riceverà la mercede;
15 But if someone's work is burned up, that one will suffer loss; the person will be saved, but only as through fire.	15 se l’opera di qualcuno sarà consumata dal fuoco, egli la perder quanto a lui, però, sarà salvo, ma come attraverso il fuoco.
16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?	16 Non sapete che siete tempio di Dio e che lo Spirito di Dio abita in voi?
17 If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy that person; for the temple of God, which you are, is holy.	17 Se qualcuno manda in rovina il tempio di Dio, Iddio manderà in rovina lui; poiché il tempio di Dio è santo, e tale tempio siete voi.
18 Let no one deceive himself. If any one among you considers himself wise in this age, let him become a fool so as to become wise.	18 Nessuno si illuda! Se qualcuno tra voi stima d’essere un sapiente in questo mondo, si faccia stolto, per diventare sapiente.
19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in the eyes of God, for it is written: "He catches the wise in their own ruses,"	19 La sapienza di questo mondo è stoltezza agli occhi di Dio. Sta infatti scritto: Egli prende i saggi al laccio della stessa loro astuzia;
20 and again: "The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain."	20 e ancora: il Signore sa che i pensieri dei sapienti sono vani.
21 So let no one boast about human beings, for everything belongs to you,	21 Di conseguenza, nessuno si glori negli uomini. Sì tutto è vostro,
22 Paul or Apollos or Kephas, or the world or life or death, or the present or the future: all belong to you,	22 sia Paolo, sia Apollo, sia Cefa; il mondo, la vita e la morte; le cose presenti come le cose future: tutto è vostro,
23 and you to Christ, and Christ to God.	23 ma voi siete di Cristo e Cristo, di Dio.
