NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 Again he entered the synagogue. There was a man there who had a withered hand.	1 Il entra de nouveau dans une synagogue, et il y avait là un homme qui avait la main desséchée.
2 They watched him closely to see if he would cure him on the sabbath so that they might accuse him.	2 Et ils l'épiaient pour voir s'il allait le guérir, le jour du sabbat, afin de l'accuser.
3 He said to the man with the withered hand, "Come up here before us."	3 Il dit à l'homme qui avait la main sèche: "Lève-toi, là, au milieu."
4 Then he said to them, "Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil, to save life rather than to destroy it?" But they remained silent.	4 Et il leur dit: "Est-il permis, le jour du sabbat, de faire du bien plutôt que de faire du mal, de sauverune vie plutôt que de la tuer?" Mais eux se taisaient.
5 Looking around at them with anger and grieved at their hardness of heart, he said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out and his hand was restored.	5 Promenant alors sur eux un regard de colère, navré de l'endurcissement de leur coeur, il dit à l'homme:"Etends la main." Il l'étendit et sa main fut remise en état.
6 The Pharisees went out and immediately took counsel with the Herodians against him to put him to death.	6 Etant sortis, les Pharisiens tenaient aussitôt conseil avec les Hérodiens contre lui, en vue de le perdre.
7 Jesus withdrew toward the sea with his disciples. A large number of people (followed) from Galilee and from Judea.	7 Jésus avec ses disciples se retira vers la mer et une grande multitude le suivit de la Galilée; et de laJudée,
8 Hearing what he was doing, a large number of people came to him also from Jerusalem, from Idumea, from beyond the Jordan, and from the neighborhood of Tyre and Sidon.	8 de Jérusalem, de l'Idumée, de la Transjordane, des environs de Tyr et de Sidon, une grande multitude,ayant entendu tout ce qu'il faisait, vint à lui.
9 He told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, so that they would not crush him.	9 Et il dit à ses disciples qu'une petite barque fût tenue à sa disposition, à cause de la foule, pour qu'ilsne l'écrasent pas.
10 He had cured many and, as a result, those who had diseases were pressing upon him to touch him.	10 Car il en guérit beaucoup, si bien que tous ceux qui avaient des infirmités se jetaient sur lui pour letoucher.
11 And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him and shout, "You are the Son of God."	11 Et les esprits impurs, lorsqu'ils le voyaient, se jetaient à ses pieds et criaient en disant: "Tu es le Filsde Dieu!"
12 He warned them sternly not to make him known.	12 Et il leur enjoignait avec force de ne pas le faire connaître.
13 He went up the mountain and summoned those whom he wanted and they came to him.	13 Puis il gravit la montagne et il appelle à lui ceux qu'il voulait. Ils vinrent à lui,
14 He appointed twelve (whom he also named apostles) that they might be with him and he might send them forth to preach	14 et il en institua Douze pour être ses compagnons et pour les envoyer prêcher,
15 and to have authority to drive out demons:	15 avec pouvoir de chasser les démons.
16 (he appointed the twelve:) Simon, whom he named Peter;	16 Il institua donc les Douze, et il donna à Simon le nom de Pierre,
17 James, son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James, whom he named Boanerges, that is, sons of thunder;	17 puis Jacques, le fils de Zébédée, et Jean, le frère de Jacques, auxquels il donna le nom de Boanergès,c'est-à-dire fils du tonnerre,
18 Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus; Thaddeus, Simon the Cananean,	18 puis André, Philippe, Barthélemy, Matthieu, Thomas, Jacques, le fils d'Alphée, Thaddée, Simon leZélé,
19 and Judas Iscariot who betrayed him.	19 et Judas Iscarioth, celui-là même qui le livra.
20 He came home. Again (the) crowd gathered, making it impossible for them even to eat.	20 Il vient à la maison et de nouveau la foule se rassemble, au point qu'ils ne pouvaient pas mêmemanger de pain.
21 When his relatives heard of this they set out to seize him, for they said, "He is out of his mind."	21 Et les siens, l'ayant appris, partirent pour se saisir de lui, car ils disaient: "Il a perdu le sens."
22 The scribes who had come from Jerusalem said, "He is possessed by Beelzebul," and "By the prince of demons he drives out demons."	22 Et les scribes qui étaient descendus de Jérusalem disaient: "Il est possédé de Béelzéboul", et encore:"C'est par le prince des démons qu'il expulse les démons."
23 Summoning them, he began to speak to them in parables, "How can Satan drive out Satan?	23 Les ayant appelés près de lui, il leur disait en paraboles: "Comment Satan peut-il expulser Satan?
24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.	24 Si un royaume est divisé contre lui-même, ce royaume-là ne peut subsister.
25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.	25 Et si une maison est divisée contre elle-même, cette maison-là ne pourra se maintenir.
26 And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand; that is the end of him.	26 Or, si Satan s'est dressé contre lui-même et s'est divisé, il ne peut pas tenir, il est fini.
27 But no one can enter a strong man's house to plunder his property unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he can plunder his house.	27 Mais nul ne peut pénétrer dans la maison d'un homme fort et piller ses affaires s'il n'a d'abord ligotécet homme fort, et alors il pillera sa maison.
28 Amen, I say to you, all sins and all blasphemies that people utter will be forgiven them.	28 "En vérité, je vous le dis, tout sera remis aux enfants des hommes, les péchés et les blasphèmes tantqu'il en auront proféré;
29 But whoever blasphemes against the holy Spirit will never have forgiveness, but is guilty of an everlasting sin."	29 mais quiconque aura blasphémé contre l'Esprit Saint n'aura jamais de rémission: il est coupable d'unefaute éternelle."
30 For they had said, "He has an unclean spirit."	30 C'est qu'ils disaient: "Il est possédé d'un esprit impur."
31 His mother and his brothers arrived. Standing outside they sent word to him and called him.	31 Sa mère et ses frères arrivent et, se tenant dehors, ils le firent appeler.
32 A crowd seated around him told him, "Your mother and your brothers (and your sisters) are outside asking for you."	32 Il y avait une foule assise autour de lui et on lui dit: "Voilà que ta mère et tes frères et tes soeurs sontlà dehors qui te cherchent."
33 But he said to them in reply, "Who are my mother and (my) brothers?"	33 Il leur répond: "Qui est ma mère? Et mes frères?"
34 And looking around at those seated in the circle he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers.	34 Et, promenant son regard sur ceux qui étaient assis en rond autour de lui, il dit: "Voici ma mère etmes frères.
35 (For) whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother."	35 Quiconque fait la volonté de Dieu, celui-là m'est un frère et une soeur et une mère."
