A psalm. A sabbath song.1 [Psalm Song For the Sabbath] It is good to give thanks to Yahweh, to make music for your name, MostHigh,
It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praise to your name, Most High,2 to proclaim your faithful love at daybreak, and your constancy al through the night,
To proclaim your love in the morning, your faithfulness in the night,3 on the lyre, the ten-stringed lyre, to the murmur of the harp.
With the ten-stringed harp, with melody upon the lyre.4 You have brought me joy, Yahweh, by your deeds, at the work of your hands I cry out,
For you make me jubilant, LORD, by your deeds; at the works of your hands I shout for joy.5 'How great are your works, Yahweh, immensely deep your thoughts!'
How great are your works, LORD! How profound your purpose!6 Stupid people cannot realise this, fools do not grasp it.
A senseless person cannot know this; a fool cannot comprehend.7 The wicked may sprout like weeds, and every evil-doer flourish, but only to be eternally destroyed;
Though the wicked flourish like grass and all sinners thrive, They are destined for eternal destruction;8 whereas you are supreme for ever, Yahweh.
for you, LORD, are forever on high.9 Look how your enemies perish, how all evil-doers are scattered!
Indeed your enemies, LORD, indeed your enemies shall perish; all sinners shall be scattered.10 You give me the strength of the wild ox, you anoint me with fresh oil;
You have given me the strength of a wild bull; you have poured rich oil upon me.11 I caught sight of the ambush against me, overheard the plans of the wicked.
My eyes look with glee on my wicked enemies; my ears delight in the fall of my foes.12 The upright wil flourish like the palm tree, will grow like a cedar of Lebanon.
The just shall flourish like the palm tree, shall grow like a cedar of Lebanon.13 Planted in the house of Yahweh, they wil flourish in the courts of our God.
Planted in the house of the LORD, they shall flourish in the courts of our God.14 In old age they wil stil bear fruit, wil remain fresh and green,
They shall bear fruit even in old age, always vigorous and sturdy,15 to proclaim Yahweh's integrity; my rock, in whom no fault can be found.
As they proclaim: "The LORD is just; our rock, in whom there is no wrong."
