Psalms 92

1 A psalm. A sabbath song.	1 'Salmo. Canto. Per il giorno del sabato.'
2 It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praise to your name, Most High,	2 È bello dar lode al Signore e cantare al tuo nome, o Altissimo,
3 To proclaim your love in the morning, your faithfulness in the night,	3 annunziare al mattino il tuo amore, la tua fedeltà lungo la notte,
4 With the ten-stringed harp, with melody upon the lyre.	4 sull'arpa a dieci corde e sulla lira, con canti sulla cetra.
5 For you make me jubilant, LORD, by your deeds; at the works of your hands I shout for joy.	5 Poiché mi rallegri, Signore, con le tue meraviglie, esulto per l'opera delle tue mani.
6 How great are your works, LORD! How profound your purpose!	6 Come sono grandi le tue opere, Signore, quanto profondi i tuoi pensieri!
7 A senseless person cannot know this; a fool cannot comprehend.	7 L'uomo insensato non intende e lo stolto non capisce:
8 Though the wicked flourish like grass and all sinners thrive, They are destined for eternal destruction;	8 se i peccatori germogliano come l'erba e fioriscono tutti i malfattori, li attende una rovina eterna:
9 for you, LORD, are forever on high.	9 ma tu sei l'eccelso per sempre, o Signore.
10 Indeed your enemies, LORD, indeed your enemies shall perish; all sinners shall be scattered.	10 Ecco, i tuoi nemici, o Signore, ecco, i tuoi nemici periranno, saranno dispersi tutti i malfattori.
11 You have given me the strength of a wild bull; you have poured rich oil upon me.	11 Tu mi doni la forza di un bùfalo, mi cospargi di olio splendente.
12 My eyes look with glee on my wicked enemies; my ears delight in the fall of my foes.	12 I miei occhi disprezzeranno i miei nemici, e contro gli iniqui che mi assalgono i miei orecchi udranno cose infauste.
13 The just shall flourish like the palm tree, shall grow like a cedar of Lebanon.	13 Il giusto fiorirà come palma, crescerà come cedro del Libano;
14 Planted in the house of the LORD, they shall flourish in the courts of our God.	14 piantati nella casa del Signore, fioriranno negli atri del nostro Dio.
15 They shall bear fruit even in old age, always vigorous and sturdy,	15 Nella vecchiaia daranno ancora frutti, saranno vegeti e rigogliosi,
16 As they proclaim: "The LORD is just; our rock, in whom there is no wrong."	16 per annunziare quanto è retto il Signore: mia roccia, in lui non c'è ingiustizia.
